in the 2020 piece study of jewish
americans there was a statistic which
was put out there which is incredibly
troubling and which we have to work hard
to be able to understand because it's
not fully described and that is
that 67 of jews who were raised orthodox
are currently orthodox that means a
dropout rate of one third and that's
horrible and unacceptable
how could it possibly be now we don't
know exactly what it means we don't know
what
that world of orthodoxy was that's
described there whatever it means it's
not it's not good we have to study it we
have to understand it
the jewish people the orthodox jewish
community has something which is very
very rich very vibrant growing
and writ large
incredibly explosive
but as we know on personal levels
familial levels
in within communities there are those
who aren't sticking who aren't staying
with us and we have to attack that
we have to make sure yes we want to
spread what we what we believe in what
we practice to others we want to engage
in heroes and and teaching but first
we must not bleed first we must ensure
that everyone in our community is given
a real reason and a real chance to stay
to stay within to have an infused and
involved and inspired involvement in
jewish life and that's something which
we have to address
the issue of attrition
