One of the most mysterious prophecies in
the Bible is the final battle of Gog and
Magog in Ezekiel. It's not really
straightforward. Most of the names are
unclear, but there's enough to start
putting the pieces together. Ezekiel
chapter 38 verses 4 and 5. Speaking to
Gog, I will turn you about and I will
put hooks into your jaws and I will
bring you forth and all your army.
Persia, Cush and Put with them, all of
them with shield and helmet.
This is a vision of the final war of Gog
and Magog and the only country that is
100% identifiable is Persia, modern-day
Iran.
And it's the first country leading the
list. It says that Hashem will put hooks
into their jaws and draw them into this
war like a fisherman reeling in fish
because one thing doesn't make rational
sense. There are more than 30 Muslim
countries. There's only one that is
fully committed, publicly announced many
times that it's actively pursuing
nuclear bombs and ballistic missiles to
destroy Israel. And you have to ask
yourself like, "What's that about?"
There are a million different things
that could occupy the mind of the
leaders of a country. Why is the regime
of Iran so hell-bent on destroying
Israel? I mean, we don't even share a
border with the country. It's a thousand
kilometers away. We've never had a war
directly with Iran until now. Israel
doesn't have oil. We don't compete in
the markets with them. It's not rational
that a country so far away, kilometers
that's the will.
Why are they so committed to
annihilating another country? It's a
spiritual war.
And the one country that's listed in the
army of the axis of evil is Persia. And
they have been compelled
to hate. They've been drawn to hate.
They've been reeled in in a way that
defies logic, reasons or interests,
agendas, they had to say what they said,
we stop our ambitions. All they had to
say,
we're going to stop all of our ambitions
for war. We're going to focus on
building our economy. We're going to
focus on building our country.
And they couldn't stop.
They couldn't let go of their passionate
hate for Israel because they lead the
list. And that's a sign for all of us to
pay close attention. Persia in the time
of Ezekiel, by the way, Persia wasn't
even a player on the world stage. They
posed no threat to Israel even after
Babylon destroyed the temple. It was
Persia under Cyrus that allowed our
return to the land of Israel. So, if
anything, biblically, Persia around
Ezekiel's time was either not relevant
or it was a friend to Israel. To say the
first army to lead the list of armies
against Israel will be Iran is a glimpse
into the end of days that we're living
in right now.
