pay water to pay the city's further for what they get to stop taking over lives without permits and they only then will get equal rights as other citizens and what would he do with the Arabs that highlight of my week so far was covering the election in the Labor Party now I gotta admit I have editors who couldn't care less about the Labor Party really accusing me of engaging in necrophilia you know in dealing with the dead and giving it way way way too much attention and I said no this is the most interesting party in Israel right now the very fact that they are fighting for their political life is what makes them so interesting and in fact that they got plenty of attention for their primary it was the lead to the papers the on Tuesday morning all over the country after a primary that went quite well for the party they had enough people come out to vote after that there were so many people saying that they wouldn't know the voter turnout of Labor was only a percent and a half lower than the turnout of Li could whose primary was really celebrated with with much fanfare until it turned out that there were so many forgeries in the election and outside interference and perhaps even crimes the labor election it was fully computerized and because of that we had our results already 45 minutes after the polls closed which was pretty cool and I was there at the Tel Aviv fairgrounds where they artificially kind of made a point of showing life in the party they had young people fill the room and they were playing drums which I found extremely annoying but it really did show vibrancy they elected young people in both Itzik Smulian Stav Shaffir we're going to be the top candidates after the leader avi gob I there's also a young man named Yahya Fink who it will be either 12th on the party list if Party leader Abu GABA puts in reserved candidates or he could end up being the ninth candidate on the list which would give him more of a chance of getting elected labor currently gets seven seats in the polls and I'm taping this show before new polls were expected to be run on Tuesday night on Israeli TV and probably give labor a political boost Yahya Fink's mother was the star of the show at the polling station in Jerusalem on Monday 75 year old woman from Brooklyn stood there all day from 10 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. not just shaking hands with everyone voting but looking them in the eye and telling them I am ëif Fink's mother how anyone could not vote for Yahya Fink after looking in that woman's eyes I have no idea and it's no wonder he did better than every candidate is not a Knesset member he did better than 11 Knesset members very very impressive for a 34 year old kid who's the son of of a woman from Brooklyn and an ax man from beautiful Scranton Pennsylvania and so vif Inc could very well end up being a Knesset member I'm hoping to have him on this show later on when the vibe around him calms down a bit when I spoke to him briefly today for The Jerusalem Post he told me this is my sixth interview of the day that's what happens when you are the surprise star of the Labour Party primary and relatively unknown person and now are thrust into the limelight which is going to happen to a lot of people in this election which is something that makes it very fun so I got interviewed by Al Jazeera here we go again outside the Labour polling station and they were asking me is labour doing so badly in the polls a sign that the Israeli left is dead a sign that the people of Israel don't want peace and I said absolutely not the Israeli left is not dead the Labour Party is not dead the people of Israel want peace of course we pray for peace three times a day but the Labour Party has bad leadership avi gob I is in the wrong place at the wrong time he's not enough of a convincing figure he's gone all over the political map he's not very inspiring he's not very charismatic doesn't have a lot of grace to him doesn't really know how to handle people nobody knows when his views really are and the way that he expelled Tzipi Livni I don't think ended up winning any votes for his party and then since he did that they've fallen far in the polls to the point that there was a poll in Friday's paper that suggested that they would win only four seats which of avi gob I wouldn't man that second slot in the list that he has the right to bring in an outsider to would mean their candidates would be a V gob I that person Stav and schmuely and that's it Amir Peretz and Shelia homo which would be left out of the Knesset and you know what GABA is not gonna be lasting very long except if something drastic changes between now and April 9th shortly after that he's going to forced if he's going to be forced to quit the leadership of that party and then there will be an election yet again in labor I've covered about 12 of these over the last 20 years maybe I'm exaggerating but not by much elections for leader of the Labour Party and the people elected to the top last night Stav and shmuly could end up being the big candidates running in the next election huh I predicted in my predictions for 2019 and you can google it Google Gil Hoffman tender predictions for 2019 I predicted that gob I would be forced out after doing poorly in the election and then there would be a race for Labour leader between two people between Stav Shaffir last time I checked is 34 I believe against a hood Barack who just turned 72 last time I checked and that would be an amazing contrast not just in age but also in bank account Stav Shaffir is poor she I believe has an overdraft whereas Barack is one of the richest people in Israel lives in a nice penthouse in Tel Aviv is worth tens and tens of millions and right now among the many companies he's involved in is the head of a company exporting medical cannabis around the world and the Israeli cabinet which normally does not want to help out it would Barak passed all the regulations necessary for Israel to become a cannabis exporter a couple weeks ago which ladies and gentlemen is making prophecies come true the prophet Isaiah said we would be a light unto the nations
