dear kala tarakula listeners often people ask me rabbi we're in the final stretch we have two weeks left to get rid of all our comments to check our homes and our cars and our offices and it's a lot of work and it's a lot of effort what should we be thinking what are we doing exactly what does hamas represent i'd like to give a little bit of a unique aspect or a little bit of a twist on a very age-old classical understanding we know that khames is the expanded version of matza it's the same exact ingredients it's the flower and it's the water just so you put some type of yeasting agent and that expands it it blows it up it inflates it matzo is the essence it's the core it's the truth you know we live in a world where a lot of the truth has been expanded and inflated i'm not the person to tell this to you but we all know that the world of social media inflates exaggerates totally blows out of proportion the reality of life people only post things that are beyond and above not the reality of life and if a person is tapped into social media enough slowly but surely this fake reality becomes their reality their life of matzah of purity of truth turns into a life of khames of an inflated untrue phantom reality as we clean for the comments and we look in the crannies and the nooks for pieces of chamez yes that somewhat knockoff version of the real life of the essence of what life is supposed to be about let's take a few minutes in our own personal lives to recalibrate who we are what we are and the essence and the core of our lives because i think at the heart of hearts when we're true to who we are more honest with who we are we're so much happier and we're so much fulfilled but when we try to live a life that's that fake news if you want to call that it's that fake world around us it's an inflated version of the essence of something we're not happy we can never keep up with it and it's not who we really are rebecca should help us that as we search for physical hamads we should also be able to get rid of the spiritual comics and become in touch with our essence with our true panemias and that will give us such amazing simcha and when we go into pesach it will be as and tremendous joy sharing terms of getting in terms of being true to ourselves [Music]
