I hear a lot of people talk about needing to fully process their emotions before they can move on from them. In practice, I see many people become stuck because of this idea. What does it even mean to "fully process" an emotion? Perhaps a better question is whether an emotion has been sufficiently processed. In other words, has it been understood and felt enough that I can move forward with my life without it repeatedly interfering with my ability to live? The goal is not to reach a state where an emotion never returns.
