The Soul of Israel: Matchmaking vs. Sea Parting

to get through it it's for that to get through to us so that has to do with really all experiences in life is about going through experiences or is about experiences going through us and how do you know to the friendship between the two how do you know if you went through an experience or the experience went through you which is kind of what I wanted to discuss a little bit in today's segment because this coming Shabbos this coming portion of the week discuss is one of the most life-changing transcendental experiences that mankind ever went through but it only happened to us Jewish people and that is the crossing of the Red Sea and the question is when we crossed the Red Sea or while we were crossing the Red Sea did we experience what was happening did we go through an experience or the experience go through us in other words how could we still be the same people after crossing the Red Sea we'll be the same people how do we know if we've changed in it how do we know if the monumental things in life that we've been through have really cut through art that the core of who we really are and when it when it comes to the Red Sea the Gemara says there's something very very of the work of this generation today is crossing the Red Sea in the form of soulmates it's not just in the form of finding a soul mate it's maintaining a soul mate and I don't just mean not getting divorced I mean continuing to cross the Red Sea while you are already married in order to do that in a way that I want us to bring it down to a practical level I want to discuss one of the main miracles that took place during the crossing of the Red Sea and I think that'll help us understand why the commander says that crossing the Red Sea is like finding your soul mate so heaven dearest have two the Red Sea they still have to do it we used to have parents doing it for us those days are done it's about us right now it's about jumping into the water and then you know that when you really believe that the home that you are going to build is really really so essential for the world for your own family meaning that you can compare it to million places but it really depends on your own Alyssa then you know that the experience went through you and you didn't just go through an experience of crossing the Red Sea because you're still in it the truth is we never really left the
