The Siren Interrupted the Blessing—Or Did It? | Land of Israel Fellowship

They lifted up their arms to channel the blessing and that exact moment as the first words exited their mouth as they opened their mouth to bless us, the real siren went off. And everybody of course got up and started mobilizing to the nearest shelter, but in my heart it felt like something else was happening. As if Hashem was saying, you think you're about to receive a blessing now from the Kohanim, open your hearts for this blessing. And for the rest of the day nearly every hour we ran down into the bomb shelter. It was a lot, you know, understand. You know, and yet just like the shelters across the country, we sang and we told stories and I tried to be goofy and make ridiculous faces even though my kids could barely see them and we turned fear into faith as best as we could like we all were doing across the country. And and I realized something. You know, since October 7th, I had almost always been outside and patrolling and protecting and guarding and this was the first time I was inside the shelter, like really inside the shelter with them the whole time. Divash even looked at me and asked, "Aba, why are you here with us?" Because usually I'm not and in that moment I felt something shift inside me. I heard the words of Moshe Rabbeinu that he said at the sea. Hashem Yevarechecha Ve'yishmerecha The Lord will fight for you and you shall remain silent. >> [music]
