Shalom Alim everybody welcome back to
the mid welcome home to Torah and for
those who are unfamiliar with what we do
here we are learning Kish we're learning
the scripture tanak and we're in chapter
41 of Genesis pares Mikes now it's
Hanukah before we begin I just want to
mention we're all praying for am Israel
we're praying for the nation of Israel
in the land of Israel we have enemies
all around us we are really um how
should I say it beating the head hell
out of our enemies and that should not
allow us to have too much confidence in
our own abilities which we certainly
have to take a certain amount of I'm
going to use the word pride but not we
have to make sure that we are always
remembering it's Hashem who's protecting
us we're doing what we call the his the
effort we're going to talk about that
tonight so we are in a state of war and
we've been in that state of War were for
over 100 years perhaps even 2,000 years
but for the last 100 years it's been L
ongoing war and we're praying for our
soldiers people who are defending the
land of Israel and the people who are
learning there are plenty of people brem
who are learning Torah and that's
protecting am Israel as well so with
that in mind I just want to mention that
we would like you to learn Hebrew and
the Hebrew sheets are um
available by looking down in the
description box there is a link and you
can follow the link to the right page to
the right year and follow along with
this class based on the
title also by the way we are really the
last few days of finishing the
renovations on our new center and batm
this Tuesday Rabbi Bri with AER we're
going to be having a party before
Hanukkah party and for those who are in
you Shan please either send me an email
or look on the uh the website for
details regarding our new location we
will not be in the regular yel Street
Sho but we'll be here at 52 emic raim in
the German Colony okay so let's begin
we're starting in chapter 41 verse 1
I'll read the English and then I'll read
the Hebrew it came to pass at the end of
two full years that Pharaoh was dreaming
and behold he was standing by the Nile
now what we end up doing we usually deal
with just a few words and we could speak
for hours but we don't have hours we
have one hour so we're dealing with
these
words which means that it was at the end
of two full years that's how we
understand it and Pharaoh had this
famous dream and of course he passed it
on to from interpretation and nobody was
able to interpret it properly or he
realized that they were not smart enough
but ysep was he had a special um gift
from Hashem where he was able to
interpret dreams and not only did his
Not only was he correct but it it um it
caused him it it caused him the Merit to
be elevated in Pharaoh's eyes to become
the Viceroy
okay so we're going to be critical of
ysep even though we call ysep sadik and
he really was very righteous
nevertheless he was still a human being
even though our most righteous people
are still human beings he seemed to
be lacking
in amuna in faith on some level because
he went and he asked the cup Bearer The
Head partender of pharaoh to remember
him and for that it seems that was the
reason he was punished to remain in jail
for additional two years and we'll see
the sources and how we come to this
understanding so we saw the English and
we saw the first few words in
Hebrew and Rashi mentions the word mikat
is means the end so it was the end of
two full years the very first question
the clear will ask is and if you're
following
along you know there's no beginning
point it just starts off by telling us
at the end of two years is that how you
begin a story you have to know where the
two years began to tell me it was the
end of two
years happens to be if you look back at
the end of last week's para it's still
not clear
Pharaoh had a birthday he made a feast
okay so he was upset with his people he
hang the Chamberlain of the
Bakers but as remember yoseph had
already spoken to the the the head Baker
and the head uh
bartender and so came out like he said
now he had asked the the head bartender
to remember him when he got out cuz he
predicted he would get out and be
elevated back to his original position
but the last words were that the head of
the cup the head bartender did not
remember ysep but rather he forgot him
so that's the Assumption even though it
doesn't tell us exactly when the two
years begun but guess
what the two years must have begun from
the time that the bartender either
forgot him or when he asked him but the
clear says it says in in the
med the very fact that ysep had to
remain in jail for an additional two
years that these two years these two
additional years they were necessary for
him to be bound up to be imprisoned in
the in the prison more than what was
original lot it to him when someone goes
to prison they get a sentence it's not
open-ended he was supposed to be
released at a certain time that was a
decree and for some reason it was
necessary for him to stay in jail for an
additional two years the question is why
what did he do wrong or what did he do
right he did something and this is where
I would normally ask for drum roll but
we have the camera on the table and
there's people sitting here so
the CLE car he's quoting because what
did ysep do ysep made
dependent his security or his assurity
or his trust and perhaps even faith in a
human being in the head bartender SAR
hamash now the C car is going to take us
for a wild ride a wild ride it says in s
for those who have the English Source
sheets by the way if you want the
English Source sheets you can just email
me and ask be ask to be added to the
list it says in Psalms
40:5 praiseworthy is the man
praiseworthy is the
man
Ash praiseworthy is the man who what a
Hashem who places Hashem now when you
say Hashem we're talking about theud and
the and the and the he the name
itself as his security it's unbelievable
if you read this in English what does it
really mean because the CLE card is
going to say it should have said bem
that you actually trust in Hashem but
what we're reading is praiseworthy is
the man who trust in the name of Hashem
this the name itself is trustworthy
the rest of the verse
says and we're saying it's in here and
did not turn to the hty and those who
turn to
falsehood elim now we're going to learn
the word Rahim is a code word for the
Egyptians and yes this cup Bearer The
Head um bartender was an Egyptian no
question but there's something about the
about the Egyptians which is going to
relate to the word rahav which we're
going to say is arrogance and that's how
it's translated
here so the clear
says this word Rahim is referring to the
Egyptians shik RAV that's what they're
called now he has to question his
question is as
follows there is to be bothered one
should be bothered
what exactly does it
mean who places Hashem as his trust the
name itself well we don't know that yet
I kind of let you on to that but
AEM that was the verse we just read in
Psalms
40:5 the clear claims jaar
you know it would have said or should
have said or could have said it would
have made more sense to
say who places in Hashem his trust with
the BET as a preface to hashem's
name like another verse so in Jeremiah
17:7 it's a little bit of a mix there's
a mix between this idea of trusting
bashem and also making
Hashem the essence of Hashem the name of
hasem his trust look at Jeremiah it's
number four in the swore
sheet blessed is the
man so you have the BET before
Hashem blessed is the man who puts his
trust in the
Lord and the rest of the verse
says and then hasem will be shall be his
trust so this is actually going to teach
us something about the second part you
put your trust in Hashem and as a result
Hashem will be the person's trust but it
still needs to be developed this idea
and the clear mentions two lines up from
the bottom of that
paragraph the very fact that the verse
itself seems to be doubled over with the
same idea and I'll just read it English
so we have blessed is the man who trust
in the Lord the Lord shall be his trust
like what is the idea that it's it seems
to be repeating itself but we know
there's never a case if there is a
repetition there has to be something new
somewhere and here obviously there will
be some deep lessons going
on so he claims
that this expression in this verse in
Jeremiah
17:7 and perhaps even if you think about
what the original statement in Psalms
40:5 is it
requires some kind of
examination and fixing meaning fixing in
our mind we have to solve and resolve
what it means when it
says so that appears in both verses
Jeremiah 17:7 as well as Psalms chapter
40 verse
5 so he's and now he has another
question another question is
L why in that verse of Psalms 40:5 and
we say these are the Egyptians why are
the Egyptians called
R and they're not called by the
well-known name called Egyptians call a
spade a spade call them Egyptians why
does King David why does the Tanakh go
out of its way not to call them
Egyptians but rather to call them
rim and that is another question which
we will now begin to give the clear's
answer so the clear begins his answer by
saying these famous
words it makes the most sense to me the
clear says to say the following
now this doesn't mean that it's the
correct way but apparently it is the way
of most people on this
planet
that the way that the world is
accustomed
unfortunately imagine I'm sure we all
have been there where a person he
actually has a quality he has a quality
that's much
greater and um let's say on a higher
grade than another person uh wealth is
one of those examples maybe it's
intelligence but there are people who
are in this world who think there are
people who are below them okay so
someone has some kind some kind of
Advantage some kind of trait that is
much more Superior than others
that person unfortunately not everybody
but many of these types of people have a
certain arrogance about them and they
don't recall or
remember they could have been you know
uh roommates in college they could have
been uh kids in the same grade school
and
classmates neighbors who knows but all
of a sudden at some
point the person with a higher trait
again it could have been wealth could
have been intelligence could have been
anything they're not going to remember
the person who's lower than them you
know in a different class so to
speak and they won't even bring up their
name first of all if they don't remember
them they're not going to bring up their
name but they they go out of their way
and they're not going to bring up their
name on their lips from the aspect of
some type of Pride
arrogance
alar this is the claim now he says the
philosophers it could be he's talking
about the Greek philosophers which Greek
philosophy still exists today but uh
this is written 450 years ago and he's
taking it from previous generations of
great sages making this claim that this
is what the pH philosophers make a claim
that Hashem regarding Hashem you know
what they
say can you imagine someone saying this
that God yeah I believe in God he's so
great he's way up there and he doesn't
relate he cannot relate to us uh people
who are
lowly I mean that's literally what it
says God is so big big and high up there
that he's
not means to observe and to be involved
in their lives who
are bashim people who are low the word
like today in modern Hebrew we know that
is the
lowlands we're talking about other human
beings anything that's underneath the
orbit of the moon right these people are
just so way up there at least here we're
talking about Hashem sorry we're talking
about that Hashem is so way up there in
the Spheres in the you know in in the
clouds so to speak in the sky that he
cannot relate to and doesn't relate to
anything on this planet because that's
under the orbit of the moon or within
the orbit of the
moon now in order to what to negate this
losing um idea no the whole concept is a
it's totally false it's a losing idea
anybody that believes
this it's a losing idea to think that
Hashem cannot relate wait till you hear
this so in order to actually negate
this I'm going to call it crazy
idea we have a verse in 1
Samuel
2:3 we're going to examine it a little
bit
carefully do not increasingly speak
haughtily it's number five on the sori
let not arrogance come out of your
mouth for the Lord is a god of thoughts
and to him are Deeds counted now if we
really think about this I want to try to
see if the Hebrews is much better I'll
to I'll
T don't speak so much don't speak overly
don't speak he said do not increasingly
speak don't speak so much in fact don't
speak at all we'll see
thata Hashem is higher than high don't
say
that because Hess is coming out of your
mouth rather this is what you should say
or no that Hashem is the god of thoughts
so not only is the god of thoughts he
knows
everything and to him are Deeds counted
in other
words the low to
him every action is intended and known
by Hashem nothing is passed over from
him so the CLE is using this
idea how are we going to interpret
it do not say these following words
don't speak
it don't say this that from the aspect
that Hashem is so high and so big high
above all of the heights that he has no
idea of what's going on down
here don't say that but rather this is
what you should
say that hasem knows all your
thoughts he knows
everything and to
him and to him he
knows all
actions he knows every action so this
should negate the idea of the philosoph
phos opers and perhaps other religions
that say God is so high I just think
about Christianity for a second I think
this is what many of them actually do
believe even though maybe it's not
written anywhere why else would you need
an
intermediary the whole religion is based
on God is too high you and I'm going to
just say what they say that you need his
son that you need an
intermediary it's amazing that means
they fell into the philosophy of the
Greek
philosophers this is so anti-judaism
anti
truth and by the way that's why we are
called
Israel
yes we go directly to God this is going
to be the theme of tonight's class who
we are we go directly to Hashem and
Hashem goes directly to us we have a
relationship with the almighty a real
relationship he knows our thoughts he
knows our actions and he cares he cares
he's not like this person or thing that
is just so that's man man that's what he
meant when he said no The Way of the
World the way of human beings and it
doesn't make it correct but a lot of
people are I'm going to use the word
stuck up they have a certain attitude
that they're better way over other
people
and uh that obviously affects their
relationship with other people but
certainly uh affects their relationship
with
God okay so the next paragraph
says in order to like really bring home
and certify verify make absolutely
certain that this is
true that we that this is the that
Hashem actually dwells with the Daka
with the small the
broken lowly of
spirit okay I do have on number six a
little
graph for those who are familiar with
gatria you'll see on the left side what
called the regular gatria so Al is one
be is two and you get through the then
to the tens right yud is 10 cu is 20 Lam
is 30 then you get to the hundreds right
K is 100 ra is 200 Shin is 300 and then
you have the final letters right the the
me theet 5 six 700 all the way you have
to a th000 but anyway on the right side
of this graph it's a different type of
gatri another way of value of the
letters so for example these are called
miluim mil that the letter is not
spelled just like with an Al but it's
spelled out so Al
is BET is BET keeping the original value
of the letters but now that we spelled
it out so Al is three letters Al L which
would come out Al is 1 lamid is 30 pay
is 80 equals
111 bet is bet you're tough right
42 you have gimo
GID equals
73 now there are three letters that are
significantly small in number it happens
to be no coincidence CU God created the
world with his speech he called out
right 10 sayings and the world was cre
created speech he spoke with what call
the Hebrew language the original
lodes uh the holy
tongue and the he the V and the yud if
you look on the chart they're way
smaller like the next one up is the
gimmel 73 the Lama is 74 and on and on
so when every every word has one has two
or three letters right you don't have a
word with just one letter so it has to
be a combination the word SE roof is
combination or permutation of different
letters being part of a word so you have
God's name the yud the he and the V but
you have another hey because
um it's actually 54 it four letters four
letters which make one word God's name
is a gatria if you add them up in its
fullness
only 54 take any other word go through
the dictionary like if you want to know
numbers you go to the Yellow Pages or
the white pages we don't have that
anymore but you go to the dictionary and
look at any word pick any word you will
never ever find in any word in the
entire vocabulary of Hebrew of
lashes anything less than God's name and
you can see it right here because the
next letter up
is already
73 and it's going to be combined with
another letter to make a word but good k
v k is
54 we're going to see why Hashem chose
that
name it's amazing and this is where the
trust of at sadik should be as we will
now see the last thing we read was this
idea that
the who did the permanent permeation of
his own name not only his name
is his great and awesome name with the
four letters when you
um the fullness of their number is m y
it's so small from all the other letters
in the
alphabet and it's spelled out like is
he is he Al
is he Al again for he if you add that
all up I told you it's
54 look at all the rest of the letters
on that number
six graph on the S sheet it's called
the when you add them all up when you
write them and you add them all up low
you will not find a single
letter you won't find even a letter that
would be less than that name of God in
the per permeations of YK which we
already said is 54 when you do it in the
m and the other letter we say is like 73
gimo 74 is lamid Zion is 77 pay is 81 it
unbel the rest go higher and higher and
higher well there's a gor
Mill he says these famous
words I want you to be sitting for this
every
place that you find the greatness of God
anytime you find and we're going to say
the word greatness is related to gibor
strength when you find
the greatness of God the strength of God
and maybe even the fear of God because
that's related to
strength
Shu there you will find his an
an sorry
an you will find his humility
in the very place that you find his
greatness and his greatness is in his
name and everything his name stands for
within that place you will find his
humility remember he created the Hebrew
language and he took upon himself so to
speak the name that is the smallest of
the smallest of the smallest of any
other word and it's just a reflection on
his own
true humility that he is
simultaneously G he is as high as high
can be no limit and yet he relates to
every single human being every one of us
in the minutest
details with our thoughts in this
world and the clear says this well this
is the actually the gamorra let's look
at the gamar number eight on the source
sheet so we're going to compare
three different
verses to verses that are right next to
it we're going to start off with
Deuteronomy chapter 10 and we're going
to see verse 17 and 18 then we're going
to go to Isaiah chter 57 verse 15 it's
number eight on the sori and you will
see God's greatness and then his
humility one verse after another or even
within the same verse and the last um
example
that the gamorra brings is in Psalm 68
verse5 and 6 where you'll see in verse 5
God's greatness and then you'll see in
verse six his humility it's number eight
on the sori you see number eight there
you go so let's look at it says Milla
31a it's written in the Torah in
Deuteronomy
10:7 I'm sorry 17 for the Lord your God
is the god of gods and the Lord of
lords he is the Lord of lords the god of
gods he's just great but what does it
say right afterwards in verse 18
Deuteronomy
10:8 he executes the Judgment of the
fatherless and the Widow oh say
mishpat so he's so great he's the Lord
of lords the god of Gods
and yet he's involved in the Judgment
over the the
theim the U the Widow and the how do you
say that's the fatherless
but he executes judgment over the
orphans the fatherless and the Widow so
don't oppress them okay one of the major
Mitzvah in the Torah carefully take care
of them do not oppress the orphans or
the Widow the rest of the verse talks
about
gim uh you shouldn't do that either to
the convert you have to love the convert
but what did these two verses explain in
chapter 1017 and 18 it's displaying
God's humility in caring even for what
we call the weakest parts of society
that the orphan and the Widow but let's
just say the most vulnerable even the
gar who usually doesn't come with
family okay they're usually
alone usually alone and they are uh
vulnerable then the gorah says you know
this is this concept is repeated not
just in the Torah but it's said again in
the prophets what are there's nothing
the prophets ever say that is new
they're only coming to guide you what
the five Books of Moses already
commanded you and it says in Isaiah chap
57:15 we're going to deal with the same
verse one's in the beginning and the
second idea is towards the end of the
same
verse for thus says the high and lofty
one that in inhabits eternity whose name
is sacred I mean the very fact that it
mentions his name being significant I
think is significant
but what's the rest of the verse say in
the high and holy place I dwell with him
that is a contrite and humble spirit so
even though Hashem is in the highest and
holy place he dwells with those of
contrite and humble spirits to revive
the spirit of the humble and to revive
the heart of the contrite ones and in
Hebrew thead
so we have it in the prophets what about
the writings the writings is also as we
mentioned Psalms in the
writings 68:5 and verse six it starts
off by telling us how great Hashem is
and we're going to deal with this verse
a little bit
more um it says over there
extol him who rides upon the
clouds and no you know what that's
pretty much the verse that I I needed to
bring extol him who rides upon the
clouds whose name is now it says yah
yud yud by the way is part of the udk
but I think what the cleard wanted to do
is to show you the four-letter name
is significant because it's so small but
e even in value in you hate which is
part of that is obviously even smaller
it's even more small it's
smaller so what's written right after it
after us explaining sing to Hashem extol
him who rides upon the clouds which
means he's way up there the verse itself
implies he's way up there and yet the
rest of the verse sorry verse six
says he's the father to the orphans and
he will judge he's going to be a judge
over the widows we're not talking about
him judging the widows we're talking
about he's judging the people who treat
the widows
improperly so what the clear is actually
doing he's just quoting the gorah uh
starts off another verse Psalm 68:5
which we actually read
praise him who rides in the AR which is
the clouds by his name yud he so the
clear Begins by saying RAR what is what
is the gor trying to
accomplish that the Praises are to yah
that's the in the which is part of his
name it is his name
it's true he's riding on the clouds as
the verse
says high up
there nevertheless the yud and the he is
his name which is even smaller than the
fourl
name this is actually the name that is
the smallest of all the names
that name is a word that only has two
letters this is the smallest permeation
of God's name that you'll ever
find and all this proves regarding what
Al
regarding regarding his another his
humility again this is just a academic
learning about his name but what it's
supposed to imply it's supposed to
impress upon us his true Essence that he
is not so high high high that he doesn't
relate yes he is high high high but he
does relate and that we have to take to
heart therefore the very essence of the
name this great and awesome name is
so it provs and it actually serves as uh
Faith to us we should have we should
have shity absolute knowledge and shorty
we are the T that hasem remembers us and
he's Mas he is involved in our
lives and this should not allow an
opening in the mouths of those who
are they make a false claim by saying as
we said the philosophers and perhaps
even Christianity if you just think
about it the Christians really believe
that you need an intermediary that they
cannot reach
hem because of God's greatness and his
way up there his height
that he abandoned the Earth couldn't be
further from the
truth because God is Not Human God does
not act like a human we already know how
the how people act with arrogance Hashem
is the
opposite we already determined that the
way that human beings act that's what it
means
ofam that they are not involved with
they're not observing they're not
interested and nor do they remember
anyone who is below them in in in in
levels or in
class as we turn the
page regarding two
ideas these two assumptions that were
mentioned in the verse he will now
discuss what those two assumptions are
assumption number one
is meaning people
do trust in Hashem but the problem is
when they trust in
Hashem it could be that they are putting
and attaching a reason I think we'll get
that into at the next paragraph So the
first assumption is people will trust in
Hashem and we have this verse
praiseworthy is the man who actually it
says hasem is his trust
it's it's the actual essence of the name
this great and awesome
name this is why we connect
because those small
right this great and awesome name but
its smallness the very fact that it's
small meaning the name of hasem is
small that is the
trust that itself is the trust that
Hashem connects with people he made
himself small to connect with
people that's why it does not say with
the bet that you're trusting in the name
Hashem what do we say when you trust
Hashem that means the that means the
essence of the
name that is your trust you're trusting
because it is small Hashem made himself
so small that he relates to
you that's why it actually
says in the beginning of the verse as if
it's saying blessed is the man whose
trust is in Hashem but then it's
like what will you actually be trusting
when it comes to Hashem it's his name
that may was made
small the verse continues and says it
will be Hashem will be his trust
meaning it's the essence the identity of
the name itself that is your trust the
name of Hashem not any other name of any
other God or any other deity or any
other false madeup man-made
religions now that's the first
assumption the second
idea the second assumption
is so not only should you be trusting in
Hashem IE trusting the name itself but
don't trust people
because actually trusting um the the
arrogant people arrogant people it
causes one to forget they will forget
you they will not remember you they
won't even bring your name up when it's
needed like the SAR hamash the head
bartender and where do we know this from
look in Deuteronomy chapter 8
verse4 this you'll find on the last page
it says in number 12 Deuteronomy
8:14 and your heart grows huy and you
forget the Lord your God who brought you
out of the land of Egypt out of the
house of bondage the verses are speaking
about a time where you're so prosperous
and you think you did it you think
you're the cause oh I caused it to rain
I mean you got to realize anybody who
says that belongs in the mental hospital
right everybody knows
that people one person right hon ail the
rabbis wanted to put him away he
actually prayed and his prayers were
answered um he said I'm not leaving this
circle until and he did it in public and
everyone everyone saw it and there was
no fake out there was no question that
it was him that caused the Reign to come
but you have a farmer they have to
believe in Hashem right they can pray
that should be rain but if you year
after year after year you plant at the
right time and the rain comes at the
right time and everything's great it's
not because of you it's because of
Hashem right farmers are real Believers
so here you go this idea that it's not
you when you become very prosperous
you're going to forget you're going to
think it's you you're going to for
forget about God as we say in the
Hebrew right you're going to grow
arrogant and you're going to forget
about God and that was a
warning now in remember our original
verses when I say our original verse I'm
talking about going back
to Psalms 40 verse 5 don't turn to the
Arrogant don't turn to the Arrogant that
was the
theim the the g r this idea the reason
it didn't say MIT Egyptian was because
Rah does relate to being
arrogant don't turn your face in trust
towards a human
being from the aspect of
arrogance he this human being will not
turn towards you he's
arrogant and as the verse says
lo
y that it says in Genesis
40:23 but the chief cup bear did not
remember ysep and he forgot
him he forgot about him okay that's what
happens the arrogant people do not
remember me
from the very fact that he was made an
important person he was returned to his
position as the head
bartender he was made a minister and
very important person at that
Al that's the reason he didn't
remember because it was in in his own
eyes to shame and put other people down
to look at other people as Unworthy of
his of his
honor I'm
sorry this the clear card is explaining
why Egypt or Egyptians are called
rahav now remember we said that yph was
in prison for additional two years
why was the why was ysep decreed to
spend an additional two years in
jail because his very sin was doubled he
was two years doubled commotion there's
another p in Jeremiah
17:5 that relates to this idea so says
the Lord curs is the man who trusts in
man so not only right he didn't trust in
God but he actually actively trusted in
a
man curses is the
man who actually trusts in a human being
the and makes his flesh his
arm and from Hashem he turns his heart
so the clear is
explaining that it was a double whammy
he did two years because of two sins the
first verse we just read in Jeremiah
17:5 um has both right this idea that he
he trusted in a person and he turned
away from he turned his heart away from
hasem According to the C car one year he
spends in jail because he trusted in
man as we all know under the laws laws
of mourning right the entire oneyear
period is set aside for mour but at the
end of that M life goes on you never
forget but you do forget your your law
so to speak you get we you have
closure so he says the whole time the
the idea of one year is enough to cause
you to forget
just as a you're dead right the dead
person is forgotten from the heart after
a year he doesn't mean that it's
completely forgotten but he means that
there's closure and you have to realize
life goes on and what's the second
year part of that verse your Jemiah
175 and from Hashem he turned away his
heart now the clear finishes off this
idea there's another way to explain or a
further way to explain this
verse and hasem should be his
trust you should know there are many
levels we spoke about this before the
more trust you have in AEM
the less effort you need to do the the
less trust you have in hem the more
effort there's a like a balance
here explains and and mentions this in
the
para meaning the highest level that one
can be on
it below is to actually trust inem for
no other reason other than who he is he
will he will act Hashem will act not for
any other
reason so that one should not say the
following he should not say these words
that God will do for me because of a
certain reason anybody that says that is
off the Rockers
because no human being actually knows
the the best thing for themselves they
have an idea they could be educated they
can have insights but ultimately it's
God who knows what's really good for you
and what's not good for you oh you think
that getting you know you have a whole
plan but maybe getting on that boat at
that time is not the right thing because
it's going to sink you don't know you
just have your own plan and you think
you're so right and everything has to go
smooth who says hasm has a better plan
for you and that's what it
says and perhaps a person thinks this
reason is why he's making such a
request but the truth is what could be
for his good could be opposite of what
he's planning that's why it says in
Psalms
37:5 commit your way to the Lord
but then it
says trust in
him and he will do is amazing like in
the 12-step program you make a decision
to turn your will in your life over to
the care of God can you imagine if we
Jews all lived up to that because they
got it from us and it helps them right
I'm talking about the 12ep programs
addicts they got it from us we should be
committing our lives every morning when
we wake up I put and before we go to
sleep obviously I put my soul into your
hand that's what we say before we go to
sleep and when it's we wake up Hashem
trusts you it's true he's giving you
another chance but you cannot do it
without him you need his help and
assistance and you should commit your
way to the Lord as the verse says and
trust in him
Rashi says commit your way to the Lord
means commit all your needs to him make
sure that you know you're dependent on
him and he will fulfill so the clear
says what does all this
mean that Hashem will act he will do for
whatever reason he sees fit and he sees
good within his own
eyes not that you're choosing them
where now it doesn't say this but if it
would have
said that you should trust
inem that I might say the
say because you're trusting in Hashem
for a certain reason it's very no you're
biased you have um you have some kind of
uh you know
interest that's why it says no
hasem should be your trust just trust
him meaning to
say that you're going to trust in theem
for no reason or without any reason
don't attach a reason why you're
trusting Hashem or what you're trusting
Hashem to do he knows best and whatever
happens is the
best the clear is claiming this is the
type of of trust that ysep had and if he
had that trust Hashem expected him to
use it and the slightest by sadik and by
righteous people the slightest little um
V variance from the track that they're
on that's for them would be a sin if we
were in prison and we asked the person
getting out for free to remember us for
us it wouldn't be a sin but for him it
was a
mistake so he
says there's no question that ysep
trusted in the name and
Trust except for the time that he placed
a reason he actually gave a reason you
know he he saved the cup bear from Death
I mean through his prophecy or through
his uh positive thinking and
interpretation Because by the way when
it comes to dreams
uh interpretation becomes
reality therefore he was shown that
extra two years in prison he was shown
from
Heaven that the reason for your being
redeemed the reason that's not a good
enough reason for what you thought but
rather what it says in
Proverbs 19: 21 and that's number 16
there are many thoughts in man's
heart many
thoughts but it's God's plan God's
advice God's plan is what is going to be
fulfilled okay so wow this was a really
heavy
fundamental class and hopefully we will
all all grow in our own in our own trust
inem
and duties of the heart the fourth
chapter I am reviewing it I'm going over
it and I think it's it's probably
worthwhile to do a class in it if
anybody uh is watching this and they
want to uh listen to many are many many
series of classes find a good Rabbi who
already gave this series
listen to them cuz you don't want to
wait until I go through it it's probably
going to take um maybe a year if we
start from the beginning to end and you
need to uh you need right now don't wait
don't delay work on
your because this is what your life now
is about making it a quality a quality
life in your relationship with Hashem
and this will improve your course your
relationships with the world around you
and with that I wish everyone
a right right we're in the month of uh I
think in English it's called Sagittarius
it's the month of the Archer the Archer
is a icon of
war and uh there's no coincidence that
Hanukkah takes place in that month of
war and we are in a war as we mentioned
in the beginning and it's not over yet
but batem we will be victorious we will
not give up Rabbi Brio just gave a Shear
last Tuesday night and I think the title
was in the middle of the battle do not
give up and that was caught at the end
of the shear that was the theme of the
end of the shear I labeled to Shear that
because you got to listen to the end
um we will all be victorious over
on and we fight the inner Jihad we fight
the war on the inside and once your
Victorious
there we will be Victorious on the
outside and with that I wish everyone
like I
said and a shabbat shalom and we'll see
you on the other side have a great life
