Everybody always asks me, "How hard should I try before I just let go and let God?" The truth is there's no answer in the Shulchan Aruch. But here's the principle. Do what's reasonable. If you do less than what's reasonable, then you're just waiting and relying on a miracle. If you do more than what's reasonable, excessive initiative, then you're arrogant. You think it's all up to you. And once you've done everything you can, and you still feel stuck, anxious, you're still pushing, ask yourself, what's the alternative than leaning on God? Regret, frustration, anger, that doesn't change your reality. It doesn't get you on the flight, and it doesn't bring your family together for Pesach. All it does is cost you your peace of mind. You did your part. Now let Hashem do his. That's not giving up. That's emunah.
