Firstly, a welcome home, Azriel. It's
good to have you back, Azriel. Azriel,
come.
>> [applause]
>> Welcome home, Azriel. Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Yitz, I I want the guys focusing, Avian.
Let's go. Let's do it.
Let's dig in.
Oh, yeah. You ready, Avian?
I want Avian, I want to study something,
Yitzchiel.
I want to study something I want that I
don't know the answer. I'm not trying to
tell you a vert.
Like, oh, a nice vert. And it's nice to
say over somewhere. I want to like study
a possuk. I don't know pshat why
Hashem's doing this. I want to tell you
places that this brings me to.
Now, Hashem's talking. I don't say this
is the answer. I don't know the answer.
Thinking about this brings me certain
places, but I want to think with you.
So, it's the difference in saying, "I
heard a nice vert." And I'm not saying a
vert. Hashem's talking to us. I'm trying
to listen, trying to hear. I
want you to hear this well.
The end of parshas Yisro, it could
easily be missed. Parshas Yisro is an
like a parsha in the Torah, a very
important parsha. Kabbalas Torah, Aseres
Hadibros, like big things happen in the
parsha.
All the way tucked at the end of the
parsha, the last possuk in parshas
Yisro,
says the following command, "It's a
mitzvah in the Torah."
Very interesting mitzvah. We all know we
had a Beis Hamikdash where Hashem
dwells. What does it mean, Avian,
Hashem's in the Beis Hamikdash? Hashem's
everywhere.
What do you mean Hashem lives in the
Beis Hamikdash, Yitzchiel? Hashem's
everywhere.
The Rebbe said the whole world is the
whole world's Hashem. There's only
Hashem. What do you mean he lives there?
Hashem's there. There is only Hashem.
But he doesn't retreat from anywhere.
Not If he retreated somewhere for a
second, it wouldn't exist. It is only
God.
What ever we say Hashem lives in the
Beis Hamikdash, it means there it's
easier to experience him. That's what it
means. Simple shot.
That there's there's big Torah, it's the
easiest place to experience him. That's
what it means.
He made a place that's called simson.
There's reasons for it. Hashem made a
place that it's easier to experience
God. In the Mikdash, you can easier
access Hashem's everywhere.
No, but you can easier I'm not here to
like a lecture. I don't think that takes
away from free will, but I but I we can
discuss free will, but there's a place
that's free will, yeah, and there's a
place that it's easier to access Hashem.
The words of Beis Hamikdash, it's easier
to experience him, yeah. Sham navodcha
b'yirah es Mikdashi tir'u. The Mikdash
is a metzius where it's easier to access
Hashem. Now, you hear that's just good
to know. That's like at the simplest
there there's things to study, I
promise, but there's but the simplest
level, like the way we could like oh, I
could hear that. I could access Hashem
easier there. It's easier to experience
God. That's the simplest way to
understand it. Now, in the Beis
Hamikdash, there's a mizbeiach.
It's a fascinating place. It's one of
the wildest place to imagine. It's a
mizbeiach, you offer things to God.
That's that any thinking person knows.
That's like woah. Like what? Really? A
human being goes and gives a gift to
Hashem. Does Hashem enjoy that gift?
What's happening? God doesn't eat. So,
what does that mean? Amazing place, the
mizbeiach. It's one of the most
beautiful places on earth. God is saying
that I could get you can give me
something. And that's part it's one of
the great condition of the world. God is
perfect, but he allows for that's the
deepest Simson in the place where you
most can experience Hashem. He allows
that you can give him a gift. That's the
misbehave. Incredible place to
misbehave. The misbehave of the biggest
condition of our existence is that
Hashem wants us and wants our service
and our service matters. It's the
biggest condition of our existence. It's
the deepest Simson of the world that
Hashem made a creation and wants their
service. The misbehave is a pillar. You
go there and you give a gift to Hashem.
That's the misbehave. Now,
on this misbehave, there's a law. This
is not such a famous law. I want you to
know we're studying it today. You came
on a Tuesday afternoon and we're going
to study a fascinating law.
The misbehave one of the most fast maybe
the most fascinating place on earth. The
place that tells us the human being is
wanted his service is wanted. Give a
gift to Hashem. Connect to Hashem.
You're capable of deeply connecting to
God.
There's a way up to the misbehave. You
have to listen to this. I want you to
hear this.
The rule is this is a law for you. I
don't know if you know this law, but
it's good to know. We're going to study
one person in Hashem's Torah. We're not
looking for words. We're looking like
God's talking to us. So, Hashem says
misbehave, there you give gifts to
Hashem. You bring carbonized to Hashem.
What type of carbon is to we bring have
her? You could give a schlemiel. A
schlemiel is a gift you just want to
connect to Hashem. You have feelings of
gratitude, appreciation, Akiva. You're
just feeling good. You're like loving
your family, Akiva, and you want to give
a gift to Hashem. You could bring a
carbon shlamim. If you want a random
Tuesday, you say, "I just want to feel
so good about you, Hashem. Hashem, I
want to thank you." It's a shlamim. You
can bring other carbonos. If somebody
had bad thoughts, you bring a carbon
oila. Somebody did an aveira bishgag, by
accident, there's a chatas. There are
different carbonos that one can bring.
Some of them have certain requirements,
certain things have to have to happen.
Shlamim, you could bring on a random
Tuesday. You want to connect to God, you
bring a shlamim.
Clearly, when you bring carbonos, Aviad,
I want you to We're going to learn a
possuk. You want to learn a possuk with
me? I think we'll gain from learning a
possuk. We'll know words. You want to
hear what Hashem tells us?
There's a mizbei'ach in the in the Beis
Hamikdash, the holiest place where human
being literally can experience God, and
there's a mizbei'ach in there. On the
mizbei'ach has the following law. I want
you to know this law. Remember it for
your life. It was taught to us by
Hashem. Velo yisaleh b'ma'alos al
mizbei'ach. No ladder of steps.
Issur d'Oraisa. It is forbidden. You
know in Yiddishkeit, you can't eat
chazer. You can't eat pig meat. Do you
know there's a law that up to the
mizbei'ach, velo yisaleh b'ma'alos al
mizbei'ach, you cannot have steps. Velo
yisaleh b'ma'alos al mizbei'ach, you're
not allowed to have steps up to the
mizbei'ach.
So, how pray tell do you get up to the
mizbei'ach? Has to be a ramp. It is
issur d'Oraisa, it's a law in the Torah,
velo yisaleh b'ma'alos al mizbei'ach, no
steps up to the mizbei'ach. Why? Lo
sigaleh ervas chalaf. When you spread
out your feet, there's a stickle like
gili arayos, it's not such kavod to
what's underneath you.
Don't spread out your feet. Now, even
though the Kohain Gadol was wearing
pants,
so nothing is seen when he spreads out,
he's not in a robe, he's in pants,
but there's some like a stickle gilyah
arayos, it's not covered. I'd like to
study Rashi. Rashi is quoting a Medrash.
A Medrash is from Tana'im. Rashi's
quoting Tana'im. I'd like to learn a
Rashi. There's an issur in our Torah to
have steps up the Mizbei'ach.
There must be a ramp. If you have steps,
you have to spread your feet very far to
walk up steps. A ramp doesn't require
the spreading of feet far. There has to
be a ramp up to the Mizbei'ach, no
steps. Very like anybody studying God's
Torah is like, "Whoa, you care?" Yeah,
Hashem cares. He's talking to us. He's
talking to me. He's talking to you. And
God has a command that he says, "A lot
of rules here, rules. You're you're not
allowed to walk with steps up the
Mizbei'ach. It must be a ramp." What is
this?
Says Rashi,
let's read the two Rashis. Kisha'at
bo'ina bama, sheta'at bo'ina keves
lamizbei'ach, when you make a ramp, a
way up to the Mizbei'ach, lo sa'aseh
umaylas maylas, don't make it leveled
like steps.
Ela chaluk yehei, should be flat. It's
not let it be layered. Has to be flat
umeshupa' and slanty. What we call ramp,
assur d'oraysa to make steps.
Rashi explains it. The words are lesalel
bemaylas. It can't be a ladder-like. It
cannot be ladder-like. It has to be flat
and slanty. No ladders. No steps up,
explains Rashi.
Shal yedaya maylas, it's funny. I'm
always into ladders. Now, all of a
sudden, to the Mizbei'ach, you could
I want you to hear.
Text it to your entire thing right
after, but I want you to hear the whole
thing. If this If the guy is checking
his phone also, then you're not with me.
With me or again, I want in. No phones.
You'll text to your whole Everybody
should hear this on your list, but after
we're done.
There's some people who like guys
writing notes during the shiur. I'd
rather not. There's such a thing. People
do it to help focus. I like two people
talking. I really want to study Torah.
He does like this. I really want to
study together. I want to like We're not
like saying words. I want to like
connect to something. What do you say,
Reb Ezzy?
>> [laughter]
>> So says Rashi, listen to this.
Listen Says Rashi, "Shall you
mylist through steps or rungs, at the
you have to spread out your feet. You
have to spread out your feet. You have
to spread out your feet.
There's no revealing of the ervah.
Sharix also say bad. The cohen's wearing
pants. Me call my office have say this.
Spreading out your feet currently
ervahu to stickle of
of of a closed place. But the
minute beside
you'll be
beside you underneath you.
So don't do that. It's like not
appropriate to underneath, explains
Rashi. By
call the claimer.
It's the following call the claimer. Who
have on them all of them all of them
these stones. You're walking on stone.
Shame them does have them. They don't
care to be embarrassed. Yet the tire yet
Hashem says, "How you say
you need them? Listen I mean beside you.
Don't be
some sort of beside you this."
Have
your friend who's with
you
in the form of your creator. Who
have beside you this. cares when you
Allah has come a comma. Don't be a
Mivazeh.
So, watch this. God wants all of us to
know when you're going on the Mizbeach
to bring a korban,
you walk to Mizbeach, the normal thing
would have to steps up to the Mizbeach.
That'll be the normal thing to have some
sort of ladder, some sort of steps to
climb. There are no steps, a ramp. A
ramp, you come in here for handicapped
people, tremendous respect, they have
ramps. For everybody else, use the
steps. Very normal, you come up to the
Beit Hamikdash steps. All of a sudden,
you come to the Mizbeach, you where the
steps? There are no steps here. There's
a ramp. Why? This way you shouldn't
spread out your feet. Why not? Not to be
Mivazeh what's underneath you.
It's not so nice what's underneath you.
Not to embarrass, disgrace.
Cuz when you spread your feet, it's
a little bit disgraceful what's
underneath you.
In a ramp, you don't have to walk far.
You can you walk very close. You can
just take little steps. In a step, the
just so Aviad says, "What?" Then they
walked to the Mizbeach. Yeah, they had
running And by the way, by the way,
there's no halacha. I want to express
this. There's no halacha. Does it ever
say the Kohanim can't take a big step
when he goes up the ramp? No. There's a
ramp built cuz it's saying something. On
steps, you're forced to do it. It's
built in a way like be careful what's
underneath. Respect what's underneath.
Now, there's no halacha. There could
have been a halacha when you walk up,
you can only go an inch. There's no such
din.
This not having steps and having a ramp
is to teach us something that you should
be very careful what's underneath. And
the main lesson is the the ramp doesn't
care, but the main lesson is your
friend. Don't be nice to the Zion to
your friend. It's a lesson. The ramp
doesn't care, and still you should be
careful. You need it. Be very respectful
what's underneath. Certainly your friend
should be careful. My question I want to
ask every guy here. Hashem's talking to
us. I'm not saying a flirt and I don't
know p'shat. I don't have a kind of
agenda of a p'shat. I have thoughts that
this question leads me to. Akiva, do you
hear this halakha?
A law in Hashem's Torah. Going up to
mizbe'ach, what's the law? Are you What
are you not allowed to have? No steps.
You have to have a ramp. Why? You have a
ramp. Steps, you have to spread your
feet out far. Spreading your feet is not
nice to what's underneath.
It's k'ilu if the person would not have
pants it would be a robe it would be
revealed in closed places. It's not
appropriate. So you have a ramp you
could be noig more koved to what's
underneath you. Does the ramp get
insulted?
The ramp doesn't get insulted. It's a
message if you have to be careful with
the ramp that doesn't care, your friend
you definitely have to be careful.
Friend's not your ramp.
It's a lesson. The same way you're
careful to this, you you who doesn't
even care but it's a reminder. Your
friend does care. Be careful.
Now why in the world I'm going to give a
gift to Hashem?
What What Elio?
>> I thought it's so far-fetched. Elio says
it's far-fetched. That's very That's a
very fair question. Elio is like,
"What?" But the guy on his way up to the
mizbe'ach has some message. Let's say
the mizbe'ach can talk. The ramp can
talk. It's saying something. This ramp
says be careful on that which is beneath
you. Your friend, be careful on his
koved. That's what the ramp says.
Why is this the message on the way up?
Let's say there was like a video
recording that said this. Be careful
with your friend's honor. Be That's what
the ramp is.
I like your Elio, does it really make me
think that fair question. Chazal say
that the point of a ramp not stairs is
that there's a message of not being the
value of that, which is underneath you.
And my question, is why is that like why
are we whispering to the coin going to
talk to Hashem? Why is this Why are we
whispering this to him?
He's climbing the ramp to Hashem. He's
climbing the mizbeach. He's going to
bring a carbon.
And there's a messaging of the ramp.
Yechiel, you hear the rule You hear the
halacha? What's the law, Yechiel? What's
the law? Guy climbing the mizbeach, what
law do you have to keep?
There's no law, small steps. But that
What's the law that you're not allowed
to have? You're not allowed to have
steps up to the mizbeach. What do you
have instead?
A ramp. Why can't you have steps?
Cuz steps force the man to split to step
far. That's You're forced to go up the
step. That would be a minute bizayon to
that which is underneath him.
And you can't be noig bizayon. Does this
Does the ramp care? Does what's
underneath you care? No. But it's a
message if you can't be noig to this
minute bizayon, your friend who does
care, certainly be careful. So, it's
talking to you and saying don't be
mevalish that which is underneath you.
Be careful, your friend's covered.
Why is that the whisper on the way up to
the mizbeach?
You're going to serve Hashem. Why is
that the whisper? I want to say three
things that I think of when I hear this.
I'm not coming to say a word. I'm like
really studying Hashem's Torah. I'm open
to whatever you want to say. I'm telling
this the real This is the halacha. This
is the din.
First, we have the fact we can't This is
what I yet see what Hashem says to us.
Avram, you hear this law? You ever knew
this law, Avram? So nice to study Torah.
Yechiel, you ever knew this law?
I want you to say the words to me. I'm
not making this up. Vilai sala.
Bima'alais.
Al mizbechi.
Now, those words mean, don't go up by
salah, don't go up by mailis with steps
Al Misbechi. Don't walk up steps up to
my Misbeach.
Al Shalo Yisigaleh Ervas Chalav. I don't
want you to reveal your erva, your
private places.
That's meva'ish what's underneath you.
Don't do that.
Now, that's a good question. Do you have
to take small steps? Fair question. It's
interesting. What?
They do wear pants. They do.
It's interesting. It's a whisper that's
saying to a person, be careful not to be
meva'ish your friend.
Amazing. The guys were It's amazing. Do
you know how Hashem expects I always
when I read this possuk, like Hashem
really expects us to think that's not
cool. Like we're we're supposed to be
curious.
I think one of the greatest things we
crush out of people is curiosity. I
think got Some people have asked me two
guys Guys are going to go learn in
Israel next year. Avi is going to learn
there in Israel. You're going to go
learn Maybe the biggest thing is
curiosity. I like Yechiel when a guy
sits down to learn My own children,
Tzvi,
be curious. Like just I like explore
It's funny. One of the guys asked me a
question our second seder. I was so
proud of him. Don't listen. You should
ask that. Whatever you're curious about,
like explore. Torah is like cool. You
could find out stuff. Like reals Hashem
really like tells us big secrets. Ben
Yamin has found areas of Torah he's
curious and I like that. He's curious.
Be curious. Discover. And there's
endless things. Hashem talks to us and
is really telling us things. My son I am
proud of my kids. Yaakov's curious.
Menachem's curious. Maishy, Hudi. And
they have found you could be curious in
Torah, I promise. And like discover
crazy stuff. Don't like hold yourself
back. And don't let No, you're not Don't
ask that question. Ask everything.
Really ask, but be curious. But be open
to like learn to start a sham. Tyra is
crazy. Hashem talks to us.
Let your curiosity go. We What When the
guy asked what the husband and Kallah
David That was so cool. With the husband
and Kallah to go out liquid husband I
liquid was like very smart. He was right
like explore think you could pick the
nudgiest thing in the Gamora you'll find
like crazy stuff. Things are exact.
There's like Now I might not want to
look into that. That's not
Right. Sometimes like I'm figuring other
things out in the Sugya.
Yeah, the higher the Sugya there's such
a thing. But a guy is curious there's
what to explore in every nook and
cranny. Here Hashem
There's a law in our Torah that when you
climb the steps of the Mizbeach you're
on a ramp. It's weird to climb up a
ramp. By the way, ramps are slippery.
They're not the most efficient. There's
a reason typically to any building on
planet Earth there's steps not a ramp. I
have two floors. I have three floors in
my house. I have a basement, a regular
floor, and a park of Hashem a rich guy.
And to get to everyone I have steps.
There's no ramps. To get to my basement
there's steps down, steps up. To get to
my second floor there's steps. This is
like the weirdest thing when you go up
to the second to the Mizbeach you want
to climb. No steps allowed. Assur
Deoraisa. Memorize the words. You're not
allowed to climb steps to get up to my
Mizbeach.
You're not allowed to climb steps to get
up to my Mizbeach.
First get the law. Akiva amazing. It's
good to learn Torah. You heard this law?
Look I want you to see the possuk. Come
cakes.
You're not allowed to climb steps to get
up to my Mizbeach. Don't climb with
steps onto my Mizbeach.
If I shouldn't have steps, how do I get
up? A ramp. It's assur Deoraisa to build
steps. Somebody builds steps they did an
assur Deoraisa like eating chazer.
You're not allowed to have steps. Why
not?
Why not? Cuz not nice. Cuz Cuz
underneath you you are vayish.
This what Chazal tell us. This what
Chazal It's funny. I like Akiva says
like Chazal says don't go up with with
step
Hashem does say
I don't want you to show a covered place
on top of it. So Hashem says then the
possuk I don't want you spreading out
your feet. Means be careful what's
underneath. Don't be mevaish.
Comes and Chazal explain if you're not
mevaish the steps, your friend certainly
not. Clearly there's some messaging
climbing the mizbeach don't be mevaish
your friend.
Now I want to express three thoughts.
I think don't embarrass your friend.
That's like the messaging.
Now why are we telling this? It's a
weird time. Anytime Hashem wants to talk
to me I'm willing to listen. And by the
way why should a guy disgrace his friend
Akiva? It's a very good message don't
disgrace your friend. Why is that what
you're telling a guy who's climbing a
mizbeach? For heaven's sake the guy's
going to bring a carbon. He's connecting
to God in a very deep and special way.
And in his connection to God there's a
whisper. Don't be mevaish your friend.
Don't be mevaish your friend. Clearly I
have three things that it makes me think
about.
Yeah this Danny. I am fascinated by
these I'm not trying to say a word. I am
really bothered the question I would ask
Yitzy. And guys could ask other
questions. The question I have Yitz that
bothers me when I study this. And guys
are asking is such a far-fetched message
and I do agree with that it's like don't
spread your feet. I And there's much to
learn. Every detail you could think
about here. It's like such an
interesting and it's like don't spread
out your feet. You're wearing pants
Yitzy yes I I promise there's what to
study and you could think about Hashem's
turn, you'll be richer for it. And spend
the time thinking about what he's
saying. I'm bothered, Yitzy. Why is this
the time to give this guy the message?
For heaven's sake, the guy's climbing to
bring a carbon and Hashem's talking to
him. I want to hear what you have to
say, by the way. Why why is Hazal the
guy? Hazal is the guy I don't get it.
Like he he decides his own things and
now we're going to Hazal and see I
decide something. I look at this for a
second and I'm saying
a whole different answer. Why would you
just Wow, that's very cool. That's very
cool. He said let's say I read this
pasuk and I see something else in the
pasuk. So that's a very good question. I
like that. I like what he asked. I want
to start I want to I I want to address
that. I do want to say that the pasuk
just to get clear the pasuk says don't
climb up
steps. Has to be a ramp, that's the
pasuk. Don't climb steps and it says
you're being nigaleh your ervah. Says
that you're you're being mevalesh all of
it. You're you're showing your ervah to
the ramp. That's in the pasuk. Hazal
here did say some kal vachomer. Now
Akiva says let's say I see something
different in the pasuk than Hazal.
Believe it or not there were rishonim
and achronim that would say learn things
from psukim on their own and you're
allowed to do that, 100%. We believe
Hazal learned Torah with such purity
that that's Torah also, the way our
chachamim, the way the tanayim learned
it. But you are allowed to study a pasuk
and have your own thoughts, 100% valid.
There Rashi will say Hazal say this and
I want to say different. Ramban does
that. Ramban Ramban does that, that's
valid. So I want to express that. It is
kedai to study how tanayim learned the
pasuk, it's kedai. They they had a
purity and they bring By the way, if you
say a pshet in the pasuk hits you, I
care about that. You're an honest Yid
studying Torah. What the pasuk hits you,
what Hashem's word Hashem speaks through
us, it's called Torah Shebaal Peh. He
writes something and a tzaddik learns it
and how the tzaddik processes it matters
to me. So, let's get the pasuk. The
pasuk's remarkable. The guy is walking
up the mizbeach. He What's the law? No
steps, ramp. Why ramp? Don't spread your
feet, don't be mevalesh what's
underneath you. Don't valesh underneath
you, certainly not your friend. That's
what's said here.
What And my question is, Akiva, why are
we telling the guy who's about to bring
a korban and he's getting close to
Hashem, don't be mevalesh your friend?
So, I want to share three things. Why is
now the time and place to tell him not
to embarrass his friend? Seems such an
awkward It's not Is the guy trying to
embarrass his friend? He's climbing up
to give a gift to God. It's like him and
God. He's not thinking about another
person. He's not like He's an innocent
fellow. It seems to me such a funny
thing to whisper. A guy is getting
closer to Hashem.
And you whisper. Can you picture Can you
I I want to hear.
Can you picture, chevre, a guy is in the
beit midrash late at night, 1:00 in the
morning in the dorm beit midrash, you
see, and the guy is learning Torah
shhtark. And you whisper in his ear,
"Don't embarrass your friend." What's
this? Oh, okay, thank you. That's true.
I'm just like very curious. A guy is
giving a gift to Hashem. It's very nice
to give a gift to Hashem. He's not
trying to hurt. If he was in the middle
of doing something that's like hurtful
to somebody, I would say this makes
sense what you're telling him. It seems
so awkward. He's climbing up the
mizbeach to to give a gift to Hashem.
He's connecting to God. So nice. It's
like wonderful. And you whisper
something which seems so out of touch.
Like, when you tell some A guy is
learning late at night, 1:00 in the
morning, you whisper in his ear, "Make
sure not to hurt any."
>> [clears throat]
>> He's like, "Excuse me? Like, yeah,
you're right. I just wasn't hurting
anybody."
If If you went to the gym during leagues
and a guy's screaming at the ref and you
said, "Please be careful not to hurt
somebody." Well, I get it. You're in the
middle of a tight DBL game. You've just
You're about to scream at the refs.
You're allowed to scream at the refs.
So, I whisper in your ear,
"Please don't hurt anybody." This guy's
giving a gift to Hashem, misbayach. He's
climbing the ramp to God to hand
something, to connect to God. And in his
climb to connect to God, what's
whispered to him? The way Chazal explain
it to us, Kivi, the way big tzadikim who
studied Torah explain it to us with
purity, just trying to understand what
Hashem is saying. And the Chazal tell us
it is a message of not to be mevayesh,
not to be noiger minik chaveircha, your
friend who's a demutza Hashem, al achas
kama kama, don't be noiger minik
bizyonis, don't be mevayesh. Care,
respect your friend.
That's this message of the ramp.
And my question is, why is that the
message to the guy climbing up to bring
a korban? Like like what? That's my
question. Fair question, Akiva?
That's what I'm asking. Yeah, it's fair
question.
I like I'm not saying vertum. I just
can't You know what I'm saying? I'm not
going to
I'm like really trying to hear what
Hashem's telling me. He's told me
something. I want to study it. I want to
absorb it. I want to I have no agenda.
My I Any pshat you want, I'm studying
Hashem's Torah. I really Torah is very
kedai. You really could study it and
have opinions, come out with something,
figure out something. You really could
figure Hashem really talks to us. We
could You're richer from understanding
it. Does everybody have the halacha in
the parsha? Very unique halacha, not a
famous halacha. We now learned the pasuk
in the Torah. We learned Chazal what
they're telling us on the pasuk. And why
is that the message the guy walking up
Leo yes
we're we're saying not to embarrass what
the physical stones the ground I'm
looking at the embarrassment is also
sham and the guy is gone the guy is gone
the stones but I'll I'll read the words
you need them even says it says
the Adam
the minute beside you and you're being
naive on the stones like like
a minute beside you and you're being
naive a minute of this grace the
steps underneath you
don't care
yet I shall say since you have it served
them you need them
wait tonight I mean it beside you and
don't be naive beside you and this
things you need respect them
so it's interesting yet he says why am I
being naive anywhere I go I shouldn't I
shall choose here to teach it to me yeah
you should be naive beside you and to
anywhere you should be careful on things
you need think it's it's funny there's a
sad day in months he have Schwab it's a
big sad day in months he is in a little
my butt today when he finished with his
clothing he would like put them out in a
very delicate way cuz he used them he
had to respect to it it mattered to him
it was a precious piece I like this type
of behavior things that about you value
that that served you well like like
treat properly it it meant something to
you like not to not to disregard
disrespect he would like disregard old
clothing in a very respectful manner he
said they served me I'm not just like
chucking them there's a certain respect
so it's amazing says here but this
specifically on the way up to the
misbehave where I shall told us things
you need and service you treat with
respect service to you it mattered
certainly and the the thing doesn't care
doesn't get angry not insulted certainly
your friend you should be nice.
Something that serves you, be very
delicate with it.
And it chose to tell to me in this way.
I You see, I And anybody would ask, are
you allowed to walk upstairs?
Yeah, you're allowed to It shows here a
very delicate and sensitive way of
saying that which serves you, be me
covered. And certainly if What? That's
what I'm asking.
That's what I'm asking. Why is here and
now I'm going up to make a carbon I'm
very innocent. Why are you giving me
this like sensitive lesson of respect to
your friends? Respect that which doesn't
even care. And the carbon that you're
supposed to come to, why is that the
message in here? Clearly you're you're
intrigued a little bit.
I'm like very curious. Hashem tells me
things. He's saying something to me. I I
always would carry the mizbeach is a
crazy place.
It's in many ways the base of migdash is
the center of the world. And the set the
base mission is the place a human being
can experience God. The center of the
base of migdash, the place you can hand
a gift to Hashem.
The mizbeach says the wildest thing that
the service of a person is like
I'm like one said like appreciates our
gifts. It's crazy.
Now
you feel.
To marry a lady you have to give her a
pruta. Could she give him money and
they're married?
The answer is yes. If he's a Adam Hashav
and him accepting from her is like,
you're accepting from me? He can marry
her. He gave her something by accepting.
If a big person takes something from
you, you like feel good about it.
>> let me do that? It's like really? Oh my
gosh.
Yeah, I give things to guys here and I
feel very I feel when guys take
something I like a lot.
>> [laughter]
>> It feels very good. When an Adam Hashav
accepts a gift from you, you feel good.
If I ask Akiva, I give Akiva a gift, I
promise you I feel good when you accept
it from me. You gave me something, I
feel good.
I once asked my Rebbe, I once asked my
Rebbe spoke about giving and taking. So,
I he spoke about being a giver from Reb
Dessler. I told him if nobody takes,
we'll have no givers, and he told me the
best givers take to give.
There are times you take something cuz
somebody feels good to give it to you.
Wow. It's a time even a guy who's not a
taker. Chaim Zev is not a taker. I know
him well, he's not a taker. He's not a
guy who quickly would take a gift. But
if it makes somebody feel good, he
takes.
Makes somebody feel good. There are
times that we're taking from parents.
We've all taken a gift cuz the person
really feels good when I give it to you.
There's even a group
There's even times There are times the
main times you should take in your life
is when the giver really will feel good.
You Imagine if my kid said me If Moishe
Moishe wants to go somewhere and I give
him money, Moishe said, "I don't want to
take from you, Tati." He'd be wrong, by
the way.
I I feel horrible. As a father, I
promise I want to give my son, and I
feel good when he takes. Feel good. The
ultimate one who takes and we feel good,
Hashem takes our gifts. The Mizbeach,
you can give me a gift and I want it.
So, it's crazy. It's So, the Miz To me,
like the Mizbeach is like the craziest
place on Earth. On the way up to the
Mizbeach, Hashem whispers to us.
He whispers to us to open the vius, your
friend.
Huh?
Like, was the guy thinking about being a
vius? That's my kashya. Yechiel, that's
my kashya to the chevra. That's what I
want to study.
Yechiel, you with me?
We're all with you, Rebbe.
Thank you, Reb Ezi. Rebbe, do you think
there's an objective
When it comes to like the drashas and
like what God's trying to teach us,
it's up to us to extrapolate from the
circuit, but like I want to study tires.
I want to study tires. Is there an
objective truth?
And the tire is an objective truth. Avi,
what are you attaining?
Signing my tennis shoes here. It's a
case. But if you if you're taking is a
way of giving, then you're not you're
not breaking that.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Avi, I want to figure out what Hashem is
saying. Hashem wants me to study this,
and I want to figure it out. What I what
I what I
th- this is the question.
I want to hear from Chaim Zev what hits
you.
Avi, let's hear what hits Chaim Zev in
this problem. You ever knew this
halacha, Avi?
Isn't that a cool halacha?
So, let's hear Chaim Zev what hits. I'm
thinking that it's the cohen doing it
for the Yisrael, so Yisrael
[clears throat] comes with his carbon
for something, and the cohen could feel
like better than him. He could feel
like, "Oh, I'm the guy that's taking
care of this this guy's carbon." So,
it's a message to the cohen to be
sensitive to the person bringing the
carbon.
>> Wow. Wow. Wow, that's beautiful.
>> [applause]
>> Avi says gorgeous that if if the guy Avi
said what?
Yeah. Avi says if the guy himself
brought carbon to the mizbeach,
the message is to the cohen. The cohen
served the rest of our people. So, the
cohen is accessing godliness to the for
the Yid. The the cohen is what? And to
the cohen it says be careful your
friend. You're like the man. You're the
cohen. It's talking to the cohen. I love
that p'shat. You're the guy like you're
the spiritual guy on top. You're like
helping the Yisrael. You're working with
the guy. Don't be nothing to your
friend.
I I so appreciate what you're saying. I
think there's a tremendous danger of
people like the have and the have-nots.
You can come to you you can the danger
somebody can be in a position he's the
he's the he's the cohen.
And you're like the the the fixed one
helping the the struggling guy and
there's an arrogance that's like
ridiculous. We're all human beings
trying working.
And the message to the cohen he was
bringing he was I love that. I like that
a lot. Yeah. He might just be right and
this is the law Chaim Zev said it's
talking to the cohen.
He was in charge. He was empowered to
teach to inspire to help be no you
covered to the next person.
Akiva there's a Rambam. The Rambam says
that a rebbe it's a Rambam perek of
hilchos talmud torah halacha yud gimmel.
The Rambam says a rebbe has to be
mechabed his talmidim.
The Rambam says this. Now you get in a
lot of trouble when you teach this cuz
you sound very liberal cuz kids have to
respect the rebbe and that's true.
But a rebbe has to respect the kids. Now
there's a respect for rebbe. I'm not
changing the order of things but there's
a din that the that the rebbe has to
respect the kids that creates people who
have kavod in them that can respect. And
Chaim Zev sees it as the cohen who's
going up. He's like assisting his Yisro
so it says be noig min hakavod to your
friend. Be careful.
People even your people you're maybe
in a way asked to be superior than your
your the cohen you're like the accessing
it. So the message guy I like that a lot
Chaim Zev. It like rings that it could
be emes.
Probably is. I mean the Hashem saying
here the message to the cohen is is
right Russ what do you say to Chaim Zev
saying that the message specifically is
the cohen. There's somebody bringing the
carbon. It's talking to the one bringing
be noig min hakavod. You're in charge.
You're accessing you're helping somebody
noig min hakavod. I love it. I love it a
lot.
Shot one. I don't And this is what Avi
Reichman says intelligent. Avi said, "Do
you know?" That's what I love when we
study Hashem's Torah. It is objective.
You'll get smarter. It says about the
mitzvah Hashem machimas pesel.
They make the fool smart. Mitzvas Hashem
teach us things and access things to us.
Hashem means a lot. Can you prove it?
Hashem's talked us really study. You'll
be better for it contemplating the word
of Hashem. Good things will happen.
Hashem meant us to study his word. We're
sitting here today as I don't want to
say a fart. That's why I'm like being a
little aggressive. Like okay, so I could
say at my shot and a fart's good to say
over. I really want to like try to like
Hashem's saying something. He's talking
like and then I'm moved by it. I can be
moved. It can mean something. It can it
can elevate me. I think that the
messaging to a cohen and many times in
all our life we're going to be cohanim.
>> [cough]
>> Yidden by their nature are mamleches
cohanim.
As parents we're cohanim of sorts for
our children. As rebbeim we're cohanim.
There's many A cohen is when you're in
that position where you're assisting
another, there could be a lot of
arrogance, a lot of like the troubled
one. I don't I don't I I think that's
just awful. It misses the mark. Be
careful. Be na'ig menahel.
You picture the cohen and the sinner
comes. You bring the chatas and he looks
at like the poor sinner. Where is it? A
guy, fellow humans. Fellow humans, be
na'ig menahel. Be careful. And as he
goes up the ramp bringing somebody
else's carbon, he's taught it's a ramp
not steps. Be na'ig menahel. And he's
reminded your friend the respect, the
beauty, the dignity that is his friend.
He's reminded of that. I think that's
beautiful. I think it's emes. I think
it's MS. And could that be what I share
meant? Could be.
Could be very strong cuz I like the chat
a lot. Thank you, I very very sensitive.
Yes, [snorts] Benjamin, you like I am
there for sure.
So, why?
No, you're trying to get closer to God
and there's also the fact that career is
I'm sorry. I don't know. I don't I don't
have any like connection for him, but
obviously there's some maybe some
connection between them.
Yeah. Yeah. I want to I want to express
what Benjamin just said. Different idea
than I am there.
I want to express whenever somebody
grows in this, there's always the
danger. Somebody's close to God, there's
always the danger of arrogance. You've
acquired something real. You're going
climbing on the bear. You're getting
close to him. There's always the danger
of when you acquire an MS of looking
down at other people
and and as you're climbing the bear and
you're acquiring a real connection to
God, Abby, there's always the danger of
like seeing somebody else and like
looking down as you climb, looking down
on others. You're really climbing place
and getting closer to him. Wow.
And the message to the guy on the way up
to the bear is don't don't use this that
you're acquiring. You're getting real
things. You're getting close to God.
You're climbing the bear. Be careful not
to be annoying to other people. There's
the tendency as you climb, you could
look down.
A guy picture a guy and this is all real
things. The guy's coming to share. He's
coming to share. He's on fire. I want to
say I like Abby a lot. Like tons. I
respect you a ton. I watch as you're
growing that you're nice to others and I
see I see a world not not a judge you as
you're taking and adding and growing
tremendously. I respect that a lot. I
think that's one of the I think I
suspect I hear that you're climbing the
mizbeach, don't be mevalish other
people. There could be the tendency as
you grow, as you discover Hashem, to
look at other people in a certain way.
And as you're climbing the mizbeach,
don't be mevalish other people. You're
climbing, you're growing, you're
growing, you're growing, you're growing,
you're growing, you're growing, you're
growing, you're growing, you're growing,
you're growing, you're growing, you're
growing, Use this place you're at and
and see others in a delicious, wonderful
way. Don't use this to rate others. And
specifically the messaging and the
danger of climbing. Because you really
acquire, you go on the mizbeach. You're
getting real, you are connecting. Make
sure it's not in a place to to to be
mevalish other people.
So Chaim Zev says, "How can What What do
you want from a person?" That's a good
question. I really have. I look at a
guy. The guy I'm really The guy is doing
good things. What do you want from me? I
think the innate goodness that is a
human There's an innate goodness in a
human being. Be in touch with that. To
recognize we all have We all have our
strengths, but to see the innate
goodness. It's a sugya, but I think the
messaging to a guy climbing is to make
sure to see good in others as you're
climbing.
There's a Chofetz Chaim who says very,
very similar to this.
Very, very similar. I want to speak I
want to speak about a third thing that's
So far we have two ideas that are like
very powerful.
I want to speak about a third thing that
like hits me here that I want to share
with the guys. Here's the third thing.
So far we have Chaim Zev speaking to
Kohanim. Whenever you're in a place of
assisting another Yid, there's a danger
of being mevalish another Yid. And Chaim
Zev says it's a message to the Kayan.
I like that a lot. And he might be
right.
We have Binyamin, a message to any Yad
climbing to Hashem, that you're
climbing, don't be mevaish, it's very
nice you're growing. Don't look down at
another. Don't be judgy on another. See
another in a good way. We have two like
beautiful pshatim that each one is
worthy of of being of thinking about and
analyzing.
I want to talk about a third
possibility. Here it comes. Okay,
Binyamin, but I I'm I'm not this
>> I think all I'm saying is not like
it's obviously all-inclusive, but
you know, it like you guys depend on
each [snorts] other. It's not just you
specifically, you know, like there's
like a collective soul of like, you
know, the Jewish people. Like obviously
like there I I wasn't like forming like
a contextualized like idea, but I'm
saying obviously one has
to lean on the other.
So, the area you just
what I heard the first time I said over,
let me ask if this is closer to what you
what I hear you saying now, because I
have a third idea. Again, I'm studying a
fact that there's a law, this is
unarguable, Ari Yad, that you can't walk
up steps up the mizbeach to ram. The
Torah says not to be mevaish the ramp
like segulah ervos kol Allah, don't
mevaish the ramp. And Chazal tell us
don't be mevaish your friend.
That was the message in Avram climbing
the mizbeach.
I want to share, Ari Yad, the following
thing, and I have seen this a lot in my
life. I'm going to tell you a specific
story, but it's nogaya me and you and
all of us, and I've seen this a lot. I
want to say the two pshatim that were
already said mean a lot to me.
Chaim Zev's pshat, I cannot handle when
somebody's like a rebbe figure and he's
the fixed and you're the broken. Be
quiet, knock it off. That's not It's not
reality. It's not We're all humans going
through it. Don't be the guy to fix the
with broken and broken fixed and fixed.
And we're all trying to We all have
fixed parts. We have a neshama that's
wonderful. We have challenges.
It's a sensitive area to me. And to the
cohen walking up and saying, "Be noig
men a koved." I think it's always a time
to whisper to the cohen that. And I
think that whisper resonates a lot.
Chaim Zev, I think it's just the truth.
It's a truth everybody has to be true
to. You could feel when people aren't
living like that and it just it's wrong.
It's a sheker. It's a lie. So, I like
Chaim Zev said a lot. What Binyamin,
what I heard in Binyamin the first time,
I've seen people growing and using their
growth to look down at others. That's
not it. That's not it. It's not the
sugia. I think Chaim Zev did When people
grow healthy, they didn't flip out and
change. They discovered the normal way
of growing should be. You see koved in
others. Cuz you found yourself, so you
should see it in him.
So, we get climbing the mizbeach. It's
you're actually climbing if what if what
is is more koved to people.
So, you cuz you've discovered yourself.
So, then you should see it in him.
You've discovered your own self. If
shteiging is like some breakage of self
and something that's not you, so then
why should I look down at him? I like
took my I took my tin can and made
something out of me.
What does he do? But if I really like
uncover, then I should see goodness in
him as I'm growing.
I should see in him what maybe he
doesn't see in him.
The I want to share a third a third chat
Akiva that I've seen in my life that I
that I've seen as a truth in my life.
I'm going to say it from a story, but
I'm I'm bringing The story moves it away
from me, but I it's it's magaya me and
you Lally and I want to share this.
I would actually say this to any guy in
the dorm. I picture a guy in the dorm
trying to shteig, trying to grow, he's
trying to go to share, he's trying to
stake, and then like one of my roommates
fit into this as annoying roommates, the
people around them, they hold them down
like
I want it There's a lady There's a lady
who I respect a ton. She lived in a
forest in in um
She lived in a forest in Massachusetts
for about 15 years. She was serving
Hashem, very fascinating person. She
started became a baal teshuva, started
serving Hashem. She moved to Eretz
Yisrael, she got married, and she didn't
want to have kids. And I want to express
this is somebody in the most sincere way
was getting up crazy early in the
morning. She was praying a lot of the
day, a very serious servant to Hashem.
And she visualized having kids as a
disruption of her service of Hashem.
She's now going to be busy with that.
It was a disruption of her service.
And she went to ask the Amshinov Rebbe
that maybe she shouldn't have kids.
She went to ask the Rebbe maybe she
shouldn't have kids. Remarkable, she was
very close to the Amshinov the Reb the
Rebbe's wife, the Rebbetzin. She asked
for a meeting with the Rebbe. She got a
meeting, the Rebbe's hours are wild. She
got a meeting 2:00 3:00 in the morning
with the Amshinov Rebbe. She comes into
him to ask him this shaila maybe she
shouldn't have kids.
When she goes in the Rebbe is a servant
of Hashem. I don't I don't want to say
things now. I don't think he sleeps more
than a half hour straight for the last
many years. He has a whole system. He's
a fiery eved Hashem, Amshinov Rebbe.
He's a very big person. He makes
Havdalah, he keeps Shabbos till Tuesday.
He does not do melacha in my
understanding till Tuesday. That
Yeah. He's a very very holy special
person. I believe he makes Havdalah on
Tuesday, but I don't know exact. But
he's a very, very big tzaddik. Remesha
was asked about him a long time ago.
Remesha declared his year of shamayim.
He's a very, very big Remesha of
Einstein was asked about his money.
Is that possible?
I believe so.
He said his year of shamayim, I believe
so. The bottom line is the bottom line
is is that he's a big tzaddik. And she
goes in to ask him the shaila maybe she
doesn't have enough kids. When she comes
in Chaim Zev, he had his grandson on his
lap and was playing with his grandson
2:00, 3:00 in the morning.
Somehow seeing the rebbe,
I can't explain this to you. She comes
in, maybe I shouldn't have kids, and
this holy, pure man has a grandson on
his lap and is playing and she has no
more question.
Somehow seeing his love and focus, she
like understood that part of the biggest
growth she had two children. She was an
older lady, she had two children. She
had children. The rebbe said, "What's
your question?" She like
she didn't have any anymore. Somehow
seeing him play with his grandson told
her what she needed to hear.
What I want to express is for many, many
people trying to grow, trying to steig,
it consistently can look like people are
in the way of it. To the coil guy who's
trying to steig and then he has to like
balance, he has a wife, he has children.
And the message of Hashem that the climb
the mizbayach, be careful with your
friend, not just as a warning, as a way
up, that's the ramp itself, that's the
way of climbing up.
Not just like, well, it's a warning,
well, what [clears throat]
The method up is a is a ramp up which
itself speaks about honoring your
friend.
The ramp up to the mizbayach is a sugia
of kindness, of of caring, of
That's the the deepest and best way up.
All of us will have things in our life.
We're trying to tiger and annoying
roommate.
It feels he's in the way. The ramp up
itself is a ramp which says be nice to
your covenant. And all of us when we
take the time for the people in our
lives that are right there and we're and
and we learn to respect, to understand,
to appreciate, that itself is the path
up. Not only is it not in the way, not
is it is it a warning, the way up is a
ramp which says be nice to your covenant
to your friend.
That's how to you climb up a ramp.
That's how you get up.
Read my mind. I think I think that's
what strikes me a lot because I see in
all our lives the different
I see the difficult things, the
difficult people, difficult
circumstances that one could see it as a
like a frustration in trying to climb.
I'm just trying to climb. I'm just
trying to And then you have this
engaging that is the way up. Through
that is the way up. That's what I want
to suggest and what I hear from this is
the ramp itself, the very way up is a
ramp which says be nice to your covenant
to your friend. Be nice to your
covenant, take the time with patience,
with concern, with care. The ramp itself
up to the misbehave talks like this.
That's what that's that's what I want to
say I see in this. This lady just wants
to be close to Hashem. She's children,
I'm changing diapers. That's the ramp
up. The ramp up it says be nice to your
covenant to those around you. Those
responsibilities she was worried that
those responsibilities and worries and
care would detract from her
relationship. I actually think that
becomes the very ramp up.
That place that she makes space for the
other, that she cares, that she's taking
care, that she's concerned becomes the
way up. It's not in the way, it's
actually the ramp itself. The The method
of climbing is that which says, "Be no
your covered care." Hashem puts the
people in our lives through the care,
through the concerns, through the
presentness itself becomes our vehicle
of climbing. That's
>> Rabbi
That's what I want to suggest here.
Yeah?
Now we can write. Now we can write.
I I think there's I think there's a
beautiful truth here. I want to even In
Yeshiva, I want to say that most of the
steigering There was a reason I was
taking some account for recently. Most
of the steigering I see in guys is
through the relationships in their life.
It's not like a side thing. That The guy
working on his mother, his father, his
own kibbutz, his own relationship, his
brother, his sister.
That sugia is not like this side here. I
have like I'm trying to steig, and I
have like this this side like I'm like
fighting with my hands tied behind my
back.
I picture a guy as a difficult sister.
So, here he's like trying to grow. Not
only have to grow, but I have like a
sister I'm in this war to grow. I have
like my hands I'm being pulled
I look at it that the difficult things
and the situations as the person's
embracing and engaging is the very path
up to Hashem.
So, the ramp itself talks, and the ramp
The climbing up has a message. Be
careful with
who's not Be careful with this covered.
That is the ramp up.
Not even though you're climbing and
still That is the path up.
When I'm honest and I see guys,
I've had many bathroom where where they
all of a sudden like a guy has a
difficulty with a mother or a father
that feels a certain love not expressed,
whatever the thing. So, they say, "Here
I'm trying to grow and
and embracing that and engaging that in
healthy ways, talking, figuring out. I
see crazy steig towards Hashem. Like
incredible growth towards Hashem in
processing this. Hashem puts us in
situations that bring out our sugia,
that bring out our kirvas Hashem.
They're not an impetus, they're not in
the way, they're like that's your
journey up through the sugias of the
people around us.
That's what I want to suggest to the
chevre. That's That's what I hear in
these psukim. I think it's cool that the
ramp to God is a ramp that says be be be
be noye koved to the people around you.
Now you could ask on me, so why is it
koved? It means coming to relationship
that I can be mechabed. So there's a
sugia in each one around me, but
chavercha shol dmus ya itzrach magno
b'zeh achas kama kama. Be careful this
koved in that sugia of being mechabed,
of coming of coming to a place of koved
to the people around me, that is the
ramp up. I don't think it's just like a
warning you're climbing.
That's what I wonder Chaim says. What a
party.
I think so. I think so.
Don't look at me as like I'm in your
way, Raven. I don't want to say the word
answers the question cuz if I if it
answered the question then I won't be
bothered next year. I want to say that
in thinking about the question, this is
what it this is where it brings me. Do
you know what I mean? When you say
answers the question, if a guy asked why
is Levi spelled with a pay, I can answer
that question. What's the answer? It's
not. That's an answer. When you say does
that answer so Chaim you won't be
bothered next year, and I'm going to be
bothered next year. I could This
question is like fascinating. I could
say that thinking about this question
brings me here, and I suspect Hashem
wants to bring us places, that's why he
says things.
You hear Avi what I'm claiming?
I think that tie in
with other people too. I understand like
not being advised on others while you're
going up, but like why is that
specifically I think that brings us up.
Coming to a space of respecting the
people around us is the ramp.
>> in our life is THE RAMP ITSELF. OW! I'M
TALKING ABOUT REALLY coming to a place
that that involves sugiyos to get to a
place to respect people is working
through our own hurt, coming to a space
of seeing my listen people. I think that
alone brings us places. I've seen this.
I could say this that as a fact that a
guy typically comes to Yeshiva, he comes
I want to grow and then he has like side
problems, those things and resolving and
embracing and figuring out bring him to
crazy heights. I've seen it. I've
experienced this. I've watched this.
Is that that's Yes, Binyamin. I just
want to add something on top of what
you're saying. What who's saying?
I like him. Um
but
you know, obviously you have your own
inner world that you're like you have to
work on and then there's obviously the
outside and then working with it like
I'm
I'm saying they work hand in hand
obviously, but I feel like one comes
before the other. You have to have a
sense of self in the inner world before
I think all the working out with others
comes from a place of sense of self a
thousand percent. I don't think there's
a sugiyo of work. The note the note of
the ben adam
to the ben adam atzmi. It's funny how
we're in tile discuss the Yeshiva which
I didn't It's not about the Yeshiva. We
discuss personal growth. He said that
the first sugiyo is ben adam atzmi,
there's a self.
Before you have ben adam makam and ben
adam haver, there's no there's no ben
adam haver till there's an adam. I
happen to agree with that. The sugiyo of
any covet of the people around us has to
contain be good to another. I you don't
even know you
The typical answer, by the way, the
father What's the typical answer of the
father who's bad to his children.
I hate myself. That's like to if you're
deep deep and brutally honest, the
father was like tough on his kids, he's
angry at self.
Every first Sugya is Ben Adam Atzmai. It
has to be that way. There's a self. So,
we talk about a Sugya being mechaber
others, when I mean that 100%. You won't
come to any deep place of mechaber
others if you're not in a space of of
acceptance of self. You It won't happen.
I agree I can't agree more. I'm saying I
want to express something, Binyamin. I'm
a guy I'm I'm very bad of doing two
things at once. I don't work well like
that. I get like overwhelmed. I might as
one task and then I get like I might I
can't like well pull them that one thing
one thing one thing.
A person it could feel like that he's
trying to steiger and he have people
around him. It's not two Sugyas. Hashem
put in our lives the exact situations
that bring us up to Misbech. It's not
while climbing while How do we know what
to surround ourselves and who to
surround ourselves with?
There There That's That's the truth of
of of surrounding and then there's
something that Hashem puts by us that
are there that are that are
[clears throat] factually there.
Resolving being present to those I don't
think that steiger and ignoring the
people that Hashem put in our lives. I
think through coming to an honest space.
Now, a space of respecting people is is
a Sugya and really coming like learning
those Sugyas out of pain of to a guy
like me hearing this Hashem Zev is like
so geschmack that it's not like
different poles and where do I go for
I'm trying to climb and then
the guy who's trying to climb and has a
child Hashem sends a child. He He I'm
trying to steiger. How many people feel
I'm trying to steiger? Here's my son
who's struggling with these things.
No no no no no. Hashem gave you that
son. Hashem gave you that daughter. This
is your path. Now you know, by a child
there's no question. Now,
Avi's right and Binyamin's right. Their
case is Sugyas. I think Avi just said
who we surround, but that's a Sugya. And
Harchech Mishochein Rad is a Sugya.
There's some case that Hashem puts us
Our children are exactly our path to the
Shtaiging.
I would dare say our children are the
ramp up, our parents are the ramp up,
our siblings are the ramp up. They are
the ramp up itself.
That's
That's what I'm hearing. I don't want to
like be a bully, Chaim Zev. I don't know
Chaim
>> You're being a bully. I want to express
learning these Psukim what hits me.
Zvi, is that fair? That's what hits me.
But again, I don't know. I think the
Halacha Kiki, you like this Halacha? I
like this Halacha a lot. The ramp up to
the Mizbeach whispers to a person, don't
be Mevayesh that which your friend.
>> I love it, brother. That's what Chazal
say. You already said first we need the
first one
Like we need the four
before we need
the five we need the
I say this Ishtaiging, it's like there
it's like the deepest Sugya. If you want
to know your blueprint up, study who
Hashem put in your life.
What? This is Shtaiging itself. This is
the Torah will speak to this. The
connection to Hashem will come by way of
this. That's That's what I'm thinking.
>> I think more like Avi was saying that
you find your plan, you find your your
own
You run away from the parents and
everything.
Maybe then you could come back but That
might I would say that in the Sugya of
Binyamin that the first has to be rather
Matzmi.
To be Mechabed is a deep Sugya. To be
Mechabed people around that will start
in Adam Matzmi. And in that Sugya,
whatever it will take to find self, I
agree with that.
Thank you, Avi.
Wonderful.
We We're climbing a little bit, I think.
We're getting some places up the up the
Ma'alos.
>> Message of the ramp. Is that right?
Yeah, 100%. How can we learn the put
We're trying, we're studying, we're
doing our best. Hashem said a possible
we really will miss buying in a bit. We
analyze even for a few minutes. Hashem
says Tyra Avinu wants us to think. So,
this is studying Tyra. I'll be like ask
the question. I didn't You ask the
objectively Hashem wants to study Tyra.
Yes, he really That's limit of Tyra. And
he wants us to be miss buying in Sukkot
Hashem. There's a possible in the Tyra.
We just spent 40 I have a long we just
spent a half hour studying Tyra. There's
more to study on this subject, but
Isn't that amazing? That I mean that's
very fascinating. I like that question.
Why does Hashem talk
Why does Hashem talk like this? Say it
out loud. Say
>> [snorts]
>> Very strong question.
I think I think what Svi says I think
there's an amount he wants us to like
connect to the thing and process thing.
There's like action to process.
>> Top 10. studying there's noticing like a
subject of connecting. But I wonder the
same thing.
It's interesting. Even what you're
saying reflecting this bay up. But every
year it's thinking about this. Do you
the coin is the one that spoke directly?
He's like a mildness. But every year
it's studying the parsha of the
misbehave as the base of migdash and
it's the center the base of migdash.
Every year it studies this weird
phenomenon. It's a ramp there. That's
weird.
Say this.
But what's the Because we learn Tyra and
we're studying something. We're studying
We study the Tyra saying something to
us. It's talking to us learners of Tyra.
Somebody hears something different
climbing the misbehave. Don't be
people around you.
Is that people What you two have some
shot even though you're climbing or is
that the way to climb? That's what I'm
saying. Few ideas that come to mind.
Shkoyach everyone. Thank you guys.
Can I say something?
