[Music] So you coming out or taking behind what Good evening, guys, gals. Thank you so much for being here. Much appreciated. First and foremost, Lakewood is a very unique community. Very unique. As you can see from myself and my colleague here, Comm Lifenstein. We're Orthodox Jews. Gee, what was the first clue? So, but why is this Lakewood Township is is uh as of the 2010 census have 93,000 residents. Wow. 50% of the town is Orthodox jewelry. And the reason why I'm telling you this and the reason why it's important to know this is for the most part they do not have televisions. That's in today's day and age. That is kind of odd for the secular world. Wow. Like what's going on? They do not have televisions. So when you ride down the block in a military vehicle, the kids are going to go, "Wow." So what wind up happening is they may run out. They may come to see you. So you know, instead of driving Iraqi style where you just don't stop for nothing, you keep on going over here. Keep in mind there will be kids running out to actually see you. You are the excitement. You are the television. You are the the entertainment, so to speak, cuz they don't have that at home. So, just keep that in mind as you're rolling down the streets. You may see kids or different, you know, really coming out to look at you. And that's the reason they don't have the TV to see it. They're going to be looking at you for that. Also, the past 24 hours was something known as a Shabbat, the Sabbath, which means that Orthodox Jews didn't use the phones, they didn't drive, they didn't use lights. Now, at sundown, it's over. And that's why we're actually here. Our Shabbat is over. So now you might see more cars in the road. You'll see a lot more going on. Up until now may have been a lot more dead so to speak with movement because everyone's kind of home, not driving, no cell phones. Now more movement may come through, more calls for service may come through. You may see a lot more of that. Just giving you a quick heads up. And once again, I thank each and every one of you for being here this evening to take care of the town. We have senior developments as well. We have we have Lakewood. Proud of Lakewood. Proud to be Lakewood. We are We are so thankful you're here this evening. uh my colleague committeeman Lifenstein who was the liazison for all emergency services uh this past Friday when this came about he said you got to reach out to the guard make a phone call called out the jock and see what we could do to pull this together we're certainly appreciative that you guys and gals the 328th MP we were so appreciative that you came out here to be here this evening thank you thank you mayor I'm just going to thank everybody what the mayor didn't say was what's your rank in the air force mayor he's a major in the air force uh oh air force beat army and and and and but he he he he said, you know, if I need to call the army, I guess I will. If I need help, I guess I'll call him. Oh, help out actually. But in all seriousness, thank you all very very much for coming. Uh we did call you because we were concerned about the facts that especially over the Sabbath, which was last night, and going into tonight, that people would not make phone calls. This is a problem that we have ongoing constantly with our police department where if there's a burglary, people in the community don't make phone calls. And we were concerned in those really dark areas. A lot of people moved out of out of town. A lot of people don't have any sort of cell phone connection. And we wanted to make sure that everybody felt safe. So just seeing you guys rumbling through the neighborhoods is going to uh make our citizens feel safe and of course hopefully it's going to make the bad guys realize that this is not a place they want to be. So just thank you so much for for coming to Lakewood. We really appre I I can't tell you. I mean, you guys have been working hard throughout the storm, so I'm sure you know what I say. We're all tired and frustrated and I still don't have power in my own house. So, it's just it's very very difficult time and it's really really good to see people from our military and National Guard come out to help us out. We really we really appreciate it and thank you for coming. [Applause] Yes. Oh.
