Dr shanik what is each year my wife and I have been involved in helping families before and and p uh these are families in lakid who really cannot afford basic necessities uh we help them with food Staples uh clothes shoes hats Arab they barely enough food enough money to buy food and then and clothes and my wife and I have been collecting for this uh we get the names of the na from reliable sources and liid we try to check everyone every family out to make sure they are in need and we do it in a very actually confidential way so that really no one really realizes exactly what we're doing but we don't want anyone El to find out about it and uh we found that the need has grown very much so in the last 20 25 years we been doing it initially the community was very small 25 years ago maybe they only a small amount of family maybe 70 80 families now we there hundreds and hundreds of families in fact we get calls every single day a daily basis but families in L who can't afford food clothes who're barely making it and my wife and I are collecting for these families uh in fact my wife is on a daily basis I see making phone calls and out on the road every evening for a few hours calling families ahead of time and collecting checks and depositing distri of the different families that are in needs what has changed now that prompted this public campaign well we found that the demand has increased dramatically actually exponentially um years ago was just a handful of families now it's hundreds of families as I said before but the economic uh situation in Lakewood and across the country is is so bad that people are really drowning in bills they can't buy food they can't buy clothes and there where we found that the the need is so great and the demand is so great that this point we have an annual budget now of 600,000 a year years ago my wife and I were able to raise the amounts needers but now as the years go by the amount is overwhelming uh we can't keep up and we're looking to the community's help and we're looking for people to donate um either one time donation or make a donation on a monthly basis and uh by calling 73 to 54 2972 um you can pled your donations and uh the community community would certainly appreciate that uh at the present time there had no administrative expenses there no overhead all money goes directly to the name there actually no other char No Other expenses and they go directly to the name it be great to me to see you there personally uh this Tuesday night July 12th at 7:30 in the park line of 400 madon Avenue thank you
