Important Message from Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles

good afternoon it's mayor Ray calls I hope you and your families are enjoying a wonderful holiday so far I'm sure everybody has seen the nasty weather we have out there today and unfortunately that weather is supposed to continue through the night into the early part of tomorrow the good news is that the temperature should remain above freezing so tonight tomorrow morning early we shouldn't have any worries about freezing black ice or anything like that where the problem comes in is midday when the temperatures are supposed to drop there is a possibility of seeing black ice or flash freeze any number of things as the temperatures get below freezing now because the rain is continued straight through we're unable to pre-treat the roads like we normally would have and also until the temperatures get down to the freezing Mark we can't start salting because the water we just wash everything away and it would be a complete waste of money Public Works is ready we have full Crews on board if the need arises they will be out salting and sanding as the need demands I just want everybody to be extremely careful if you're out on the roads tomorrow afternoon black ice flash freezes it's very difficult to see until you're right on top of it take a little extra time to get home be very careful I want you to make it home to your families to enjoy the rest of the holiday to have a good Shabbos and you just spend that time together so again be careful tomorrow afternoon we will be out there salting and sanding is needed but we need you to be extra careful as well stay safe and thanks very much good night
