to me the Democratic response response to Rabbi Kahana is to answer him to compete with him in the marketplace of ideas to persuade people to reject his ideas on their guy like gilad atsmon who was off the charts nobody would even know who he was he's a guy who apologizes to the Nazis for comparing them to Israel because Israel is far worse now how can any rational person believe that he says in his book that Jews probably did Kill Christian children and use their blood and mozas nobody could believe that that's not the problem the problem is that the friend seminary in New York invites gilad atone to talk to their students the problem is that professors Walt and mimer endorse aton's book The problem is that Richard Faulk the former un reporter on Palestine says aton's book is a book that should be read and widely discussed by everybody now you know I'm me and said why are you debating Rabbi Kahana are you not legitimating his views by debating him are you not acknowledging his right to be part of the Jewish dialogue and it gave me great cuse and I thought a good deal about it and I want to start by indicating why I am debating Rabbi Kahana I'm debating Rabbi Kahana here tonight because too few blacks debated and responded to Jesse Jackson and Louis farak I'm debating Rabbi Kahana here tonight because no ARS debate y he's angry about a book and about college professors from Princeton in the University of Chicago who plugged the book so please explain well every year some nutcases publish books that say the Jews try to control the world that Hitler was right that the Holocaust didn't occur that Jews killed Christian children and used their blood to bake matah every year people publish books like this and this is another book like that and this is their right yeah sure and some obscure saxophonist from England who nobody takes particularly seriously well the leftwing takes him seriously the guardian says he's one of the London's finest saxophonist well they take his music seriously but his writing but he takes seriously he hates the left as much as he hates the right he hates anybody who's Jewish or has anything to do with being Jewish he is a Jew he's born in Israel he says he hates the Jew in him and that he would like to get rid of anything that relates to his Jewish background and so he writes all these things about Hitler and about the Holocaust and nobody would take it seriously except that two very prominent professors have endorsed the book and told everybody presumably including their students to read it to think about it to reflect on it to widely discussed imagine sending your kids
