because the reality is you have such a responsibility such an obligation to learn tah that wasting any of that time is simply putting yourself in danger so now when we see how did the actually apply average person if you're learning to and let's say your wife calls do you pick up the phone when you learn to and let's you hear one of your kids crying do you stop the Torah when you uh learn Tor but you hear there's a Sim next door do you stop your learning what do you do perhaps there's a few guys in the or the that are having a really interesting conversation that you over here do you stop and why because no boss will ever give you a promotion by you just doing the basics if you're one of those people that comes to work just to look forward to leave certainly you're never going to succeed at that company perhaps you should look for a different job that you actually going to perform better when you see somebody is zealous is excited to work is is is creating new ideas create has more passion every single day for what they do that's a person that you know this person certainly is not going to stay at that role they're only going to go higher why because that's a person that is not going to be content with where they are they're going to want more they're going to want more and they're going to get more because of their performance and that's the problem today that many people think that just because they exist they're entitled to more and this is obviously the reason why there's so many losers in a generation that don't end up even leaving their house they're content somehow they uh they managed to get a few dollars from some family member or the government of somebody and they simply remain losers and do nothing with their life this is a very very sad State of Affairs that has become standard in the world today in the previous generations there was no such thing as I don't feel like going to work there's no such thing as I'm going to live off of the government or somebody else giving me money and I'm just going to do nothing all day and play on the internet this is a loser mentality that unfortunately has become like a plague in the world but that plague all began with them having some type of role in life and being content with it and as a result of being content with it and not trying to aim for more they became content with being content and that became their new Mo that became their new personality and they simply just stayed that way across the board in their job in their marriage in their Parenthood in everything that they do and they simply just live like you know paint on a wall nothing no one cares if it's even there or it's not and unfortunately when you treat life that way you end up ruining your life the same concept goes when it comes to marriage if you're not going to work on continuously improving the marriage that marriage will die out that passion will die out that love will die out you'll end up becoming like roommate instead of uh a couple same thing with Parenthood if you do not constantly try to create new ideas to express your love express your your care to your children try to find new ways to get their attention try to get find new way ways to educate them more to do more for them guess what's going to happen those kids are little by little going to become more and more distant from their parents and eventually they're simply going to move away and you're maybe going to hear a phone call out of them once a year why because the more you invest into something the more that something connects to you the more you uh the more you show love to something the more that something connects to you the less you show the the less the uh the other thing shows and that's what ends up happening when a person is think oh so that means that I have to spend all my time with my wife and all my time with my kids and therefore I don't have time for the Tora wrong to show love to show care to show affection doesn't require all of your time it could literally you could do all of this in a single hour or a day or even less sometimes a person showing care showing affection doesn't have to work over time and work at 4:00 in the morning and at 2:00 in the morning and at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at all hours no simple when you're working you're working you're not playing with your phone you're not worrying about lunch you're not worrying about dinner or what you're going to do on the weekend you're there and you're putting your best performance you know that this company is paying you an x amount of money for your time you're putting your best on that just as if you were the boss and you want somebody to work for you for the money that you pay them but when a person doesn't put effort into something doesn't get excited about something doesn't look forward to it guess what you already know the future of that person it's either ending in that place or simply staying exactly what they are and simply becoming just like paint on the wall that everybody knows it's there but no one really cares about it the more you want to grow the more you want to invest into something but unfortunately some sometimes a person gets a lot of gifts gets promotions gets uh uh blessings and is simply ungrateful just like kak kak was ungrateful and that's why mosu says to hours a day just praying so the ask them if they're if they're praying for 9 hours a day when they have time to learn toah when they have time to learn toah say very simple When you pray that much with that much meaning you uhem gives you enough that even the little bit of time that you have to learn T is a uh you'll get a what somebody gets in uh five five years of learning to now the question is why would they need need so much time to meditate before they learn to in preparation before they uh before they pray meditate before they pray and meditate after they pray why do we even have all of the different uh sections of and the all the other the prayers before the which is really the foundation of your prayer is the and uh all of the other prayers are very important but if if push comes to shove and somebody could only put on the fill in then they uh if they do put on to fill in and say they fulfill their obligation if they just do they fulfill their obligation of prayer for the for for for the day so of course we do more but the point is is that why is there more what's the extra for you know it's a people always ask this question the key is to understand that the answer to that is from that particular when a person understands the value of Prayer they understand that they have an opportunity to meet one onone with one onone with and the the prayer is broken up into pieces in such a fashion that broke up the prayer in such a fashion that the words that are coming out of your mouth Elevate you to different levels in sh your is in essence supposed to be elevated to higher and higher levels with each and every single paragraph that by the time you get to the is you are at a certain level that is almost the climax almost the highest you can be because that's as close you can be in essence to the by the time you get to the you're supposed to be at the highest possible level literally as if hem is right in front of you so in essence to elevate yourself to that point can't be done in a second it takes those prayers now after a person has elevated themselves and has prayed amid which such kavana and has completed the amid he has to come back to earth to come back to earth to come back to the regular where where he was before he started praying also takes you have to go down slowly because if you C if you go down fast you'll crash so that's why there's the better you learn better and even more so it's very important for a person to know that if they truly want to learn to is going to see it and if he sees you wanting to learn toah he'll give you opportunities to learn toah perhaps it's going to be then perhaps it's going to be 20 minutes early perhaps you go to pray 20 minutes earlier so you could study that 20 minutes before you pray rather than study 20 minutes after you pray it's a very good idea by the way to uh to actually learn tah a little bit before you pray uh and uh and that's what a lot of used to do the basali and many of theim uh and would wake up in the middle of the night and uh after sleeping for just a few hours and start learning at 1 two o'clock in the morning all the way until sh then they would pray and then we go back to learning sometimes they would eat something for a little bit and then go back to learning but the uh uh the learning before prayer is very valuable sure the learning after praying is also valuable but the keys to know is that a person shouldn't necessarily uh uh discard their prayer because that prayer is your personal meeting with uh next question is you discussed a couple of I am a religious Jew by uh by the taped up wrapped kosher food but I'm afraid my behavior and dress were not where they should have been ah okay this is a very good question so a person needs to know that if if they weren't glued to the Torah certainly they have a some big sins under their belt some of them may be and most likely are if you desecrated Shabbat it's also if other people knew you were Jewish and you're violating the T that's also so certainly is something that's under their belt and it's not an easy thing to fix why because to uh to fix requires K uh that's what says andaz says and all [Music] um and uh and it's a is not an easy thing so he says the way to understand it is that is so big that the uh punishment for it is not even in this world it only starts after a person dies because there's not enough punishment in this world to fix on the same token the reward for Kem is not in this world it's in the next world because there's not enough good in this world to give you a reward for your K so says the way to eliminate the that a person has under their belt is by doing K and in essence put themselves in such a position that they've put they've created so much Kem that a uh it it's takes care of whatever past that they have now as far as how does a person create Kem sometimes people think that creating Kem is just anytime that you're doing a nice thing for somebody else it's K it's not necessarily so uh sometimes it's easy sometimes it's not but one of the great things that uh uh a person can do K is simply by helping other people do Chua by being involved in K by helping people do Chua your whole life turns into K and what ends up happening is is that the more a person delves into learning tah and also helping other people learn tah helping other people get closer to hashm the more is going to give them opportunities to do even more of it why because says wait a minute you have a person let's say has 100 under their belt and this person says okay yeah you know I I want to do K and they start they get you know they start doing kiru they donate a few dollars they give out some USBS they sponsor a lecture they got let's say five k under their belt hasem sees oh five k amazing the person says oh five I have 95 more to goem says no no no you're mistaken it's not 95 more to go why because those five gave you a I'm going to open up a door for you to do another 25 as a result of those five as all those five I'm opportunity to do another 25 why because since I see you like Kem the reward for a Mitzvah is another Mitzvah meaning since you did K the reward for it in this world is going to be an opportunity to do the same exact thing again so a person pushes again and he realize oh I'm doing K again and little by little puts that person in a position where they literally have made a whole lot more K than they've ever even imagined but again it requires effort it requires a uh persistent and consistent person but nonetheless he puts a person in a situation where their past doesn't only get wiped out but their past turns into MIT why does a past turns into says the that when a person helps other people do CH it's the highest expression of love for hasem because when you want to show somebody that you love them you you the best way to do it is by showing affection to their kids meaning if let's say for example you saw a teacher tell you your kid is terrible stupid late uh this that automatically you're thinking okay maybe this teacher is right maybe he's wrong but either way this teacher doesn't really like my kid doesn't like my kid you know either way this teacher doesn't like my kid but if you say to you you meet with the teacher say listen you know your your your son is an amazing gifted kid M Precious Heart special he's sometimes late but I know he doesn't mean it he's sometimes a little Rowdy but that's only because he's a kid and you know what he has a lot of potential and his teacher starts giving you compliments about your kid and says oh yeah you know uh on Tuesday we had a special day and we went and your kid was the best and he remembers all the wonderful things about your kid automatically say wow I love this teacher why do I love this teacher because he loves my kid when that teacher loves my kid I love that teacher when a person loves is by showing hasem that he loves them by showing by bringing them closer to Hashem Hashem says Ah that means you love me if you love me I'm turning all of your sins into mitv because Chu from Love is the highest level of Chu and it turns all of the sins into mitv meaning that not only does a person end up doing the mitvah of K with with helping people do Chu but also the reward for it is multiple fold it's number one it's a the Kem which is MIT in itself two it's helping another person do Chua three it's expressing love in the highest level to hem and four it literally transforms all of the past crimes including into mitvah into meaning the says even if a person has Torah learning and like he's still not going to be on a high level like the person that is a that helps people do CH which means that the greatest solution to the past of anyone that has sins which is pretty much everybody is to help people do Chua are there other ways to do K sure are there other ways to do mitv sure but is there another way that is as effective and as needed in our generation not that I know of not that anyone that I know knows of simply put theim have made it clear that anyone that helps people do Chua is not doing them a favor only is literally doing themselves the greatest favor in the world because there are certain sins that a person doesn't even remember they made or they just don't know the mag the significance of it they don't know the significance of it so when a person helps other people do chuva AEM in essence rewards that person by giving them the opportunity unities to solve that problem to remove that problem Al together and to even transform that problem into a merit just imagine your average person makes let's say for argument sake let's say the average person makes a uh if he makes 10 mitv a day most likely he makes at least 50 sins a day again uh this is obviously depends on the person and most likely the numbers are much greater but for argument sake your average person makes more sense than but it doesn't mean that they're necessarily Wicked because it also depends on the size of the mitv and the size of the sins if let's say for example their mitv are learning T and they uh protecting their bre and giving and so on and their sins are okay they didn't study as much as they should have they missed five minutes here and there they forgot a blessing here and there they forgot to uh watch their hands here and they okay those are sins but nonetheless they're not as big as the MIT so person makes more sins then but nonetheless he's still in good shape imagine that a person is not this righteous person has 20 30 40 Years of every day majority of their day is just sins and not just sins but huge sins that's creating Shabbat you know intimacy with non-jews uh intimacy with married people that are not your married people uh you know stealing this that like all types of things im a person lives 20 30 40 50 years of of sins and big sins young people they're eating a pig sandwich but then they do Chua a miracle of its own and not only that they start helping other people do Chua either by contributing their time their skill or their money sees the miracle that is their Chua the miracle that is the other people that are doing chuba and only after this person dedicates themselves to making CU of their priority in their life will they only start realizing the miracle that they're earning themselves literally paying for it every day by doing this CU because now that CU is transforming those infinite sins that they made the big ones the biggest ones into mitv meaning that even if they're now A righteous person and they do good things they're still ratio it's going to be more sins than MIT even if the mitv are big they're still this the number is still big now now they have all of those current and the past are turning into mitv which means that they arrive in sh says somebody that does K like seriously there's no judgment for them they simply walk past the bedin there is no bedin they don't remind them of anything there is no no one can judge such a person they have access to anywhere they want that's what the Z says why because everything is a mitvah meaning all of the past sins they've ever made don't exist anymore they've all turned into mitv so they walk up to sh like they own the place and that's what the says about r r was the nephew how could I give up on all those people that do CH from my sh for my books for my how could I give up on it meaning that when a person truly understands what they're getting by helping people do Chua literally they'll sell their house for it this is why it's very sad it's very sad sometimes that you see people get on the right path and then they think that they're doing something else and unfortunately you get to see that you get to see certain people they start doing kir of themselves or contributing to it but then at some point or another the sends them some different distraction and they said no I'm going to take a break and then I'm going to come back and what ends up happening they never come back why for you to be able to succeed in doing kiru whether it's successful through speech or through writing books or through giving CDs and USBS or pamphlets or arranging lectures or even successful in donations you have to have Merit meaning a has to want you to do K he has to actually want it why because the reward he has to pay you is simply too great R to simply just pay it for anybody hence the reason why you see certain people have been giving lectures for 20 30 years till this day five people 10 people are listening to them other people they've been giving lectures for five or 10 years and you see many more people listen to them now the numbers are not necessarily always true in a sense that sometimes you have less people but it's more more actual influence more people but they're causing people to sin like the have many many fence but what I'm talking about here is the ones that have the greater reach usually it's because they have the much much greater Merit much much greater Merit where Hashem wants this person to do a lot more why they sacrificed a lot more I know a guy who was already teaching toah he said he taught toah for over 20 years he says 20 years average class that he would give two to four people 20 years straight two to four people every class one year maybe like five six years ago apparently he did something that opened up the Gates of Heaven and all of a sudden he became one of the most popular people in is literally every lecture 100 200 300 500 people don't ask me who it is I'm not going to tell you just simply it's not necess NE but the point being is why what happened in those 20 years what happened in those 20 years what happened is very simple 20 years he was paying his dues in order to earn the Merit of what he's going to get after to keep that Merit he has to work even harder than he did the first 20 years now some people are able to do what he did in 20 years in 6 months or a year or two years depending on a level of sacrifice some people Unfortunately they end up getting the stage finally getting the audience finally and they end up falling off and they take that uh that uh added Fame and and popularity to their head and it was better off they never did it because they end up uh misleading people but the key is that a person needs to know that for them to succeed in helping other people do chuva the reward is so great that Hashem has to actually want you to succeed for your donation of time of money of time of money money of of skill of of of effort of whatever it is for that to actually help people do Chu Hashem has to want it it requires a certain amount of Merit because that reward that you'll get for successfully helping people do Chua is literally going to transform you into someone that's Untouchable someone that is done the highest level of Heaven no one is higher literally no one is higher than that person he's he's above the Stars that's what the uh the and says person that helps people do CH is above the Stars it's a person that literally has no de in sh there is no bed there is no mention of the past there is no past that's bad everything is meot so when a person realizes wait I could have been a murderer a rapist whatever I was and now I'm going to transform my life and obviously do Chua myself and helping other people do Chua as a full-time thing as something that I'm going to put all my effort even if he's not doing it like professionally but I'm going to constantly give my or my for the sake of I'm going to dedicate my life and make this a priority in my life that's going to help me but not just help me but transform me into something like nothing else can compare to it nothing else can compare to it and that's why people that are typically in it that are doing it for the right reason they simply never leave even with all of the difficulties and all the troubles and that's why even even again Shalom literally was doing K until on his deathbed until the last days he was helping people do CH there are some some rabbis in and other places they're literally 85 years old still doing K still helping people do cha when when you understand the significance of it and you realize that the reward is so great but also the expression of loving Hashem is so great you simply uh realize you don't have another choice you already you g you were given a gift and you have to take it for for for everything you possibly can on how much they read per day and how much they can meaning that uh if they're a very slow reader then it's more time if they're a fast reader then it's less time the key is to read it understand it much they read how much uh other things they study how much to they study there's no rule of thumb it all depends on the person next person thank you for doing the work that you do uh my question is how can we better teach our small children the ways of hasem what books can we as parents read that will teach us how to teach them especially now that they are uh young ages 10 uh Z to 10 years old and growing the greatest way to teach young kids uh tah and the ways of hasem is through the uh Torah books that are catered For Children uh there are many many Torah books that are cat for children there is a uh um the stories of theim there is entire collections of small booklets that each one of the booklets has stories of different righteous people uh there's for example one that's already probably 40 50 years old called M and it's a collection of 120 small little books each one is about a different sadik there's also one of I'll show you that I just got for my kids there's all collection of them uh this is another one this is a uh it's called The Eternal Light there is 80 in this collection and for example this one is about the bmov it's number six there is about you know Benish about the all the these stories you know they have pictures in them and they have a you know obviously good uh writing in them the point being is these stories about the sikim personify the Torah for these kids give them a visual of what these what this tah looks like in real life but also gives them somebody to look up to if the only people that they have to look up to are baseball players football players and all types of other filthy people uh then guess what that's who they're going to want to be but if you give them non-stop stories uh about righteous people that actually lived real righteous people that lived the bmov the balat the uh the uh R the closenberg rebi the Raba minoli uh RAB AKA eiga Ben RAB AKA Zak all of these great people that live throughout the generations guess what you're going to have a endless supply of Heroes for your children and guess what usually they'll pick somebody that they like more than others but there's no end to the amount of stories but you have to make it in such a way you have to give it them in such a way where they have to see something not just hear the stories so there are many many books out there and collections of books that have the stories with the pictures stories with the pictures this helps a child remember these things there are also uh uh different audios and videos of these stories the greatest thing in the world for a family to have in their house is as many stories about theim as they could possibly consume how much can they consume endless supply literally anytime my family provides for us anytime I have an opportunity I see more collections of books of of about that we don't have immediately I buy it it's it's like it's like a uh air we need more oh this one yeah but we're still working on that one doesn't make a difference get that one this one as many as we possibly can because they're all beautiful they're all amazing they uh some of uh the greatest gifts that we ever got is when somebody would give me a a bio about one of the tadik but especially the ones that the children's versions because those are not just for me they're also for the rest of the family and his beautiful pictures and his beautiful stories one of the my favorite books that I've read in recent history in my life is what I'm reading right now about the uh that was gifted To Us by our friends uh uh about the the re the clbi but kid version now I've read his bio and I've read some of the things that he's written but the stories that are in this particular bio most of them are not in the in the uh in the uh in this bio that's just for adults and the stories are rivet they're just unbelievable and it's just the pictures give it a different meaning and I'm telling these stories to my kids and I'm getting and they're getting and it's the greatest thing in the world I you know we think about like I want to I want to be his T I want to be I want to be his so when you see that then after you finish that you go you know you have the babaali and then you have the uh uh you know Ben or then you have that one and each one you have new Heroes newad and you also learn how they behaved from those stories you learn how to behave you learn how to be because they're not telling you stories of he woke up he went to the store he uh went to the mid he learned he went to sleep no they tell you different things that happened in their life different exceptional things that happened in their life how they behaved when there was sickness when there was trouble when there was death when there was uh uh tests when there was uh pograms inquisitions uh that series with M uh that was I found out about it from rabim we actually had it specially delivered from Israel to here it has there's a Hebrew version and there's an English version we bought both and uh because each one even though it's the same exact stories you want to sometimes teach both but the point is is that we bought them we found out later on that you could actually find you could buy them in America but the point is is that we got them and this was like literally like we just got Torah for Mount sa and we had a whole system for our kids each time we read another one we get another one and another one and when you finish the whole set you finish the whole thing we called it baby Shas you finish this whole baby Shaz there's a party just like the adults do a you do a big party we do a party for our kids because you finish this collection you deserve there's a party for you or there's sometimes a smaller collection where you have let's say the commentary uh for children about the Torah itself there are many many different types that we have and we try to literally buy more of them if it's good if it's good quality if it's by and uh we we get it and we have multiple and you see each one of them have different different pictures different things the kids to learn and each time we complete a book it's a uh it's a special day but each time we complete the series if a series is five books or the series is 50 books we have a party we have a party sometimes we'll uh we'll have a party for the kids in the house sometimes we'll uh uh invite the little animals to play with all types of things why to encourage the kids to want to learn more Torah and not want to go play game boy and PlayStation and all types of things and guess what you end up learning from it teaching from it getting stronger from it strengthening from it and also creating Kusa creating Kusa the primary reason more than anything else that's driving me to make this trip to is is not just the the Holiness of the for myself and and to be part of it it's not that the primary reason is because I want my kids to see this that's the primary reason to bring my kids to go see so manyik so much Torah being completed in one day to be part of such a Monumental event that is a positive trauma that you can give a child unlike any other where that kid is going to come he's going to see the do the big rabbis their people that they know people that they don't know their ABA their cousin they're this they're that say I want to be that I want to do that that's like in my stories I want to do that and they're going to want to learn T and they're going to want learn to and guess what they're learning and the parents is learning and the parents are learning and the kids are learning and it keep going they keep going you keep learning more and more stories the greatest thing that you can give yourself and and full your house whoop is is not just books but to read them read them with the kids don't just say hey go read no read it together with them and uh and and uh and celebrate it make it a big deal every time you complete a book the greatest thing that I learned from as far as doing the uh uh the parties is every time either their you know I uh or they or or or their IMA complete a book that's it we have a little party we have a little party We'll order food or we'll uh I don't know have a my my wife will make special meal or I'll make a barbecue or we'll do something special why completed something you completed another book you completed another series you completed more T you got closer to Hashem and guess what we could do again if we have something else we do something else if we don't have something else we'll read this whole thing again all over again and guess what the next time it's even better it's even better and that's how you build a house of kadus you build a house of kadus everybody wants to be with more T now of course they still have to play you can't just you can't just turn them into R AA overnight they still want to play they still want to hang off their chandeliers they still want to cause noise they still want to break stuff they still want to do they still want to be kids but you designate a certain amount of time per day to learn with them about the to learn about to learn about hem to learn all of these different things and of course there are also great books that I've recommended in the past they that that were written by really serious whether it's the uh the pirate series that was uh that was also the artist behind it was G palak he has many books that each one of them is better than the next uh with the uh whether it's the Pirates ones that teach about character treats about midot based on the or it's the uh the uh different other books that he's been a part of or there are other books that teach mid do there are endless supply that you can get on arull or feldheim or or other book uh Publishers and and sellers out there that you can get a lot of books that teach about character traits and about sadim and about the Torah itself and my suggestion is to get all of it meaning it can't just be about the Torah it can't just be about the prophets it can't just be about sikim and it can't just be about morals and ethics it has to be a little bit of everything now of course everything has its time but the key is when you invest in that type of Torah for your kids that's it you're you're not only fulfilling the Mitzvah you yourself are growing as a result of it you end up you end up learning more you end up appreciating more you end up reading things that you wouldn't read on your own and even more than anything anything else you end up falling in love with your kids even more why because you're investing more time into them many times parents invest in their kids in in material where okay I'm going to spend time with kids I'm going to take them to Disneyland the place of of LGBT oh I'm going entertain my kids I'll take them to some pool or I'm GNA take them to I don't know some type of uh Zoo yes that's good too from time to time with the exception of Disneyland cuz I don't think anybody should ever go there again but you know taking them to a place here and there is fine too but many times people look to take their kids to a place so they could get rid of their kids meaning take their attention away so okay I'm going to take him to a park so the kids will be busy with the park so I could go back to playing with my phone or I can go back to having a conversation with somebody else and yes although that is necessary at times if that's all you do with your kids simply give them off to somebody else to do it then it was better off somebody else had the kids and not you so you have to invest some time into your kids read a story to them sit with them five minutes 10 minutes sometimes more sometimes less sometimes it's an hour but you have to do it and I can tell you listen I don't know how I don't know anybody else that is uh that is uh as busy as as I am I'm sure there are other people that work very hard I'm up 20 21 hours a day I'm relatively busy the whole day learning this that the other thing but still I have the mercy of having a as my wife and she told me you know bedtime story bedtime story before they go to sleep no matter what happened to the during the day no matter how busy I am I have to go there I sit there with them I give them a ptime story it's always about a different sadik and that way we've completed many stories together of course that my sadika wife reads to them a lot more and teaches them a lot more than I can because she's with them all day and we homeschool our kids so there's a lot more that she's able to be a part of but you know what even if I only get that five minutes that 10 minutes of the day of telling that story I'm still part of their life I'm still connected and guess what they still know that they have an ABA sometimes I get a little bit more time than that but the key is that I see the results as a result of building this house the way we did and the way did and the way other people that I know did when you build a house this way with Tor as the primary focus of the house and you're involved and you're contributing to it as a parent as a brother as a sister as a child everybody's contributing to it what ends up happening is that you have literally like gun Eden in your house despite the troubles despite the electric going out despite the air conditioner breaking despite uh uh lacking this and lacking that and having this and having that you have a place that's that's literally a happy place a place of of of just simply like it's just it's the greatest thing in the world but when you don't and I I've seen a lot more houses that don't have this what do you have nothing when you don't you have nothing you have a house where everybody's for their own like survival of the F you know everybody goes on their own as soon as if they have dinner together at all as soon as dinner is over everybody runs to their corner he goes to her his friend she goes to her girlfriend he goes to his girlfriend he goes to the TV he she goes to the movie everybody goes somewhere else and uh we'll see each other next week and that's when most houses alike and it's a sad thing and anytime there's issues everybody breaks up anytime there's a problem everybody breaks up it's like literally people are looking for excuses to get away from each other one of the worst things in the world that I have to deal with at times is when people ask me why their spouse is upset that they want to go on vacation with their friends and not with their spouse unfortunately I've gotten this question multiple times and I try to explain to people things that they should have already known but this is reality is they created this themselves where when you live a life that's with you live an independent life that's roommating with other people so what ends up happening is that all the problems are with those people in the house and the fun you want with other people so that's the thing it's it's when there's no Tora there's no happiness there's no nothing so that's why they want to have the fun part with people they don't have problems with so they want to go on vacation with somebody else and this is a very very sad situation and it happens and unfortunately it's a uh with without T it's a terminal case but nonetheless when you have t that you add to your life no matter when you add to your life it's going to add good of course the earlier you add it the the the the more benefit you'll have but I've seen many many houses where literally it's almost like the places like uh either haunted house or it's like just simply cursed fighting they have problems they have uh uh animosity they have don't want to talk to each other they have uh all types of issues they have happiness they don't even know what that is Unity what are you talking about maybe on TV yeah we're United when we're all watching the show together oh so when you're all zoned out zoned out like you're on crack CU you're watching some show together that's when you consider your together when you're all simply looking at the same screen together that's what you consider your your together time it's a sad life but that's the majority of people oh yeah no I watch Netflix with my family if one of them left in the middle of the show would you even notice if one of them left in the middle of the movie would you even notice what what you share nothing you're all zoned out you're all cracked out watching some show doing nothing you don't share anything it's a sad reality but that's the world and guess what that's the life I live for most of my life so I'm very familiar with it and that's the life that I see many people live but when you have a house full of K full of Tor you have all these stories all these things that we learn together all these pictures we see together we sit down you know it's amazing it's amazing and yes of course there's going to be times you're going to be tested and the kid doesn't want to hear it and the kid uh is climbing on your head and he want of course you going to have those things but guess what even that is part of the fun so my suggestion is everything I just said until now do it the best you possibly can the the people that I've told us to in the past that have done it certainly have have built a home unlike any other uh the people that don't do it uh simply live like everybody else which is an excuse life but nonetheless it's they're still alive so they can maybe turn it around who was the rabbi that certainly he has spoken about it he feels feels it and he is a normal person that should go to the bed he should go to the bed uh because if he thinks he's at the level not to require the bed and he's reincarnated and you will have to that person that lent the money and the person that uh uh borrowed the money both have to be reincarnated to to settle the debt so the best thing to do is to go to a mean it's so much so that if let's say a person knew that another person uh was going to dip in the filthy impure Waters of Christians and convert to Christianity you're allowed to drive on Shabbat in order to remove them from that you know if you know that somebody's going to get baptized on Shabbat you're owed to violate Shabbat drive on Shabbat and do anything you possibly need to on Shabbat to go and get them out of that situation it's considered so your husband's friend that may violate Shabbat for no reason it's uh it's not it's not very different it's certainly uh your husband doesn't need to violate Shabbat uh so for him just simply not to uh go pray with aan in order to help another Jew not violate Shabbat time is certainly worthwhile where can one learn about the disputations of the ramban how can we learn from if became no you mean somebody else so as far as the the disputations there is something called the writings of the ramban uh they actually we have translated it to English and uh they sell it online it's two volumes of pink books and in the uh in the writings of the ramban the part of it is the dispute in Barcelona they had the whole thing that happened there alongside many many other writings which also include the teachings about Gom sh is also in there also the write up that the ran has thean and also the write up that he had for which is full of M so it's called the writings of the ran I have it over here somewhere yeah it's fantastic folks yeah it's two uh it's two volumes like this they look at these pink books um and uh they did a fair very good job in uh in the um translation they also have some commentary on the bottom a little bit or sources uh and uh I believe you can get this pretty much in most uh General websites of for Jewish books whether it's farim Center uh or uh I think you could even get it on feldheim uh but uh and there's plenty others but you get the writings of the ramban uh but it's two volumes two books like this the other ones over there but it has a lot of really really good stuff um as far far as uh the rabbi that you're talking about is not Elish he became a we the Mish that he's mentioned in he was the rabbi of Raba before he went off the or one of the rabbis of not R I'm sorry before he went off the but the Mish that is taught in his name in is a mishna that he said before he went off the and permitted to be together what we're not allowed to eat is dairy and meat or dairy and poultry together uh that we're not allowed to eat together or uh fish and meat together we're not allowed to eat when a person eats a dairy they uh and then they want to eat something else if they're G to eat uh fish they could actually eat fish and dairy together if they're going to eat uh they want to eat dairy and then they want to eat uh uh meat or chicken they have to wash their mouth after they eat dairy and then they can eat the the uh the chicken or the meat uh in a different plate right after they don't have to wait any amount of time but if they're eating uh the meat or the chicken uh uh first then they have to wait six hours until they eat dairy they can't eat them together and they can't eat them shortly after they have to wait six hours now things that are not dairy and also are not meat they're called parve uh parve meaning it's neutral it's not meat it's not dairy and one of the most common things that's parve is eggs eggs are considered parve uh and uh and this is something that you're allowed to eat with anything you're allowed to eat it with meat you're allowed to eat eat it with chicken you're allowed to eat it with fish you're allowed to eat it with cheese you're allowed to eat it with whatever you want I don't really know many people that eat it together with fish but I guess some people do but uh either way you're allowed to eat it with whatever you want uh because considered parve it's not meat or dairy uh the uh there and there's obviously other things such as vegetables they're also considered parve um and typically if if it's packaged products typically and it's kosher then it typically has on the package a uh uh the word parve on it or it just says the uh K or the U uh if it's Dairy then it usually has the uh the the the kosher symbol with a d next to it that means it's dairy uh and meat is meat uh meat typically doesn't have a kosher stamp on it because you buy it from a butcher and it's a kosher butcher uh but when it does it usually has a kosher with a uh uh uh on it and it usually say glut uh on it uh typically it does but not always uh but either way you know it's meat when it's a uh um when it's a non-packaged product or a natural product such as eggs or vegetables or things like that that's just something you need to know from uh from I guess reading that these are parv and these are you're allowed to eat them with whatever you want vegetables uh um fruits uh things that bread uh eggs these are all considered parf uh one thing I recommend is to uh is to get a book that discusses uh kosher uh based on Orthodox judism and also a book that discusses uh the uh um the blessings there's actually a really good book if you need in English uh it's called Uh something El something let see is a very good book with theot is spelled with a h and uh this is a very good book because it has pictures of different foods and it tells you what the blessings are of each food before you eat it uh and then after you eat it and then it also has very good writeups in the end explaining certain things uh that uh that you'll need to know but this is very good for learn to learn blessings and and kosher certainly there are many many other books that you can get on Art scroll or feldheim orim Center or other uh Orthodox Jewish books uh stores uh and uh that will teach you uh how to observe kosher like a kosher kitchen book book or something like that and also you can tune in to the class by our own dear Rabbi L LA who is uh giving a class uh four times a week uh it's all online and one of those classes is a kosher kitchen I believe he has some online already uh it's on our YouTube channel and you could uh uh you know learn a little bit about Kash through that he goes through all the different Al and so on we're almost done we're already okay here we go um thing keeps jumping okay I read okay Moshe is asking I read from the son of the ramban that one should seek okay that one should seek a rabbi who has a comp personality and who is likened to an angel in his mid is this requirement for a student to find such a page 17b if you're Rabbi is like an angel learn from him if he's not don't now what that means is not uh literally like the uh uh English translation but rather if if your Rabbi is trying to serve hem like an angel he's doing his best to serve hem he has he's working on his mid he's working on his t on and so on and he speaks the truth then go and learn from him and you'll you'll do well but if he has bad character traits such as he curses and he uh and he uh I don't know he uh yells at people for no reason and he's a stingy person and he's dishonest and he distorts the tah even if he's a charismatic speaker and he's calm you're still not allowed to learn from him uh I also tell tell people if you know they ask me sometimes oh can I learn from such and such raban or such and such woman and uh you know and they say oh can you watch the video I don't have time to watch anybody's video the rule of thumb is this if this woman is not modest you're not allowed to learn from her simple if she's modest then maybe she qualifies to be learned from depending on what she's what she's teaching and how she's teaching it if it's her own unique ideas it's better to learn from rabbis than rabot most of the time uh but if she's not modest I don't even care if she's reading you the Ben word for word you still can't learn from her same thing with people you know there are some people out there they want to teach they want to teach bre they want to teach this they want to teach uh all types of teachings but they themselves are not modest they themselves are are not uh following what the Torah says you can't learn from people like that so the key is to learn from people that are sticking to the Torah themselves that are in essence trying to emulate the angels as being the the best servants they possibly can be uh and if uh if a person learns from somebody like that then they'll do well but many times people learn uh from People based on their Charisma or based on their uh uh their ability to speak uh or their storytelling abil this is not a reason to learn from somebody and that's in essence what the the uh the son of the ran is trying to say and we actually discussed this more extensively in the series which is the letter from the ran to his son next are we allowed to sue for medical malpractice if the hospital is a Jewish hospital uh yes because even if it's a Jewish hospital typically it's owned by shareholders uh that are not necessarily always uh Jewish and either way you if it's let's say only owned by Jewish people then you can take him to a bedine more certainly there's uh every day is the best day and now is the best day to uh to do it but if it's let's say for example traveling uh you know let's say to go on a vacation during the three weeks that's not the ideal time getting married that's not the ideal time to do it uh to uh you know do things that you don't have to do during that time you know to pray more to learn more to do more mitv that you have to do every day but the things that are extras uh that you don't have to do every day then uh you shouldn't uh do during that time but it doesn't say you're not allowed to because sometimes uh you know that thing that you could do another time it's better you do it now meaning traveling it's if you're going to travel for a vacation it's better not to do it during the three weeks but if you're traveling for the sake of a such as you're traveling to for the sake of going to a Torah event to go learn Torah to go teach Torah to go be part of Torah learning then certainly that Mitzvah will protect you from whatever uh uh negativity is during that time in the world but uh if it's just simply to go sightseeing then certainly it's better off to delay it or do it earlier uh if it's same thing with with with other things but again it's not prohibition it is a uh uh you know it's better to not do certain things also you know uh uh going to the ocean you know things like that there are certain things that are not necessary during that time but again it's not outright prohibitions Okay I uh really appreciate you guys learning with me we went on for longer than usual
