The hidden meaning of Thanksgiving in Hebrew

The word Thanksgiving, giving thanks in Hebrew, is so different than how it sounds in English that it's going to surprise you and it's hide a beautiful secret. For example, in Hebrew, in Psalms 128, we never say give thanks. In the original language of the Bible, we don't say give thanks. We say hodu. Hodu comes from the word toda. When a lot of people want to say toda, they say hodu or modim. The different is so bold. In English, we give something. In the original language of the Bible, the process is on us and it's not [music] just in you word. It comes from a very deep idea that the word thank you in Hebrew, toda, comes also from the word hod, majesty. The [music] only way to recognize majesty or glory of something, of him, is when you humble. The process is on you. You don't give anything. You work on yourself.
