The Haftarah of Parshat Tazria-Metzora

The Haftorah ends with an image of eternity, >> [music] >> just as the new heavens and the new earth stand before God, so too will the Jewish people remain [music] forever. There is stability, continuity, a promise that will never end. And in the end, [music] all flesh, all of humanity, comes to bow down before God. There [music] is a clear, universal recognition that Hashem is the king. But there is also a warning. Whoever sinned, whoever chose the wrong path, will ultimately serve as an example, a reminder of what happens when one strays from the truth. The overall message of the Haftorah is clear. God seeks a true heart, humility, [music] and awe of heaven. The entire world is in his hands, and he leads it with justice. There is judgment, but there is also great mercy and tremendous comfort. And in the end, there is redemption. [music] There is joy, and there is a revelation of God's glory before the eyes of the entire world.
