The Harry Houdini Story
Harry Houdini Upper East Side: See The Good Campaign Before Harry Houdini became one of the most famous entertainers in the world, he was Eric Weiss. The son of a Hungarian rabbi. A poor Jewish kid growing up among immigrant families on the Upper East Side. Back then, this wasn't the Upper East Side of luxury apartments and expensive shopping. These streets were filled with German and Hungarian Jewish immigrants hustling to survive and build a better future for their children. Eric practiced his tricks on these streets and rooftops before eventually becoming Houdini. We don't believe in magic. But there is something almost magical about what happens when Jewish families arrive with very little, work hard, support each other, and build something their children could never have imagined. From immigrant streets to one of America's great Jewish communities. That's the magic of community. See the Good.
