Thank Hashem!

okay good evening thank you for inviting me um there was this big event and there was speaker after the speaker the speaker and slowly as these things happen and more people start walking out and finally they called up the last speaker there was only one person left in the ground and speaking about up and said thank you so much for staying so meaningful to me i appreciate it thank you and he gives a whole long speech one person in the crowd listening and when he finishes he goes over to this person and said you know you really touched me i appreciate it thank you so much for staying he said don't get so touched i'm the next speaker so that's my little intro you've had speeches all day and i appreciate some of you upstate to hear what i have to say and i hope you'll set up some questions to listen to to something my intro i was asked to say share something about my life what i do so i have adhd a very high level and i'm very proud of it that i can't sit straight and i need to always be traveling all over although people find this interesting because i come from a very beautiful resort town in england called manchester and those of you who have been to manchester know what a beautiful town it is they say on a clean day you can see the clouds so beautiful it is a pretty dead place and it wasn't much for me um mark twain some of you may have heard of once said i'd like to live the last five years of my life in manchester so that the transition shouldn't be so difficult usually only one side of the pizza gets it anyway so i come from that beautiful resort town and i i had to do something with my life to travel around and a little more limited than that so barbara sherman found me in america that's one of the reasons i had to get out i had to get out of manchester uh no offense of anyone so confident come from there i love the place so what i do is i travel around the country mainly america to be the housekeeping through whose center which means we go to secular communities less affiliated communities and we spend the shabbos there because my philosophy and outreach my philosophy in killer is instead of teaching you distract demonstrate the understanding you don't want to learn about industry just taste it who says it pushed me a lot to do this and it gives me a lot of physical excitement to do what i'm doing and then he asked me once he said just have adventures how do you deal when people do ask deep philosophical questions on the other side i'm not saying it's existence you know how do you know the turtles from all those questions which by the way which by the way because i do community too and most of my day now when i'm not traveling i'm meeting boys and girls from our community and talking to them so when a sinister booker comes into my office and he asks me these questions he says how do you know this god and i say who what do you know god i don't know i never even thought of it why is that bothering you at all and they said you know the god i said tell me what's bothering you you know what does god mean see you know the thing that dictates us and makes our lives so miserable i say oh that god i hate that god too and let me introduce you to my daughter so this is by the way we'll come back to that soon some relatives ask asking what do you do how do you deal with deep philosophical questions how do you know god's existence so i told him i tell them i don't know if that's about or not but one thing is for sure you've never tasted my child absolutely that's the approach that should be the approach so that's what we like to do we travel around the country and just to make english like a to all um communities who go to college campuses which is which is a lot of fun for me if the best shopper phones are in college campuses you just think a moment what that means we go to a college campus on a friday night i've learned a few of my mistakes over the years what to do what not to do when to go when not to go so one of our first chapters about 10 years ago we were in albany on a college campus now i i don't know if anyone knows what albany college is like it's not quite harvard it's it's some people understand anyway we were invited to open i picked the wrong shadows you know it's bad enough as i said with this thermal babies on the college campus that happens to be it was also halloween weekend and we won the contest that year it was a lot of fun [Applause] so i would like to show you the storage happened on a shower oh although no i'm gonna back off so there was a there was this guy who got into a taxi he called uber got into the taxi and i'm driving in the streets of manhattan and as we were driving the passenger wanted to share something with the driver and he tapped him on his shoulders says excuse me and the driver screamed and slammed on his brakes and he swerved and he just in time he stopped just before he hit the wall and the passenger said oh i'm so sorry what did i do he said she says no no it wasn't you it's not your fault he said you see i don't it was a little scary but you know what i'd like to to bring out from this story [Music] is when you know you're driving the uber now you're driving the taxi you should be the uber driver and your head shouldn't be elsewhere in your other job be focused i was asked to speak about the title those of you who read the title was how i can always thank hashem in every situation even if she pursuit of an offspring i'll come back to my stories on the college campus soon so i would like to share with you this idea of thanking hashem about that and we'll either be able to tie it together or we won't but we're having a good time anyway so those many of you may have heard of this great organization um the bumper stick is thank you hashem thank you hashem which is pretty awesome spoken for that and i don't know if anyone knows who founded this organization maybe some of you may know him some of you don't know him he's an awesome fellow by the name of king david okay so the governor says in his days in his days there was a terrible my guide people were dying right left and center and he came up with this idea he says maybe we should start thanking hashem more often maybe we should thank hisham every day he came up with this idea of making my own day now the obvious question is why am i in brooklyn again our classroom keeping the toilets if they're not keeping the toilet make sure that they keep service they keep casters they will tie their ranks to before the left shoe before the range do make sure paul is really keeping the turtle if they are then they're keeping their throat that's amazing that's pretty cool fantastic why do you have to [Music] instill this idea of maya group as a hundred brothers the idea is because when you get used to doing christmas i just actually smile i was in i went to opticians pretty new story three weeks three three four weeks ago into the eye doctor opposition in muncie and maybe this one wasn't nice of me but too bad this is what i did i don't like to eavesdrop but i was sitting they called me in into the exam room and they called in an older fellow just before me and in the room next door there's a pretty thin wall in between that i happen to hear that over here the conversation of the optician to the with the other man again i would try to block my ears it didn't work so the doctor comes in and says and says to this older fellow hello it seems to be the problem how can i help you and you said that you're not wearing glasses what's what's your status what you're up to and he says actually i don't have glasses but i do have one lens he says i have a in my left eye i have a lens he says why and he's so his answer then i was sitting there listening and he said i'll be honest with you doctor i don't really know yes you know i've always been wearing this lens you know years ago i went to the optician i guess i had some issue i think it was like 40-50 years ago i had this issue and they told me i should really be wearing the lens on my left eye so i put in the lens and the doctor says wait a second you wake up every morning you get dressed you go to the very you put in your left lens and you have no idea why you're doing it [Music] and i thought to myself okay i wake up every day i put on my couple why because yesterday i did and i'm even worse i'm hasidic and not just my job i put on this long you know what i heard you know the hats on the showers i put on this dead cat on my head and why why am i doing it because i've been doing it for 20 years because i've been doing it for 30 years why am i doing it isn't my industry do i enjoy doing what i'm doing because i do i want to do this do i choose to do this that's what's going on people are keeping shabbos they're keeping casters nobody pulls the bone out of the fishing shabbos they pull the fish out of the moon they're all tremendous are they really there he says if we start thanking hashem every day and make sure a hundred brothers every day make sure 100 times a day you say thank you or sam maybe i'll wake you up maybe oh we will unfortunately i also became an indian to make my brothers you know [Applause] but the idea of thanking you it's not just thanking yourself for all the good things you have to may wake you up that is always there but the more you thank hashem the more you realize that there's so much more to be thankful even the things that you would never thank yourself thank you hashem you gave me everything that means everything i need i have proof to it is if you would need something else you would have it but it also means not just everything i need i have also means everything i have i need hashem gave you something you need it you would never get to the place where you are without that i gave this speech a few months ago and someone made a bumper sticker for me whatever i need to have whatever i have i need think about that everything thank you sarah don't eat more not just that if you have something you need it [Music] sorry here's a great story and i don't know i'm not so good with names and i don't know who this who said the story that he's watching on twitter anytime which i got on the facts i saw i saw the story i was watching this is this speaker there's a great speaker there's probably a spot it should be good because i spotted my great stories of the great speakers and he said he was she was invited to speak somewhere in south america and he had to come for a whole week speaking to all over america and then at the end of the week he had to go to south america he came straight from the airport which had just landed from detroit into new york and from that was flying to south america and he was so exhausted and didn't have time to relax i'm just hoping to get onto the plane maybe he'll stretch a bit and have some time to sleep on the plane when he gets to the floor to the airport he takes out his ticket he forgot which airline is on he found out he's traveling spirits so you may know what that means not too much chance to sleep i was actually once in a spiritual and flying to one of our locations i have no idea where to and when they scope when they stood or by the way you know they were calling out the instructions which we all know by heart of what you do when you're in a in a plane accident if you land in the water which none of us are actually going to listen this isn't any of those rules if something happens so you were saying talking about those folk no smoking in the in the laboratory i think they say the only time they use the words lavatory to explain bathroom anyway no smoking in the laboratory and he says it's an interesting lighting it was a big line he said the fine for smoking in the bathroom was and if you have an extra 250 i don't know why you were flying spirits so this year the speaker got on the plane he was on the spirit and but he what he did the only thing which consoled him was when he landed he says when i land i have about six hours till my speech he lands the person who invited him was waiting at the airport to take him to his hotel room and he was looking forward to his five-hour snap he got into the car malaysia i'm so good to see you we so desperately need you in our kihili forget about the speech you're about to give i want to share with you what happened a few months ago he said a few months ago there was a terrible tragedy in our community [Music] there was a couple who had one child and waited years for this child i remember saying that his child grew up got knocked us from this kid and unfortunately when he was 16 years old it was a terrible accident and he passed away he died from the car accident when he was 16. and the mother hasn't hasn't left the moon since that happened she hasn't left her house she just lost the only child and there's nobody that could talk to her she won't let anyone in she is terribly depressed and she doesn't want anyone in but when we told her that you will be speaking in our community she agrees to talk to you so we're taking you directly to her house now he's thinking i haven't slept all week and now i need to give physic to this woman what can i tell her what could you possibly say what can you possibly say to this woman he comes in and sees this broken lady who isn't even crying and she hasn't yet shed a tear over her son as i once heard when someone would help the clothes of the loser during the war and after the war they closed him what can i give you i want to bench with something what rapture do you need and he says please restore in me the ability to cry i've lost that ability so pure tears are so pure we all need it so she hadn't yet cried he comes in and stops talking and shreds not getting too far he does all the physical tricks he says you know you were zucha you haven't so wasn't getting anywhere till he's tried this trick and he said you know imagine hashem would come to you would come to you sixteen and a half years ago and say and says the follow i have unbelievable upstairs i'm looking for a nice caring loving family to place him for 16 years do you volunteer for this and he was hoping that's such a good line he said imagine hashem would ask you i need a loving home for 16 years are you willing what would you say if hashem would have asked you that and she said i would have said absolutely not no thanks i'm not willing to that he answered well it's a good thing hashem didn't ask you beforehand she smirked she smiled and then the damn burst open she started crying she started weeping and she cried like never before she cried for four months she didn't cry she gave out all those tears until desperately had to come out and barbecue that was the beginning of her recovery this year comes out of the house a few hours later and tells his host if you would have asked me beforehand do you mind making a stop at this woman's house if you would have asked me i would have said absolutely not thank you hashem you didn't ask me [Music] you didn't ask me beforehand i was working to do this we have to thank hashem for the things which we would have said thanks but no thanks that said it was that we could do it because we don't understand my son told me this friday night he comes into my room later friday night he was upset about something and his wording was hashem betrayed me 16 year old boy hashem betrayed me i said why did i say betray you because you have no idea why this happened i said if you would know why this happened you'll understand right so when did i betray you by not telling you why this happened is that the betrayal i always like to say magic imagine there would be this phenomenon that you and ruby would come down once a week and sit in a famous spot and everyone could come and ask their questions once a week he sits in show me showers many people there look like everyone know me orange shiny steel and mine whatever evergreen and someone with a long white beard and he's really a leeway movie no one knows why he has a long white beard but that's what they tried i've never seen it so imagine that you know we would sit there once a week and everyone will be able to ask that questions just picture this for a moment a long line of people before him angry christian i shouldn't betray me this is so much fair why why is this happening that long line of people in front before him and the land after the uh after they just heard and saw the bigger picture or everyone's walking way you know though wow amazing thank you you're a genius i would never afford it now i get the whole picture amazing would we want that would that be a good idea or a bad idea question but that'd be a good idea about the idea so many people say that would be absolutely awesome if i know what i'm going through and why not be amazing i think it'll be a tremendous killer you know everyone's in a bad mood only because they don't know as soon as they know oh somebody hassan became a good person the servant is great so it was amazing because you know hashem is good because we know [Music] hashem gave us us a kiss which we would say no but i said i need you on my team [Music] [Applause] what some of this started and i wanted to speak to his son and it's a sort of opposite the coastal because of course i i i pour my heart out in here because i was having it difficult in in my cure of work you know i got out there all the time for claudius girl for ourselves and it's not so easy and he said i'll share with you what happened once with my father he said a famous recipe once came in with this question now i'm not going to share with you who this russia shiva was because for two reasons you know first of all sebastian is a famous first receiver and also because i have no idea who it is so he he didn't tell me either he that he's he's just gave me the first person he didn't know he was that they were he said this relationship is a famous versus human literature came to the northwest father and he said i've asked a question and i can't ask anyone because i'm the worst achievement but [Applause] but he has he has a sick child at he says i don't understand hashem if i want to have this sick child or what am i doing i will give you more toy to my tummy making the world even better place building more time even so what's the same thing why is it gonna give you this sick child that doesn't make sense i'll just be able to help hashem oh hashem needs me in the world and i would name it says who do you think you are that you are helping hashem i said we could do it without you he chose you to be in his team he can kick you off his intense team every day just say thank you i have the opportunity to be there to help his children he doesn't need you he chose you to be part of it if anyone is to help but you just should destroy someone else's or your own you want hassan's team to help his children we know that a president could kick anyone out of his cabinet at any given moment and anyone who is still there after a couple of years like wow thank you i'm still there that's amazing and he gave me this music and i remember going straight down to the coastal farmer's office and i told hasher hashem one thing keep me on youtube i don't want to be there to help claudius girl come back if you're keeping your routine that's all i need don't kick me out don't fire me and the lord used to teach us that the way you do that and by recognizing all these are hashem's beautiful children you'll have the courage to do this i'd like to show you as i mentioned one story which we had in the college campus it was a it was in buffalo we go to buffalo quite a lot buffalo sunni buffalo and we all know there's a famous gamut with the slokas the circus before he became the famous work is who was he he wasn't the simple bandit he was the head of the band that he was he was the real deal and as you know the ryerson was sitting at the lake at the river one day and suddenly he saw this guy you know diving over his head a big splash in the water and every definitely goes whoa that was impressive amazing you should really use your coaches for toilet how do we know he answered something pretty inappropriate as kuberton was a very good looking person and he said you know you can you can i you utilize your coaches for something else and america said you know what i have a deal i have a sister who's even more beautiful than i am if you become fruit you can marry her now i don't know if this is practical her advice for kira and although mario said mentioned before that esau was really bad he was done he was gone the he said yes he's angry somebody bothers him and we spent shabbos together and we exchanged numbers and he came to my house many times for service and i always told him that my children have grown up my grandmother is already old by the time my kids are grown up i don't know if my rabbis will be alive you are going to be the next murderer i need you to be my son's diamond i need you to be my son's poison and i told this to nate every time i spoke to him i said you were claudius who's the next possible and we need you what are you doing in college you're wasting your time you're going to go to youtube again we're waiting for you on my notes i wrote down about half an hour ago but by now after i didn't know it was so like two hours ago he got on a plane to go to your stupid architrave if assume would have asked me beforehand you want to do this i would have said maybe now we have a good time in the college campus and i appreciate that took years and years he's now going to answer through of course he didn't have money because there's no money out there and i said why should money doesn't never be something to stop you from going learn don't worry go tell them to call me if your kind there was this camera minion of just a minion there that was part of the minion and then i ran back to his shield i thought without the minion for the orders i ran back just in time and his car arrived and i actually helped him out i went to the door and i put my hand there and he grabbed hold of my arm and we walked up together to the orbit and then the client says he was looking for fire he wanted to turn on the lights his father said yes anyone on fire yeah it was beautiful i was thinking after you imagine this gabba would tell me you know that's really my job everything you did and because you did it i could have i sat down and relaxed it was ten minutes of coffee you know maybe i'll pay you 20 seconds you know for doing the gamma work instead of [Applause] 20 years later it's my pleasure gives us the pleasure to see there for him hashem gives us the honor whether we like you or not it's our greatest pleasure it's our greatest pleasure and i wasn't giving so much time so i need to tear up half of my paper um oh this is so sad okay about to stand i'll end with one quick story about believing in someone as a kid and very young kids are giving how old is this kid thinking i don't know thank you what would you have done without this answer a kid a seven-year-old kid and this kid was always you know delivered to go on always making jokes and distracting the class you can well imagine how the teachers love these children and the kids always got kicked out all the time to be forced to take i was a teacher there and the teacher said the teacher said i'm putting up a billboard uh what are they called the boards when they called you across them in the front of the classroom and she said she said every day when you come i want you to tell a joke that the whole class reacted down and posted you must come with a post of your your new joke what a genius and every day that kid came [Music] and we read out loud his new joke of the day and she hung it up i killed god never got kicked out again and i want to share with you i've never said this story in public and i don't know how many of you remember your kids teacher but i remember mrs my bullets when she was the only one that said hey you have a sense of humor utilize it and it's not for her i won't be standing here today sin gives us challenges hashem gives us yourness and hashem would come over to you and say please i need you there's so many distributors that need you please you would say no thanks it's too much for me and hashem says i'm so glad i didn't ask you thank you so much
