all right welcome to our weekly
text-based tanya we are studying
the text the holy text
of the altarebes tanya the manual for
the soul that's what i call it the
manual for the soul he didn't call it
that
um what did the altar ever call his book
yeah and
say
name yeah we call it tanya because
that's the first word of the first
chapter yeah and uh lakutyamura means
compiled sayings because he says he got
it from his teachers
and several shall benin means the book
of the regular normal intermediate
ordinary guys
which means the the goal of the book is
how to be a regular normal ordinary guy
right and we define that as somebody
who
may have
improper impulses
but
has perfect behavioral control
okay so
toward that goal
we started discussing in chapter 18 how
to get an infusion
of
love and awe of hashem that would be
enough that would be powerful enough
to uh keep us on the right track
and we said there's this dirty little
trick
this little life hack
called tap tapping into
the super jew switch
which is triggered when you are put in a
position
of choosing between
remaining connected to god
or being
separate from god and that we see
throughout history the phenomena of jews
who were even irreligious
who would give up their lives in order
to retain their connection to their
jewish identity and their god
so we say hmm there's something
interesting going on there is that
something we could
use for ourselves and we're saying yeah
well we could but we got to
figure out how to
present each moral dilemma to ourselves
as if it were an all-or-nothing binary
choice between
absolute oneness with god and absolute
god forbid disconnect
okay sounds familiar that's what we've
been talking about since chapter 18.
okay
so uh
last week chapter 23 we spoke about it
in in the positive sense that when you
learn toyota when you do mitzvahs you're
totally united with hashem
which is obviously
a desirable
situation to be in
now we're going to just warning you talk
about the opposite side of the coin when
you're doing the opposite stuff so then
the opposite condition is true which is
obviously and undesirable to say
to say it uh mildly is an undesirable
situation to be in um and
what are we doing now remember we are
presenting and i've said this disclaimer
dozens of times while we since we've
been
since chapter 18 i told you we don't
normally take such an all or nothing
view of our
spiritual growth but for this particular
tool
it is of necessity that we do because
that's how the tool works
that's how it works okay everyone is
clear on that because i've said it a lot
of times i i just yeah okay
so
perhaps okay scary chapter about what
does it mean to become disconnected
and this one opposite the other those
are the words of the wisest of all men
of king solomon
who described that the world is composed
in a way
where there is a balance of good and
evil
counterbalanced counterweights
so one opposite the other one
corresponding the other we just learned
in chapter 23 about how you become one
with god through torah study and
mitzvah observance
now the opposite of that
hey
say that holy sh 365 biblical
prohibitions and all of the rabbinical
prohibitions
violating one of those
does the very opposite of what we just
learned
last week in chapter 23.
the prohibitions are the absolute
opposite of hashem's desire
they are
separate from the oneness of hashem in
the absolute most absolute sense of
separation
so what we're driving at here is not
just that you are violating god's law
when you do a prohibition
but that you are separating yourself
from his oneness
in the most absolute sense of separation
why because they are the opposite of his
desire
we were saying last week that when you
surrender to his desire so you're
surrendering to him and you're becoming
one with him and one with his oneness
when you go counter to his desire you do
what he said he doesn't want
so you're not just rejecting what he
wants or doesn't want you're rejecting
him and his oneness
what are you getting so upset about you
know uh so you told me take out the
garbage and i said no i don't care about
taking out the garbage why are you why
are you personally offended
i'm asking because my wife said to me i
was on the way out and i
have to know how to make peace
i said to her what do you care if i take
out the garbage why are you so
personally offended
that make sense to you
somebody expresses a desire and you
reject their desire
is it
rational to compartmentalize and say
well
i didn't reject you i rejected taking
out the garbage
are you disrespecting her am i
disrespecting her
yeah i think so
yeah
yeah because she expressed a desire and
i told her her desire doesn't matter to
me but it's a trivial desire on the
other hand it's just the garbage it
wasn't a big thing
does it matter
here's the thing about desire
a desire can be a big desire or a little
desire desires aren't practical anyway
when you talk about practical stuff so
someone who
messes up a practical job if it's a
bigger job it's a bigger mess up a
smaller job is a smaller mess up when
you talk about desire
it's all the same
desire is irrational anyways it's
impractical anyways because when you
talk about a desire it's not about
the thing if it were about the thing i'd
just do it myself that's practical
when it's about desire it's about the
relationship is it important enough to
you that i care about this do you care
about it because you care about me and i
care about it and if the answer is no
then you're not just rejecting that
thing you're rejecting me
so hashem says i don't like it don't put
will and linen together i don't like it
and you say nah it's okay it's fine it
won't bother you
so what are you rejecting
the fact that it's too much of a bother
to refrain from mixing wool and linen
i'm just picking an example that i don't
think anyone has a particular lustful
craving to go out and do right because i
don't want to offend anybody by using
your favorite sin as my example
so i doubt anyone here has a has
shotness as their favorite sin
so
i don't want to offend you that i'm
you're making i'm mocking your favorite
evader
but you tell hershey no i can't be
troubled can't be bothered i'm going to
mix wool and linen and it's okay and it
won't affect our relationship and the
answer is no but it does affect our
relationship
so here's the point he's making
it's not just
i'm choosing to do a sin
it's i'm choosing to disconnect from the
person
or i guess in this case
the god
who has expressed that that thing is
sinful because what makes it sinful
is the fact that he doesn't like it and
now you're saying well i don't care that
you don't like it
right so when you do the thing that he
doesn't like it's an absolute separation
from hashem and the absolute most
profound sense of separation
continue
literally on the level of the spiritual
negativity called idol worship and other
gods
well went from zero to 60 pretty fast
there all of a sudden we're talking
about idol worship but you knew that's
where we're heading because i told you
from chapter 18 that this is the hack
that we're going to figure out how any
violation of hashem's will is akin to
all-out
idol worship
mahmoud haste
because of why because of the
concealment of hashem's desire as
mentioned above in other words don't ask
what was the sin how big was the sin
what was the nature of the sin that's
not the point the point is
does it conceal or reveal his desire
when i do a mitzvah i'm revealing i'm
manifesting i'm expressing hashem's
desire in this world when i do a sin i'm
blocking the expression of his desire so
why does it matter which desire it was
it doesn't
and not only do we say that at that
point you the sinner are making yourself
separate from hashem but we're getting
even more particular more granular
your three soul garments your thought
speech and action
remember we spoke about that back in
chapter four this is basic tanya i'm not
going to review it
those thought speech and action garments
also become part of this separation from
god
also the soul itself which is invested
in those garments the soul itself is now
at this moment separate from god
all of it the soul the soul's garments
are
now over on the side of the negative
spiritual forces called idol worship
not good
so you thought it was just a minor
infraction
and here we find out well
does it matter
what the infraction was
if you tell your wife
i don't i'm not going to take out the
garbage and it shouldn't bother you you
shouldn't take it personally
after she told you please take out the
garbage or let's make it a prohibition
please don't leave the house for class
without taking out the by the way this
isn't this didn't really happen
i actually did take out the garbage
before i came to class but my wife did
not ask me
this time
[Music]
she's asked me in the past
and it's become conditioning so i
but it's i i just don't want anyone to
be worried that i actually had this
conversation with her but it's a
realistic it could happen it's a
realistic conversation so imagine my
wife says to me please do not leave the
house for class without taking out the
garbage and i turn around and say to her
it's not such a look you're not gonna
leave me over it so i think i'm gonna
i'm gonna just walk out the door and not
take out the garbage
so probably she won't leave you over it
but you know what it's called the
separation from the person
right it's a it's a it's a
rejection of the relationship
so don't say well look there are vaders
that i would do and evaders i wouldn't
do and depends how big of an evader
that's not the point here the point is
does it connect you to hashem or does it
reject hashem does it express hashem's
allness or does it reject his allness
okay furthermore the aid and furthermore
let's continue
furthermore
elizabeth
actually the soul of the sinner and his
garments are worse than the spiritual
forces which with with which they are
united at the time of the sin
so you've joined the bad side and you're
like
the worst of them all
you're lower than that
this is scary stuff we don't normally
talk this way we don't normally speak
this harshly but when you go over to the
sinful side and become one with the
sinful side red rover red rover
you actually
not only become part of it
but you become
worse than it
how are you worse than it
the negative spiritual side doesn't have
a physical body it's a spiritual energy
and because it's not in a physical body
that sort of blocks things and masks
things
it has clarity it knows its job
it's it it's bad but it's bad because it
was programmed to be bad
okay it's just doing its job
the
it doesn't send forth its destructive
angels
in a way that's independent of its uh
assigned programming
the commandment beelam like bilaam the
wicked sorcerer said
i'm not able to
transgress
what hashem
has said
meaning i'm just doing his bidding yeah
i'm evil but that's my job to be evil.
and even though
these entities are called idol worship
or idols
like the gemara says they refer to god
as the god of the gods meaning they're
fully cognizant of the fact that they're
not autonomous they understand that they
are just
hired help
venus
the negative energy
cannot
break off it's not like
in the christological sense of
rebellious
uh satan who goes into business for
himself that god forbid is not a jewish
concept that is not a jewish concept
even the forces of evil are completely
subservient to god
and to the contrary because they are
spiritual entities they have a certain
clarity of their own lack of autonomy
because they know they understand that
their entire subsistence is coming from
the hindu part
the backside of hashem's will remember
we spoke about that it's not the
innermost will it's the actual actually
it's the outer will or the hind part of
the well
but what happens is they received their
nurture
their their their pipeline they siphon
it off
in a way where they receive this life
force it doesn't become actually
invested within them because it's
incompatible with them because
uh
they are
actually
evil
and um
what happens is they
consider themselves to be gods
which that is
the it is
a heretical denial of hashem's oneness i
want to slow down here
that negative spiritual entities are not
atheistic
they do not deny god's existence
they're in fact because they're
spiritual entities they are very very
very clear on the fact that god exists
and in fact that god exists as a
superior or supreme being
what their heretical belief is
not that they're judged for because is
what they're programmed for
is not that they deny
that god exists
they deny
that god is
i hear this uh okay yeah okay yeah let's
just silence it
they're
i'm usually not distractible but
okay
um
so
they
do not deny god's existence they do not
deny god's existence they know that god
exists in fact they know that their
existence is dependent upon his
existence
they exist they deny his oneness
that's what he says
because they say but we also exist we
are
lower deities
we're not the big god he's the big god
we're the little gods but we're also
gods
and that is the heretical view of these
negative entities
there's like three questions going we're
all like that okay yeah
um
does he does about probably make a
distinction between
let's say the conscious and subconscious
levels of when we're talking about
you know not fulfilling god's will
meaning on a general basis most people
who don't do it would be like a showgig
they essentially want to do it but
they're not able to okay so
this seems to despair it seems
somebody's actually making like an
intellectual decision okay so to answer
your question we
we are going to speak about this in the
next chapter what the psychology of
rationalization is he's describing the
phenomenon right now he's not describing
subjectively
how one experiences it he's describing
the mechanics what happens at the time
of the sin it is what it is now you're
asking well what does that look like as
i'm rationalizing it and doing it
he talks about that in the next chapter
okay and i'm not going to answer but i'm
going to say
did what i say acknowledge that i
understood your question okay and you're
satisfied to wait until okay fine
correct
why is he talking about the
non-physicality of the
because he's explaining how when we sin
we're worse than the energies with which
we're being united because they being
spiritual
um
their error
is not as bad as our error
first of all they're programmed
first of all they're programmed to be
that way that's their job
okay
our job is the opposite our job is to
overcome that and to deny that view and
to embrace the true view of hashem's
oneness
second of all even when they deny it
there's only a certain point to which
they can deny because they they don't
have physical bodies see physicality
allows you to become
uh
much more of a denier of reality because
the mask the facade of materiality
sort of plays into this whole illusion
of autonomy that things exist
on their own
right so these these negative spiritual
entities they don't have physicality so
they're never as deluded as we are
okay
okay yeah
so i'm just a little confused because
the negative spiritual energies
are akin or synonymous with
gods
negative gods they're called yeah well
in in the ten commandments the refers to
other gods there should be no other gods
before me you're wondering why do we
even give them the credence of referring
to them as gods
yeah i mean that's a classic question
but
obviously they are not gods uh in the
sense that they think they are
um because there is no such concept is
it that we give them the power
to be
well that's one explanation that we give
them that power god forbid we can give
them that power or we
from our perspective attribute to them
that power another way of explaining it
is that
functionally for all intents and
purposes
they become as if they were other gods
that's not the reality the reality is
that the
existence of these spiritual entities is
just as absolutely contingent
and conditional and dependent on hashem
as the existence of the table or the
chair
they do not have just because they are
spiritual and more rarefied entities
doesn't mean that they are somehow
epistemologically more sound or
ontologically more sound than the table
or the chair they have no existence unto
themselves however
their perspective is
that not only they do have an existence
uh but that it's a
privileged existence that they have a
status they have a status of
gods
well they are
he said they're taking from the hindu
side of god but that's where they're
extracting their energy from
right and because it's the hindu side
there that plays into the illusion
in other words
if they had a face-to-face relationship
with god then they would have to
surrender
but what happens is instead they get the
goodies without surrendering to the
relationship and that sort of plays into
the delusion of
quasi-independence
so but i want to just make sure everyone
understands the point of
this chapter of tanya is not so much for
us to ever try to wrap our minds
sufficiently around
the world view of a spiritual entity
which would be probably impossible
the point we're making is that whatever
this worldview of these spiritual
entities is it's not good i mean it's
not good but he's saying yeah but your
world view at the time you choose to
separate yourself from god is even worse
than their world view
that's the point that he's making
you understand we're just trying to make
a point by way of comparison so we are
being compared to what these negative
spiritual entities
but the spiritual negative entities of
the negative spiritual entities right
are a consequence
they stay
like they stay in the background they
can't do anything and they're only a
consequence of our sinning correct
no no no no they
they they can't they can't
come into being unless we sin no they're
they already exist hashem set them up
hashem set them up and he gives them a
certain amount of
uh very diminished life force
to keep them going exactly so they stay
in the background
until we sin
when we sin we give them the energy
yeah that's another thing so we feed
into them right but he hasn't mentioned
that yet at this point yeah
right now he's just trying to explain
that
when
when a jew chooses to do the right to
when the jew chooses to do the wrong
thing god forbid
it's not just he's joining the dark side
he's becoming
the worst guy on the dark side because
he's even worse than that it's like
you join a gang and then the gang
members are like whoa guy you're a
little bit too intense for us
like
i don't know
you're freaking us out
okay all right let's continue here um
they do these spiritual entities do not
deny the existence of god they just see
he's the god of the gods
and that's why they won't go against
hashem they will not rebel against
hashem again i i want to make very clear
this is not lahavdo like the
christological view of a luciferian
entity which rebels against god there is
no such thing
there is no such thing hashem is
completely in control
of all of his agents
including the negative agents
who are programmed to do this job
witches which what about witches
they're like from the other side and we
were supposed to eradicate all of them
at one time like the wicked witch of the
east
no weren't we supposed to once like get
rid of all the witches
get rid of the witches
yeah house landed on here
heard some polisher guy refer to the
lady the dmv is shaytan
yeah
killed a bunch of witches he impaled
them
he impaled them
right so it's like
were they the spirits from the other
side
no there are people
no witches are
okay i don't want to get off into this
conversation but
yeah they're people they're sinful
people they're yeah
yeah yeah
you wanna i'll tell you sometime later
the crazy story about uh about the rebbe
with the with the witch and and uh the
amazon
yeah yeah it's crazy story schleeck
there
who uh
went to go
yell at this witch to stop bothering uh
this jewish lady
yeah
should i just just
she saw his picture of the rebbe and she
got scared all of a sudden she's like oh
no when i tried to do the seance for
this widow there was this man who scared
me off and said don't talk to this soul
and that was the man in the picture
yeah it's actually it's a crazy story
it's a real story yeah it happened
robbie alperovitch in brazil yeah it's a
crazy story okay i don't talk about
witches anymore
okay
all right vm kane
[Music]
this is not the point
listen people watching online i'm sorry
sometimes it's class
we get off topic but with always with
interesting things it's never boring
i'll probably i promise you that it'll
never be boring what interesting
conversation we've had
the witches
the most out there we should have like
uh one one session just for all your
crazy questions you know what will
happen if we would have one session for
crazy questions everyone would sit there
silent be like i don't know i can't
think of anything crazy i think that the
question was yeah are those people
tapped so in
to the dark side
that they live in the darkness they live
in that world of just complete available
and idol worship
i don't know
this is not talking about witches
but this is this is tanya we're not
talking about can i tell you what we're
talking about we're not talking
is
when
you're getting tired of waiting for your
husband to make half a dollar
and you want to
and you you didn't eat then you want to
pick a piece of the salad from the salad
bowl while you're standing at the
kitchen counter and it's only
rabbinically forbidden to eat before
abdullah what's the big deal that's
sitra
yeah picking at the salad nibbling
before abdullah is citra
we don't have to go all the way to the
wood i'm saying why are we making this
crazy straw man like because i'm not
drawing a pentagram on my basement floor
and lighting candles so i'm like oh i'm
not involved in the citra accra
three levels and so you keep going there
are no levels that's his whole point
here is that there are no levels i hate
to say this because we don't normally
speak this way
but
gnashing a piece of salad before
havdalah
is
just as much sitracha as casting spells
on people
you're saying citrus like the eights of
horror yeah that's what it is yeah okay
there's something
that are illegible exactly right there
yeah but these are all scholarships at
times you're using that technical term
that we learned
in chapter seven
any aveda
is scholarships of timaeus there's no
gradation innovators is it permissible
or is it forbidden if it's forbidden
bam it's shallow clippers of times
and it doesn't matter if the prohibition
is biblical or rabbinic
there aren't we learned about
gradation right so i'm not understanding
how we apply we're not doing my
gradations anymore i told you we took a
really sharp turn and we're going we're
there's a very specific path we're on
right now in this context there are no
gradations they don't exist
okay
the person who sins
is worse far worse than the sitra and
the klippa itself which is called idol
worship
uh
he's more separate from god than they
are
yes
he's more
of a denier of hashem's oneness than
they are in commission
now he quotes from the arizon
the negativity of this world meaning the
physical plane the lowest plane of
all the system of worlds
is the lowest he calls it the the dregs
like when you have a barrel of wine you
have the dust that settles on the bottom
this is the these are these are the
drugs this is the thick stuff that you
can't sift out it can't get refined it
fell to the bottom of all the worlds
and it is the ac he calls it the
taclosabira because it's the ultimate
refinement
because these this is the real gunk the
real garbage the real lint trap in the
dryer that's where we live basically we
live in the lint trap of
the universes
and lint trap was by the way that was
euphemistic
because really it's not a lint trap it's
like some disgusting like like a
greasy ball of hair that's plugging up
your your shower
drain
very fast because
until you heard okay
that's why in this physical world it's a
tough world it's a rough neighborhood
all the deeds of this world are
difficult and hard and and evil and
that's why evil people are successful in
this world because it's a low world and
it's a world of concealment
ah okay
actually now we're getting into the
psychology of it a bit the subjective
experience
he speaks about it more in the next
chapter as well
our sages refer to um okay they're in in
particular say there's a description of
i'm not going to get into a whole
discussion of
the original context but a man who
places a warning upon his wife because
he suspects her of immoral activity
so the wording is kisiste
when
when a man's wife when his wife will
literally turn aside or deviate from the
norm from the modest path
and that word
kisiste
is related
to the word stus which means folly or
foolishness
and therefore our sages explain that no
one will do innovator now we're speaking
homiletically when we're not speaking
about the original context of this woman
whose husband suspected her of immodest
activity now we're generalizing it to
all
inappropriate behaviors that no one will
sin
in any way
unless they have become overcome with a
spirit of
of folly
the point he's making here is
that there's a mechanism of
self-justification
that convinces us that we are not
playing with fire that we are not
dancing around the edge of the cliff
that is called stuss
da filo isha
hamanafis shiddai takala haisa
going back to the original
context about this woman who her husband
suspects her of immoral activity
even this woman let's say she really was
doing what her husband suspected her of
doing
she would have held back she would have
refrained
if not for the spirit of folly
meaning you're talking about somebody
who i guess
this is only a hypothetical character so
no one get offended here but we're
talking about a weak person she's a weak
person she's not she's just a
hypothetical lady she doesn't exist okay
but this hypothetical lady is morally
weak she's not such a morally strong
person but even this morally weak person
if she would have had clarity about
what's happening she would have
certainly controlled herself
the point is she didn't control herself
because she lacked clarity so what was
the problem the problem was that she had
a lustful desire or the problem is that
when she had a lustful desire she didn't
have clarity about what the stakes were
the real problem is she didn't have
clarity about what the stakes were okay
hamacha
what does this folly do
it covers up
the love the natural love that the soul
has for god
this love for hashem that desires
cleaving to hashem and his faith and his
oneness
and it never wants to be separate from
hashem and his oneness affilonate limits
and this part of the soul this love
within the soul of hashem this will give
up its life in order to not be separate
from hashem by worshiping idols
in fact
that the soul will not even agree to
allow you to perfunctorially bow down to
the idol even if you don't mean it
even to do it as a hollow act just to
appease the idol worshippers the koshkin
like bishops
so
obviously it's much easier
to deny your
your desire
and we're going back to the original
case about this this woman
she has this lust she has this desire
for this forbidden relationship
so obviously to deny one's desires is
painful
but how painful on
on a scale what's more painful
to be tortured to death for refusing to
renounce judaism
or
to not give in to a
lustful desire
obviously being tortured to death not
for not renouncing judaism is much more
painful
well this same woman again hypothetical
woman would have been capable of
enduring
torture and death in order to not
renounce god
so how come she wasn't capable of
refusing her lustful desires
the clarity that was the only factor
because when they said
worship this idol or were going to chop
your head off it was so clear to her
what the stakes were so then it was like
no do whatever you want to me there's no
way i won't do it because it was so
clear to her whereas when she was in
this mode of this lustful desire
she didn't have that clarity the
rochester the the the capacity for
self-rationalization kicks in and
convinces her that it's not an
all-or-nothing proposition it's not
complete disconnection from god
exactly says you're going to be fine
yeah it's bad i know it's bad i'm not
saying it's a good thing but you're
going to be fine after you do it
that's the dos i don't even think the
mind comes into play at that point
i think the emotion takes over at that
point the mind is there because if
you've had a little inkling of thought
you might see hashem in the picture
well it's interesting the way he
describes it is that the the real
pathology here is not that the emotions
get carried away and and i would argue
that that's what emotions are supposed
to do it's nothing there's nothing
pathological about emotions getting
carried away because that's what
emotions do
the pathology is that the mind the
mind's whole job is to cool you off
and it indeed it has cooled her off
in the wrong direction
the mind is supposed to mitigate the
emotions it's supposed to say let's calm
down here okay so it did actually calm
her down it calmed her down
to not be
repulsed by doing the sin
emotions
are made
to be excited that's what they do
so there's nothing dysfunctional about
her emotions
what's dysfunctional is the mind whose
job is to calm you down actually did
calm her down it calmed her down and
said don't worry you won't get struck by
lightning
so the
is actually
in some ways is a misnomer
because we translate it as a spirit of
foolishness thus we translate often as
foolishness but it's not foolishness in
the sense of
being absolutely
um
vapid
the truth is it could actually depending
on how smart you are
could take on
a a
semblance of
even hyper intellectualization
because that's its job is to
calm you down through rationalization or
as i've told this class before what does
it mean to rationalize
rational lies
they are the rational lies that we tell
ourselves
so
the ruach dos
is not this berserk mode to the contrary
it's it's cold and calculating it calms
you down and says you can do it it's
okay you won't drop dead you won't be
separate from god it'll be okay we'll
deal with it later it's fine you deserve
it
it's that your your situation is
different
you
i already have
it's insanity
well it's not insanity in in the sense
of love being deluded about reality
um because no because then it would be
like
you know the insanity would be like well
you are the uh
you know you're the princess of of the
such and such kingdom and uh that so you
got to go fight that dragon i don't know
some weird
i'm just making up some delusion okay at
any rate this this is
it's in touch with reality it's just
a very specific narrative
that
if the mind is not working the way it
should be
but that's not insanity
oh i i think hashem wants me to eat meat
this week because then i have more
strength and then i could serve him
well that's a very from rationalization
the example that you gave right then
there are other rationalizations which
are not religious based
which are more like
um
look
you know look
well the beautiful thing the beautiful
thing about the mind the beautiful thing
about the mind is
that it
it settles it settles and it's settling
which is good because when you're
getting hysterical you got to calm
people down but that power is a
double-edged sword you can settle people
down
in a in a detrimental way which is
instead of a person having the natural
panic mode that they should when they
see
something that could separate them from
god kasper shalom
the rule comes in and settles them down
and says
it's not going to be a big deal
you're going to be okay
it's called the spirit of folly correct
but but it's not folly the way that we
normally think of it like it's just it's
a bunch of three stooges gags
it's actually much more insidious than
that because it sounds smart
it sounds smart
it's not a bunch of clowns
it's actually very laid back and calm
and reassuring
it's actually when you're in a
really crazy time in life
the ruach dos is probably the most
healthy sounding voice in your life
because when you're freaking out and
panicking the rush dust is like this
very calm reassuring voice
now it's common reassuring for an evil
purpose to make you ruin your life
but you don't think about that at that
moment because that's its whole job is
to make you not think about the fact
that it's making you ruin your life it's
telling you you're not ruining your life
that's its job
okay
let's let's continue here for a little
bit all right
all right
um
being
so this hypothetical woman
she has made a distinction in her mind
between
the prohibition of this illicit
relationship which she has rationalized
for herself
and the prohibition of bowing down to an
idol
she will not bow down to the idol
but she will rationalize the illicit
relationship why what's the difference
is it the gravity of the sin
no
it's the clarity that she has
in one case over the other
and this this is this is the
is the rationalization
now anyone who studied chapter 19 your
ear should be perking
up this ruach does is able to numb her
all the way up to but not including the
khakha of her nephesh
valayad baklal but not including the
era
like mentioned above in chapter 19 the
light of hashem which is invested in the
that is unassailable
so what happens is remember we spoke
about chapter 19 the kayak
that is precognitive
on every conscious level
the rationalization
has completely overtaken her
however on the preconscious level
the level of kokhma she still has
clarity
now a lot of good that's going to do her
in real life because
that's not where her decision-making is
coming from right now
but we're just stating a fact that even
at the point where this this
rationalization power called the
ruachtoss has dominated her to the point
where it's going to mess her over and
make her
think she can do something wrong and not
feel bad about it
even at that moment
her
shebang
this precognitive faculty
is still pristine and unassailable and
and
is is
completely not subject to the delusion
that has overtaken the rest of her
faculties
okay
now wouldn't it be nifty if we could
somehow tap into that and get
it
to express itself and to overtake all
the other faculties
yeah that would be nice and what are we
trying to do
precisely that
so at this point
we gotta tap into that hawkmoosh
banefish which still has clarity
because right now it's working so behind
so deeply that it's just not accessible
on any practical level
we got to trigger that to come out in
full force
so that she can actually align her
behavioral choices to that
yeah and that would happen
if she had never made that distinction
then
the
then all of her faculties would be
aligned with what her shebang knows
having made that distinction
all of her faculties are now subject to
this delusion
is unassailable it is not subject to the
delusion but it's not really helping on
a practical level because on a conscious
level she's unaware
of that clarity that she has
it's funny because i she has clarity but
it's on a completely unconscious level
so a lot of good it does on a practical
level right
all right
alva emma
the truth is the stark truth is
that anyone who does any sin even what
we call a minor sin
is going against god's will
so it doesn't matter if your wife said
uh
stop making fun of my mother or if she
said don't leave the house without
taking the taking out the garbage it's
irrelevant what the
request was
to deny the request is to deny the
relationship
but don't confuse the two because here
we're talking about the
of the nephesh and the ratzing of hashem
so anyways we're talking about two
different parties
so when a person does any sin he's
completely absolutely 100 percent not
99.9
separate from god
more than the spiritual entities of idol
worship itself
and more disconnected than even all the
yucky things in the world that come from
the
the negativity shaheen behemoth
foreign
we are more separate even than the yucky
creepy crawly things like it says
that and that preceded you and that was
created before your pirish
even the lowly creature called the nap
mosquito
that it takes in but it doesn't give out
it's just a blood sucker it's the
absolutely most useless thing
it's just a total parasite shi klippa
yes
this is the lowest thing que demas licia
heita but it's higher than a person who
is actively sinful in the moment
bistauslas rita
as far as the level of divine will that
is
that is running into it the kosher king
uh
he's lower than all the nasty
scary animals lions and tigers and bears
he's lower than them
because they're just doing their job
they're just doing their mission they
don't deviate from their mission or
commission kosovo like it says
the fear of you of man will be upon all
the predatory animals
like the sages say
them
a predatory animal will not attack a
person
and unless the person appears like an
animal if he retains his human dignity
then the animal will not attack him but
siddique of shayne salamanca
who retained their tsalam elekim they
retained the image of god
called
kaffiyun kamayo kameha kazu bazaar gabi
daniel begetrois then all the animals
are subservient to them like daniel in
the lion's den
so i'm going to stop here
and uh just sum up in
20 second summary
what we've said so cause someone give me
a pen just so we can mark off where we
got up to because we did not finish the
chapter we got up till daniel and the
lions then okay
um but the point is
that
just like last week chapter 23 through
doing the mitzvahs and learning tater
we're one with hashem here by
deviating from hashem's will
any type of will it doesn't matter the
rabbinical biblical doesn't okay that is
complete separation to what extent more
than the spiritual negative entities
with which were we're uniting because
they're doing what they were programmed
to do we're actually willfully choosing
it
and so yeah this is pretty bad pretty
scary don't have bad dreams we're going
to be finished with this in a couple
weeks and then we'll get we're going to
move on to some other topics
