Jordan and he's part of Jay wave which is one of the programs that works with teens and allows teens who are in public school to explore Judaism and get you know it tastes from the inside right is that yeah okay so here's Jordan Jordan say hi this is your camera right there alright so I want it I want to let's let's find out a little bit you know let's let's dig inside so tell me what happened before huzzah well weren't were were you in your life loud loud we gotta for you I was like when I was from first to fourth grade then I transferred to public school and I was in public school for about four years in which public school right so in public school where there are the Jews over there yeah Posse yeah how many Jews about you think towards the end more like more 10 like 10 okay and they're and they're not like they weren't like religious religious so like Friday night you would she'll you go out to clubs you have a good time you were kids yeah oh your kids okay fine that's right alright so you couldn't you can't talk about it I got it okay so alright so then then something changed what's changed what what we just we decided to go one of our friends where I was a sophomore in high school we we heard about this program and nearby synagogues but Gabrielle and we stopped by and it ended up being just like a bunch of my guys we all hung out there there was a rabbi wrapped mulch it was think about my mom I know right we met him there it was like a small group it started out very small and he would just talk to us we would Eve hang out it was just like a very fun time like once a week we would go like what was fun about it oh you with all your friends you learned you ate it was just like a good environment we all got to like hang out like it was good times like it was a good place to hang out with your friends like were there like games or yeah no we learned we food they head over to change food that'll bring me anywhere yeah great and and so from that point would you go after that yeah no so Joey started expanding and we met our rabbi rabbi Rahimi and ever since then we so started like learning more every week with him twice a week sometimes and he brought us a lot closer as well like what did you learn different topics like for example like oh how about like I shown what he like how he's real or some tomorrow God in the world yeah and then for me the most amazing thing with Rabbi Yaakov we went to his house for Shabbat on the fruit for the first time ever now the first time I ever kept Shabbat at his house and everything and that's all he got us into keeping Shabbat we did that a few times and now I keep Shabbat for that's an amazing story so like the first Shabbat you ever had yeah at the rabbi's house what about the Shabbat made you feel that this is something that you want to do again I mean I always was considering it but I felt it was very hard and then going through like my rabbis house made it seem like it was easy to do and something we can easily just like just not use our phones and it wasn't a big deal I go to the synagogue learning a little bit and we started doing that so like me my brother and my friend do you like do you like the fact that once a week you get to put down you yeah for 24 hours any screens just canceling shop so much yeah take a relaxing Dale you don't have to work enough to do anything just like relax enjoy a chill hang out with friends have three right yeah where do you dove in what slowly 163rd having suitors it's called bar Yohai a little small a small synagogue but it's like we have friends we have family there like a small little something I've got a good community there that's also there was one message that he wanted to relate to someone who's in public school and it's Jewish that you connect with and just stay close for them and as long as you're enjoying the process I don't want to fast just like take the pace but they keep growing it's not it's not very difficult not
