Tasting the @HerzogWine Lineage Chenin Blanc with Joseph Herzog
303 views
We're loving the Herzog Lineage Chenin Blanc! Joseph really nails it when comparing its bright acidity and floral characteristic to what we all know and love about the Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc. Definitely get a bottle and enjoy it this spring! Here in California at Herzog Cellars
with Motti aka Joseph Herzog.
Welcome Mushi.
We just tasted the Herzog Lineage Chenin
Blanc.
Chenin Blanc, if you know me, you know
that I have a passion, I'm passionate
about Chenin Blanc. We have the Baron
Herzog Chenin Blanc. We actually did a
reserve Chenin Blanc. Now we did Lineage
Chenin Blanc. Why? What is the
difference? Our Baron Herzog Chenin
Blanc, I would love to switch it over
have it this style. Obviously, we can't.
We sell it to the masses. People know
it. People love the profile and they
love the Baron Herzog Chenin Blanc.
Actually a great great starter wine. If
you want to get into wine, you want to
understand the wine, you want to be able
to drink the acid, the fruit, the little
sweetness,
>> [music]
>> just that wine is a perfect wine. This
is a next step up. I wanted something
where you really get the Chenin Blanc
fruit, you get the Chenin Blanc
tartness, you get all those
floral fruit
notes coming and jumping at you. There's
nothing that says [music] it more than a
California Chenin Blanc. I think you
always
are busy and you promote and you speak
about the Rampage the Sauvignon Blanc,
the passion fruit. That is in a New
Zealand wine. You cannot make that style
of wine here in California. The grapes
are different, weather is different,
>> [music]
>> the terroir is different, everything is
different.
My wine that is that as explosive and as
fruit driven and as acid driven and has
all that tropical notes is my Lineage
Chenin Blanc.
Cheers. If you want to know more about
it, get yourself a bottle.
I think this wine it smells very floral,
but on the palate it's high acid, yeah?
Like we spoke. I think perfect with
sesame chicken. That's what I think
right now. So, the nice thing it would
because again it cuts through the fat.
You speak about We spoke about this
actually when we were having Chinese
food. Yeah, that's what came to my
That's what came to my mind.
>> Now, what has typically you have a
greasy food and you have a wine that
doesn't have all that acid, it just gets
lost. It just
I'm going to sound like Mushi Maya for a
second. Sounds like you have greasy
pipes and you have it just goes right
through it and nothing it you don't get
to be able to taste it. Just slides down
the slide, right? The acid is almost
that okay, it stops you it cleanses your
palate, it opens your palate on your
tongue, on your mouth feel the
tenderness. You get all that from
something that is high that's brighter.
We call this a bright wine. This is
bright, so you're getting the floral
notes on the nose. You're getting the
jasmine, you're getting the tangerine,
you're getting the pear, you're getting
all that and then you get the melon and
all that and So, if [music] you're not
if you don't know what we're drinking is
the Herzog Chenin Blanc.
Next up. I get it Mushi Maya. Mushi
Maya. I get it Mushi Maya. Mushi Maya.
