one of our biakov kamenetzky's last
contributions to yeshiva toravadas was
founding the camp or shrag up in the
mountains and he was very very excited
about this he thought it was incredibly
important for the yeshiva now he
highlighted although the boys are going
to be learning
and and learning well in in camp or
shraga he was not with the show and to
tell them that this isn't just an
extension of yeshiva because it was just
an extension of yeshiva he was concerned
that somewhere in the middle of the next
man
boys would burn out they would fizzle
out to just be too overwhelmed
he said you need to take breaks and he
highlighted with the following muscle he
said if you look at a safer torah
they all have bricks between parshiots
between svarim there are many many
breaks in a safer torah and urbiaco said
just as if a word is missing from a
safer torah if a letter is missing from
a safer torah the sacred torah is
possible so so too
the breaks are incredibly important as
well and without a break it could
possibly say for torah we see just as
important as the letters
right the breaks are just as important
as the letters serbiako said like this
we need to make sure that we're taking
breaks and i know not everybody's in
school so therefore not everybody has a
summer vacation but i think the summer
lends itself a little bit to be a little
bit more relaxed maybe at night when
it's still light out to sit out on the
porch or take a chair sit on the front
lawn or go for a walk
as the sun setting it becomes a little
bit cooler
to reflect on what we've been doing
where we're holding how we've been
growing and i think sometimes when we
take that break to recognize how much
we've done
it gives us the ability to go forward
because so often life we're just running
from one thing to the next thing
and there's so many things that are just
bombarding us throughout the day that we
never pause and reflect and think about
what have i actually accomplished and
because we don't take the time to
reflect on what we've been doing
we're not as satisfied with our
honorable hashem we don't feel as great
as we should because we don't take time
to appreciate the midst of us that we've
been doing the mice and token that we've
been involved in the kind words that
we've been saying to our friends
because we're just in the rat race of
life and i think we need to pause
whether we're in camp
whether in the city whether they're at
our office whether we're at home it
doesn't make a difference we need to
take a break we need a pause we need to
reflect and when you do that when you
appreciate everything that you've been
doing all the good that you've been
involved in it will give you the ability
to go vital and accomplish that much
more
