Synagogue of Ruth the Moabite taken back from the Church

Sponsored and footage owned by www.Shabbat.com, the world's largest Jewish Family. Next to the burial place of Ruth HaMoavia, a Shul was built in her honor. During the Crusades, it was captured and turned into a Church. A cross was built in the place of the Holy Ark. As people walked through the low entrance, they were forced to bow to it. Eventually it fell into a state of disrepair and was abandoned. This year, in honor of Shavuos, and under the leadership of Rabbi Ben Packer, the stones and rubble were painstakingly cleared, the cross was removed, and before the eyes of our Jewish brothers and sisters, this 1500 year old memorial to Ruth was rededicated as a Shul.
