okay that may be easier so grab my buyer let's start with food I think because food is a challenge for the coach to travel right you have some you got some responses to an inquiry what is would write the challenge basically I looked at it they all said food so it's a challenge getting you know it's been like that ever since we were you know when we were kids and we had that I remember you know my mother having to pack the whole cooler full of food to go more mirror and then as a kid looking at all the people who don't keep kosher you know going out to eat at night and you're stuck you know eating cold cut sandwiches if you're lucky right well so it's a problem but you know the truth is when I travel for the starcade so I don't usually take food with me unless I'm going overseas but if I'm staying here in these in the United States then I mean this there's plenty available in Super Mario market there's Walmart's all over the place does close your food out there right you can purchase not talking really about meat things like that but is there certainly you know fish and you know things of that nature this also course peanut butter but I have regular meals like I have at home obviously our challenger that's a problem so so on that note when you go to the airports you know you see everybody lining up to buy food because it's lunchtime at suppertime and and they have to they have to have something we did a article recently on something that not everybody knows about in the New York area JFK LaGuardia Newark there is available some really decent stark a certified meals sandwich sandwich it and I have some salads and meals and march against that brought an article Valley it's on our website and actually i was in newark once and I went out and I bought the starcade sandwiches they're there under the fresco brand any good yeah surprised I mean not surprisingly but I mean it was gone it was good and the main thing I liked about it was that it was the same price as the non-kosher sandwiches now it's not cheap it's not like you're surprised that you're going to get you know in your local store but that's that but it wasn't more expensive just because it was conscious I think it was ten or eleven dollars of sandwich what you thats well that's that's what that's it was the same prices in on cosier sheesh so I am NOT a bigger expense account oh I got a bag of chips that I feel lucky when you're hungry so it does it does help so you have to look for the the you have to make sure you're getting the kosher product the labels are the same when they say color as the as a non-kosher the name is different it's called fresco fresco kosher it says that clearly unable to same color I think the green issue there was that on purpose I think that's the only way the airport would allow it didn't they didn't want to have you know Moishe's hey Misha brand of sandwiches being sold so it has a different name it has it different it has i did a little different look and as a star kelly on it you have to look for the action it's available in let's say in newark there naseebo express stands sebo express see IBO which sells also you know they sell everything they sell food and other things as well there is a near the gate in newark airport if you ever go to Erin to stroll from Newark on your nitin it's a near gate 139th all the way in the back of terminal see that make people go to swell from yes like that because they have a special security system over there it's not an open area area you have to go through a double check before you get on the flight to air to throw the newark flight united and over there there's a complete kosher market like everything in the store is kosher I've never been there but yeah not everything is Starrcade they have the sandwich is there too they sell well sebo itself is stocking kosher stuff there that's nice I'm good of course you have to check the symbol on each each item then you have more do you have seven locations you have a JFK 10 or 15 locations and in JFK they also become a different names called box box chef but also has a Starrcade and and you want to look for it look for it there now I have a question for you now looking great if we could put that into the rest stops or the ones on the first Lyoko doppio credit well I guess it has to do with the with the domain you want to know how much demand it would be on the Jersey Turnpike probably not once in a while there might be yeah room 17 husband okay so I have a question for you a little bit out of the box or a buyer and I want to see what our listeners think about this i was in atlanta on monday visit the point and if you listening to the news at all you know that the lines for a security are out the door literally out the door Howard waiting four hours for for for the for the flights even the pre-check which is you know you go through a pre-screening with the TSA those lines are all so long and I was putting nervous about it and actually turned out not to be that bad but somebody gave me a trial subscription to something called clear clear clear is a orange it's a private company you give them your fingerprints the driver's license your they scan your retina and and then give him a free ad by the way well I'm just I have a question about it okay hush gothic question and then you have to pay a certain amount every year I the trial so it was free and then basically they cut the line for you and they take you into the clear line which goes in front of everybody else who's waiting and takes you right to before the scanners so you only like we have to wait for three or four people who are ahead of you the line could be in other two hours long but you're going right right in front right my question for the listeners is I felt a little uncomfortable I'm coming in our listeners survey yes I couldn't make a poll but I didn't do that do you feel that there's anything you know dressed as a religious person a front person and is there anything would you hesitate to do that I paid for it you can pay for it too or do you think we should put like a look baseball cap do you say i was wearing wearing your brother you know a black hat do you think that a person should shy away from that and we're not doing it or it's okay because i paid for it you can pay for it is about isn't it I one thing I would say from a la la feat perspective is it's not it's not you can't call it a skill a sham that's why I'm not doing anything wrong it can't be called a lot like technically it's not a selection but is it something that we should is it is that what you're doing is like this clear thing is I'm like a pig its outline doors it's obvious because this special lane it's as clear on it and actually the clear personnel bring you to the front of the line they have to actually escort you they scored you with their badge and they show their badge the TSA agent and then you just go through let's just clear what did the clear engineer clear agent the clear person you know there's a person who works for clear yeah he has like a little bad they have a badge and a show to the TSA right yeah not clear so I I want to hear what what would would powerful jobs so they have okay so so Mendel says he saw it in Denver they only have in ten airports in bwi in baltimore airport is one of the lucky airports than have it so for a person who travels from bwi constantly it would actually be a great help because you don't have to you don't know normally how much to a lot to wait on line the half hour now I'd only have two hours in Atlanta three hours Chicago sometimes right but now that they fired the head of tsa some things should get better nothing I'm banking on it if you have this you just wait five minutes so so I think the pre-check people kind of got used to that that you know you're on that long you know that I don't think there's any issue with that but this is kind of a new thing and you're kind of butting in I took a little bit of a survey and I got differing differing answers some people said there's nothing wrong with it and if people think is they love is sort of it look at you funny at anti-semitic a little bit it doesn't matter whatever you do they look at you like that and they don't have a problem with a lot of people said no it feels a little funny to cut into the line even if you're doing it you know legally I think it depends how long the line is it's a really long line than rice babe oh I guess it's Abe from from Chicago to do it rabbi aide says he sees nothing wrong with it you pay for it everyone can do the same Mendel also says he doesn't see a problem we chose you smart okay i'm especially smart since i'll blow drying it out my keys and I don't let you like kosher meals is super kosher and they don't they don't give it you can give me the regular kosher meal and I learned did you show them you're clear I've learned that you have to ask from if you're going from the US television regal meal and not just the kosher meal ask them to put you down for the Regal me let's and brand names that they give you that's from from the USFL us yeah tel Aviv back to the US they supposed to input clock Glatt Kosher and then if you're looking for these you know super duper kosher meals that should that should be the be the way to get it when you flying through Europe you know rabbi European stuff that's it that's kind of a opening it you know right you gotta know who's what the soup you know your again debate of the bottom line I shouldn't wait until you're about to eat it to find out if they have strippers relia but I try to find out before you but those European certifications and sometimes less well-known we try to help you if your call us at 410 44 4 expertise when you're running you're traveling what kind of soda can you order can you order a coke all over the world or you have something right we're going to talk about that maybe um domestic you mean within North America so you should be able to drink whatever you drink on the street whatever you combine the story it's the same soda that you have here only airlines as far as we know once you leave North America then things become more complicated the what we've been told at least recently I believe that akko came out with a yeah it was a couple few months ago they were speaking about coca-cola and Pepsi products around the world so I think they were there they came out with saying that coca-cola products in in Europe in Western Europe which would be England and particularly France places like that were fine and also i think in australian obviously in Israel but once you get to Eastern Europe I don't think that's I'm not sure about Russia nowadays because maybe Russia has had a bit of a bit of a renaissance Jewish ly speaking so it could be that the local conscious people there might be taken care of it pepsi-cola as far as I know is is the same pretty much around the world except for I think a couple of country not not talk about Africa and not talking about the countries in Asia but in Europe and Australia South America except for maybe Venezuela we were told at Pepsi should be fine so if I'm traveling so basically if I'm traveling to Europe through you're to Israel or whatever to rest in Europe I think I think the sodas are fine it's okay if you're you know if you're flying flying through Istanbul right I'm not sure what the interview get turkey turkish so yeah not sure about the story is there okay all right I mean the same thing would be if you're traveling about Scandinavia you know right i think scandinavia would probably be the same as Western Europe the thing is also when you're if you're on the ground in these places p so impressed can you can you like all the coal in China if I could call in India and it's not clear to something that that's that that's necessarily it's the same issue you really want to know what's the problem what's the potential problem of coke or pepsi and asia would be the flavor right there slavery is a different thing we don't know mm-hmm you assume it's basically the same but it's not necessarily true Abe says sometimes a soda from other countries ends up on the plane here in the states and return trip from Europe you need to make sure they can comes from the United States okay so you have to look at the can right so it has a bunch of writing like that you can't pronounce right okay now it wants to know who need to see RCB every list sure put it up hey babe we have one as well and my dad we can put that up and heiress was the first okay right Rocco says he has a problem with Mexico soda he had a problem to water it cause him some lots of all issues that's all different story wouldn't they important to market daylight savings time or not sometimes it's daylight savings time we're here leaving from but not yet were you you know waiting arriving and they will give you the table um based on your takeoff time you can daven maariv two hours into the flight 23 hours and 25 chacras is six hours of the flight until sometimes the time for sharpness is very limited right normally you can downsize from six to ten or whatever but but on the plane you may only have two hours right you know to say the you know we just have the we had the chief rabbi of Norway here right in the office last week I believe right and I know when I was traveling in Scandinavia and there was if you go in the winter time which is I made the mistake of doing as well as cold okay but there's a you can daven that if there is a minion within 18 minutes drive or walk of where you are then you have an obligation to go that engine assuming that you're able to write nothing extenuating but you know if technically if you're in a place where the million is more than 18 minutes away you're not obligated technically to go but the question is should you put yourself in that situation a and B is even if it is 20 minutes of whether half hour an hour way maybe I should still go that depends on the person that's an individual question we'll leave that certainly a person tried to there were a lot of read it then then that's not going to help you but snot will have to read the ingredients and so now you're probably I can really nice and stand that I understand that but they're obviously that obviously mrs. grape juice or it's a grape soda or if it's a weird flavor you've never heard of you know those are certainly things you want to shy away from you know certain simple flavors ginger ale cold waivers are usually right behind Minh says that you never come across another ginger ale right right so right that's my drink of choice wherever I am just going to ginger pickle mmm i wanted to talk a few minutes about some of the hotel issues you mentioned the coffee maker in the room question and I am and I address that in the article i have one hotels on our site we were a little concerned that the carafes might be used for some of the heat up soup even though it's unusual unlikely thing but it is a possibility you know they'll fill it up they'll follow up with water and put their soup in and put it in the carafe and put it on the heating pad and heat up the right we were we were concerned about that but nowadays you tell tell me if i'm wrong i don't even see the crafts anymore right that's all once all usually want to eat it's a cup right one single use I don't think we really have to be concerned people pouring soup into the top they would really stuff it up or ruin it I'm not I don't I think it's less than concern nowadays and it used to be a yoke at least when I can travel in recently if I stay in hotel usually feels like he's pod run a coffee makers right now theoretically he could you could pursue Penelope Potter I think the concern is much less than it used to be with these CML use I don't think a person has to be concerned about it unless you see that it's you know obviously dirty with something other than coffee people sometimes stay in hotels for shabbos that aren't offering their own culture the food and they want to put up a hot plate in the in the hotel um you know that's okay as long as the hotel is okay with it right right sometimes the hotels have rules against these things in person set off the fire alarm Elsa well they want to like Java scandals also a problem right if they're eating in the room they want like Chavez candles in the room you should get permission for that I was in the hotel and we I asked if it's okay and they said sure just wouldn't it wouldn't be a problem one he said one or two candles would be fine as long as you're in the room watching it and they wouldn't set off their smoke detectors they told her that's what I imagine a lot of hotels would say you know nothing to lay no way back no that's what I would expect right but so you can ask them in send and see what they would they what they say MGK says shabbos is practically impossible in European hotel because of automatic lights that's what he says I mean as you walk into the into the hallway I guess one making in a room even in the room even in the room this I don't know I mean I was in Europe a few years ago and i didn't i didn't have that problem I think it depends on how modern I think they're getting more and more common that when you open the door to room the lights go on that's true even in America they're trying to save save money again I've got some way of disseminated that you really need to plan in advance but you have to seek out the the job is friendly hotels call him ask around in the right or maybe it is some way to override that kind of a thing possibly right we discussed right hand this in your article I think also correct right right there are some some places if you open the patio door the the air conditioning goes off because they don't want the air conditioned to escape you know the heat of the outside what's the point you have the door open and you have the air conditioning on it's going to be incredibly expensive if you leave it like that so it was off when you open the door goes on when you close it obviously you can do that just as a way to leave it up with Justin maybe an inch or something I don't know if you leave it over the entry won't have air conditioning all jobs no I'm saying is it that sensitive that little because it's open it just a little crack it'll go off your time right sure thing no I don't think it's the temperature thing so you have to find a way to override that if you want to open your patio door see all these things one thing that I would like to mention is rubber Hyneman has the leniency with it with the keys the electronic keys of course it's better to find a hotel that shabbos currently that has you know regular keys and a lot of the hotels in there to throw have regular keys for shabbos that of the mahajan hotels will have a regular key that you can use for shabbos least that's my experience but you know if you have if they give you a key that's a that's a card included chip what do you do right behind them in holes that you can give it leave it at the front desk explain to them that you need someone to open up the door on shabbos on job as you go down ask them to come up with you and open the door and then take to keep back with them you know you don't want to do that more than a couple times over shabbos to bother them you know you only do it when you have a real need to go into the room like to go to sleep get your little bit of research there are locks that's sort of slip under your door and then have it have a key and and it's a separate lot from what the hotel provides and buy a separate locket one part you put on the inside of the door and then you close it and then you put the other part on the outside and you push it together and then nobody can open your door and it has a little key I forget what it's called yeah those are interested can look into that I thought that was an interesting shabbos friendly sort of lock maybe for next time I'll get the information on that okay let's take some final questions here at my buyer people pointing out some of the issues they have in hotels mmm Ron says in a hotel in frankfurt on friday afternoon i noticed the whole lights were on automatic I found if I squat dog walk I did not activate the lights okay oh ok that's something you can try before shabbos right ok when I came back from sure the lights were all on I later called the owner and was told they sometimes have observant Jews as hotel guests so they keep the lights on for Shabbat I thanked him and told him I was the Jew they had noticed ok that's very good that's a great story in other words you can ask the hotel if they want to be friendly you know they want to have customers in many places you know they want to be amenable and so tell them you know in advance that this is what this is what you need right ok in Tokyo the room key is inserted in a switch in the room to activate the lights and air conditioning as an energy saver lights and AC go off when you leave with the key the Hotel gave me an extra special key to keeping a lot keep the lights on for a shabbos ok so in other words you put your key when you after you enter the room if you put your key in a slot in the run I think I've seen that in depth that's right energy-saving so they gave him an extra key so that he would be able to keep them off your shirt on for shops that's great that's nice has she is asking would you be able to explain why having the hotel staff open the door for you is considered she was too short and also wise considered a mocha miss miss he wants the detail Hologic explanation
