big deal start camest I think I'll eat something rather by this is RK is finally got on there the Merlin the meals they had were fine and certified reliably and but I think what United was trying to do was in terms of the quality of it they wanted they they looked up their game right yeah exactly right so I'll tell you I have some some pictures of the meals Oh started to put it put up our press already have been on the fly have eaten them they're really being served so we have people we have pictures of people eating them no pictures of the meals Oh what they look like so I'm going to show you the pictures so one second where is that let me give you some okay so this is the this is the press release of the way it's supposed to Wow look at that but that's some business class are you flying in the middle of the Ring what is that thing this yeah I don't know I don't know either but it looks interesting okay and but I actually I looked around on the web to find to see what I could find about this issue and I found that Dan's deals that's a site for like okay so he actually got some pictures of somebody who actually was on the flights see over here now this is again I'm so happy that you get all that extra plastic that's so nice this is a business class meal and you can see over here on the bottom this is I guess breakfast for homemade cheese homemade cheese please always tell the kosher consumer on the plane because he's the guy who's surrounded by tons it fly away plastic and what have you so there you can see there's a star K also it has this list extra here is the tartakov basically the shellac shirt for those people that want that you can see on the bottom it says all cooked items are visually well of course because without visually swell with it wouldn't be a problem your problem but all baked goods are posses wrong they're all Posse so for those who wanna let me ask you the potentially embarrassing question which is is there Amazonas role included in the stark a meal I do not know I'm gonna see one but because you know that we have certain feelings about that right um as far as your chin which is very important to some people all the meals are yes I'm sure and they are not at all yo shin it's not correct I meant an in the in the figurative sense what do you mean that they're all home when you gotta explain the joke's on the show then you know suddenly here you want the coffee no they are the whole idea of these Frisco meals as you can see that's a stock you know is it's actually its abbreviation for fresh kosher I think so they're they're they're they're supposed to be fresher and tastier that yeah and as far as your chin goes but I mean the hollow concussion it's not necessarily awesome the reason for that is is that it's difficult you see they have have some sort of cake in here and other things it depends where they get it from that all of their sources are going to be yo shown and and it depends and if it is the ocean it will be marked ocean okay and this is only on United it's not only on United business-class know there's only on United from Newark right now and it's on on United even regular economy the P on class sardine class in the sardine class yeah I still get you can get this with this you don't have to say no it'll order of course you have the special rascal neon orange it's a kosher meal and you guys might be coming from Newark right are you gonna get at fresco mean we got the fresco meal this is you won't get this cut this exact no cuz this is all my cheese blintzes this is in the front if you're in the economy regular frozen cheese what's the catch so let's take a look at some of the other pictures here's this is supper I just want to point out you know the dark has been in the air you know a little bit of salt to we made such a big deal about this good Lamesa king nut which happens to be my account yeah has been serving providing proudly present dreadfuls and peanuts right for it died rice on airlines so I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that we have been up there right that's true but you know that that Southwest doesn't serve peanuts anymore I understand they still have those little pretzels they do I want to do this project with your ugly buyer always everytime I go all is the amount of pretzels and that one bag they give you is that amount to make a bracelet room it's very hard to tell I'm always masked me to ask for a second okay and you could be on say talking about you wanna know that's a shear of the this year right so actually here I think those things would actually be getting smaller and smaller as we go along but I want I want you have fewer pretzels we're actually doing studies in the office now door behind him I was here a few times already another example okay so DW is asking are those meals officially yourself are them too that is a very good question I don't know it's not a star s right could be not in other words if you go into a random restaurant that's kosher certified user star K or any other hash or in any other Ashkenazi have sure you cannot assume that is visually self aspiring which is a higher level you have Azmaria so I could I would not assume that over here either we do have we do have like you mentioned right I know that star yes I don't leave any star as restaurants though right list let's just take a look this is it this is the food open good it looks it looks it looks fairly good this this food looks pretty good then we have you can actually identify what it is that's also being able to identify one I mentioned to you if you look at this actually this is different than the previous meals these blintzes this is what United wanted United wanted them in plastic so you could actually see what's inside of it that's considered to them to be more as opposed to what's now comes in you can't see it uh oh I see there you can actually see through and see that there's actually food in there right that was it's like more appetizing it's more higher grit hundreds somehow it looks more and services like trying to open it and see what's in there and then do I want to eat it you can see just by looking from the outside so these are double seal because you need to have two seals when they put it into the oven right now when you put in the oven DW is saying I'm not sure who who that is but they're saying caramels which is a restaurant which is a restaurant a pizza store in Baltimore is probably okay for spire them and the Royal restaurant also okay I'm not I'm not I'm not familiar with that so we have to just live here well the starcade be expanding to other airlines as well okay so how do you answer if we can yeah if you're offering please call us offline and we'll be happy to sign up it's a good coming from us it was coming from I think the answer is probably this is unique I'm sure we would love to do other airlines if they want to get these beautiful meals it would be great another thing is that fresco already had a relationship with with airline meals at least passengers in in Newark oh because they had that the concession right they have that concession in running in the airport right where you can buy sandwiches ready-made same but not only Newark they have north of JFK LaGuardia right and you go to some of the SIBO see IBO stands and you can see you see meals actually look a lot like this package with that logo and the star K and those year let's kind of gave them an in I think so it another thing that I saw is that in in the in the lounge in Newark in the business lounge again so when you fly you would build to get this yes yes of course the head that they're having fresh hot meals I merely have now is just old tray fresh hot coach free meal fresh shot kosher meals yes what they have now is just rave now you pull it how do you pull that off how do they do that and probably with the same so when you heat up your own meal I don't know I don't know how it works I didn't hear anything about it but that's I'm sure they said you saw it I saw what in the lounge in the business lounge no I read about it that was only the impression that you were having waffles and you know so these are the the when they heat this up stomach this one if they ask this yeah or do they have a choice to do they break this you know they should not break it no it should not pray so I get them your back and the seal is broken does that present me with the question it does present you with a question the best thing to do is to have them because sometimes I'd like to do that I think because they're paid a thing is gonna blow up in the microwave it's a it's a it's a service that they might ask you do you want it open before this you don't know just serve it like this serve it to I'm not sure with that you know what they're doing but that's what they say that's nice yeah so really it's really I think a good good move for it okay let's move on to the next topic which is you promised to talk about the quinoa bug update as we discussed last time with Rabbi Tendler that there is an issue with quinoa we're finding it infested with bugs little teeny bugs sorry what Kleist yeah look like that's what I meant so the kind of stuff you would find in a book right little tiny little creatures and it's it's it's a problem and we're the star K is really not true but we're doing a lot of research on it yeah we have it we have a team of people researching it and and we're you know checking quinoa from all over the country and trying to figure out you know where the sources we have quinoa companies we certify so even in what comes out of South America yes via Peru we talked to the companies there and we're not sure exactly why this is is is happening but it is happening someone when my friends asked me recently a colleague of the rabbi out somewhere and he said he heard this a problem with this star ke hold it I said star K is like pushing but this is a problem it is a real issue and I want to show a video what what we what you might see if you check it the way to check it is you take the quinoa put it through a sieve and and let so it's something that's that's small enough the holes are small off to hold back the kinwa but large enough to let the bugs go through so you shake it over a plate I think we had a we had a link to so I have a video I think we had real issue that we have simcoe's asking is this all companies the answer is all nine star K companies I wish we could say that it's it's all companies with a half year without a half-shirt we haven't really figured out welcome you know right it's the red quinoa the light came on a blue quinoa but mostly we're checking the white king we because others are not that popular I don't know if that's alright Emily if they check the other types but um well it's it's all companies and part of the issue with any of these dried dried vegetables dried grains grains is that you know even when if they pack it sits on the Shelf it doesn't have any bugs it could very well have microscopic eggs that you cannot see and would not be only the flower has as well to write it if you leave flour out long enough in them and moist then it could grow bugs and same thing with the kinwa no matter you know it could be 100% kosher when they packed it but it has a shelf life of a year or two years so we're recommending to get kidding well that has you know it's close to as packing as possible on the words that the the the best by date is far or is far off from the future that means it was packed recently and then but he sought to check it you still have to check it we do have one brand that we checked it at the packing and then we at the when they packed they brought it in from Bolivia we checked it when they packed it into big sacks and then we checked it again in New York when they packed it into the little into the little packet their own brain our own brains called natural earth it's certified for pacer and also it's at the time of the packing it was bug free so when you if you when you buy it you'd want to put it in the freezer right away because in the freezer has been in the grow but and then but you know we just took a delivery here this is where I the closer to pay stuff quinoa mm-hmm so we should put that right away and if we right away in the freezer right right that's nice because mine is sitting right now in my living room so we're out there last night when it came out right so you want to put that in the freezer when I get home okay right so basically you want to check hole they can wear to make sure you haven't got that now if you look at our website check for insects comm could you read that on the check for insects comm you'll see they're the organic inspection okay so it was sent back whenever they tried to sell it they couldn't sell it because it wasn't passing so the rumor is that didn't have enough bugs no I forgot and I'm nothing to do with the bugs it had it had too many pesticides okay so the rumor was a day we're trying to sell it like little by little to mix it in with other kinwa and because it's really old at this point it's a few years old that's why the bugs were more prevalent it's fear see theory that there were no there is a fact that there was a large amount that couldn't be sold and it got mixed in there is that it seems to be true but whether or not that's the source of the modes or not we don't know because it's sitting around and the bugs grew in it we can't verify anything Jonathan is asking do the do the onions affect anything else that is an in in sealed package of chicken I'm not sure what that means if you could clarify what you mean I'm not sure with your question it unsealed an unsealed because you probably well you wouldn't do it anyway right but now I believe I read that they're losing the D it's going to be totally parked that's okay well there's a cause for rejoicing your your Lubin's with your meat and then if you're really sick and nothing else is working so then we say there's no when you do the onion then you could do the onion yes and you can also take halls okay all medicine cough medicine often has glycerin in it and glycerin is something that came from drops for that matter what do not really some of them I didn't know that I haven't seen that okay but the cough medicine has liquid as far as I know has glycerin in it and that could potentially be non kosher so the way that we that we advise if it has glycerin is to nullify the glycerin in there and normally you're not allowed to nullify something that's potentially traif but for this because of a logic reasons we allow it that information is on our website and you can look at the reasoning behind it but we say that if you have a tea for liquid liquid coffee with medicine cold medicines right that mmm that have glycerin so take a teaspoon which is 5 milliliters and put that into two fluid ounces which is 60 milliliters so it's 1 in 12 and that is enough to nullify the glycerine that's in there and how is that enough because our studies show that the maximum amount of glycerin in the Coffman is one in five twenty percent so if that's one in five and you add one in 12 of water so that comes out to be 1 in 60 that's how you get to the one in 60 which is the amount that you need to nullify because we have two people are sitting there like okay now first you rebel yeah so it's just basically another time hey take a teaspoon of cough medicine in two fluid ounces of water and that's the way you would nullify it and it would be it would be considered okay to take okay we had a inquiry that came email someone wanted to know about the coffee and a couple of the hot drinks in even you could use that okay fair enough okay um Josh wants to know can you address this stark change is buck checking it seems people are much stricter today than when I was growing up is that due to who lived in something some 1700 so he says it you should look at everything before you eat it even if it's something that doesn't really need to be checked you should take a glance at it right so you know they were always they were always checking for for bugs okay on the Suzy s on the subject of glycerin please discuss toothpaste can any toothpaste be used okay because that that's the question other things also in toothpaste you might want to look out for polysorbate polysorbate can you write that polysorbate would also be a problem sometimes and you wanted you would want to avoid those whitening strips yeah we get that it's the same thing as it to the breath strips oh there's like Listerine and used to have a hot chocolate those are not the same the the breath strips that you're actually you're eating them they need how much in the whitening strips what happens with them okay never use them yeah so the breath strips you're trying to get that flavor into your mouth and you swallow you're supposed to swallow it it's part of the part of the way of eating it that needs a stroke on it they have a huff cake right mmm the Listerine breast strips so needed to have a chef kostow still has that it's still frozen oh yeah the the whitening strips they are like a toothpaste you're not trying to eat them you know interested in anyone's you spit it out if you could that's it's better to get something without the glycerin and polysorbate which is not so easy not to find but they do exist but if you wanted use the ones with the glycerin it would be acceptable okay so I are you worried about the coffee container is it the same problem with being washed with yes I'm not commenting really on all the coffee per se the coffee by itself it could theoretically be the same problem if you're if they're under no eating habit and they're cleaning the coffee equipment together with the non kosher equipment that's used in the quick check that would be the same problem that you have in Starbucks or any number of convenience store isn't we which one say you should only drink their coffee on the road correct I was just mentioning because someone has this local quick check
