today
we have a
video comparison between speaker
comparison between
the yamaha dsr
12 112 and the yamaha
dxr 12.
both speakers um
are very very competitive in the dj
market the yamaha dslr is a step above
the dxr
rated at 1500 watts peak 1300 watts rms
134 db spl
and it's a wood box so keep that in mind
the dxr is a 132 db spl
and 1100 watts
of peak power and 700 watts of rms
we'll take a look at the back before we
do a little sound check
the back we have ourselves
a nice dsp
um section here pretty simple but front
of house
or monitor mode we have a high pass
filter over here we need three channel
mixer in the back rca quarter inch and
xlr so really really nice
and it's fine cool keep that in mind
now the yamaha dsr
is really built
to sound great right out of the box
so we have
very simple
a line or mic
high pass filter and a decontour mode
that's it and a simple either quarter
inch
or xlr one channel
that's about it in the back we got
locking
power um
power cables over here and that's about
it now keep in mind
for those who know the yamaha dsr it's
one of those speakers that you can
just keep pushing and pushing and
pushing to the point that it just
doesn't limit and
it just can keep up with two 18 inch
subs or even
two 21 inch subs this thing is an
amazing and a powerful speaker so we're
going to do a little sound check and
you're going to see the difference
between between the two and i'm going to
point to that which speaker is sounding
it's playing here we go
[Music]
uh
[Music]
and
[Music]
all right that's it for this uh
comparison here
right away right off the bat
you can tell the yamaha dsr has
you can tell it's a step ahead the
clarity is there
we compared and the video before
the yamaha versus the qsc and we found
that the qsc
sounded a bit more muffled more like a
cone kind of sounding speaker
and the dxr sounded nice the highs in
the mids were coming out
the dsr is even clearer than that and
that's impressive
so
really really nice comparison for those
obviously
you have a market for the dsr and a
market for the
the xr market value the retail street
value on these the srs are about 15 to
the pair
these are about 1200 a pair so you can
see the difference between the two
obviously this one's a lot
better built a two inch high frequency
driver on top a 1.4 inch on the bottom
three inch voice coil i think a two and
a half inch on the bottom here
um we didn't compare that in qsc the qsc
has a 1.75 high frequency driver and it
doesn't tell me how big the
voice coil on the qscs
but here we are for your comparisons
