Day #273–Rambam DAILY Sefer HaMitzvos

today is day number 273 of our daily study of and in the three chapters of day study track of mish we're beginning a new section of hakas we finished yesterday Chapter 30 of h m the laws of buying and selling and that was the final chapter of that section we're beginning today hona means taking ownership either through claiming ownership of an ownerless item or receiving a gift okay so what Mitzvah are we going going to be studying here so you know the way that we learn sa Mitzvah we don't go in order 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 like that what we do is we learn whatever Mitzvah from saer Mitzvah are connected to the subject matter that is being studied currently in the three chapters of day of misho well here's the thing like I said taking ownership over ownerless stuff what's called hefer hefer means ownerless or taking ownership by receiving a gift those don't correspond to any particular Mitzvah so what we're going to do is we're going to repeat a Mitzvah that we already learned at the beginning of Hil uh when we were learning about buying and selling and that is positive commandment 245 the Mitzvah to follow the torah's laws when buying and selling why are we repeating this Mitzvah well because it's sort of related to the subject matter here the the Mitzvah of positive 245 following the toor's laws about how to transfer ownership through sale is related to what we're learning now which is transferring ownership either by claiming ownership of an ownerless item or or receiving a gift from its owner so it doesn't have its own Mitzvah but it's related to the Mitzvah of buying and selling because it's also a way of transferring ownership you follow what I'm saying okay so at any rate while we're doing we're going to be learning this Mitzvah over and over again for the next several days so we'll try to add something you know newer interesting new and interesting hopefully um every day uh while we're repeating this Mitzvah okay we'll see you for more tomorrow God willing
