And these are the people who throw
around emojis. They don't respect power
of communication. And these people you
have to be careful with because their
word, no pun intended or perhaps
intended now retroactively, their word
is not a word. Their word is not a word.
These are not reliable people. I love
this comment in the chat. Haha t f no 4
u 1 f says, "Please don't use those
emoticons like"
and it shows uses a few emojis. They are
charged with satanic energy.
I adore that comment. I don't know if
this person is trolling or if they're
serious. Either way, I adore that
comment. First of all, you said don't
use the emoticons because they're
charged with satanic energy, but you
yourself used three of them
>> [snorts]
>> in your own comment. Were you willing to
take the risk
in order to be
as
unambiguous as possible?
That was very noble of you.
Or were you joking?
I don't know, but either way, I think
it's very exciting. And we've, you know,
one of a a recurring thing We have
recurring themes on the Colion show. One
of our recurring themes is the satanic
panic of the 1980s, which I just thought
about today cuz I saw a tweet that
Bernie Sanders says, "We got to shut
down the whole AI.
We got to shut down the whole AI." And I
thought to myself, "You know what? I
would take it more seriously except the
fact that I lived through
the satanic panic of the '80s. I
remember the PMRC and Tipper Gore and
the congressional hearings and I
remember all the hype and that we've
spoken about this in previous Colion
shows about Monsters & Mazes and
Dungeons & Dragons and Gary Gygax and
all that good stuff. But yeah, I'm
cynical. So now when
a member of Congress
says something is a uh
threat to to our culture, our society,
it's very hard for me to take it
seriously.
Um t a
What do you call Taha t4u1f?
I'm 100% serious, Rabbi. No trolling.
Okay. So,
I
I I want to tell you something. I have a
pretty good read on people
and how do I say this politely? I don't
think there's any polite way to say
this. I have to say it bluntly. Okay, a
lot of people write com
a certain percentage of the population
is mentally ill and they have access to
the internet. So, some comments are from
mentally ill people. I can tell
immediately just looking at a com
comment if it's written by a crazy
person. I can tell that you are not
crazy.
Now,
maybe you'll prove me wrong, but no, I'm
looking at your comment and I can tell
you that you are
not crazy at all.
Um
So,
being that I see that you are at least
you you strike me as a stable, normal,
thoughtful person.
Could you tell me? Could you share with
us
why you believe cuz I have not heard
this before that the emoticons are
charged with satanic energy. Taha t4u1f
says, I feel it. Everyone who really
focuses on these things can feel it as
well. So, basically saying you don't
have more
knowledge about it. You're just saying
you can feel.
Well, I'm going to tell you something,
Taha tfu14.
The more you write, the more I can tell
you're not a crazy person even though
the statement emojis are infused with
satanic energy is the type of thing that
crazy people would say, but you are
definitely not crazy. I can tell from
interacting with you. So, I want to
share something with you
and I want to see how you
vibe with it.
I don't think emojis are are infused
with satanic energy. You You may be
right. I'm not saying they're not. I'm
saying I don't have that feeling and I
don't really
see it yet. Yet.
But here's what I do want to tell you.
There are certain types of people
who rely heavily on emojis.
And a lot of them
are some of the
I don't know how to say this properly.
Um some of the most cold-blooded people.
Um not cold-blooded. That's probably not
the right word.
They
They don't take other human beings
seriously. They don't take communication
seriously.
Um There's something sacred
in the capacity for one human being to
express himself or herself to another.
My mother, may she rest in peace, was a
speech pathologist and I learned from
her
to revere the human capacity for
communication.
And I feel like emojis, and I see the
type of people who heavily rely on
emojis,
uh convey a certain irreverence about
communication.
I take communication extremely seriously
to the point where I'm annoying. Like if
someone will say something that they
don't literally mean exactly,
I'll get really confused and annoyed and
say, "Why are you confusing me?" So, I'm
like extreme.
I know that like I'm way beyond the uh
I know I'm extreme as far as how I look
at
precision of of words.
But I think there's another extreme of
people who are very fast and loose.
That's the That's what I'll say. They
play very fast and loose with
communication.
And these are the people who throw
around emojis
because they don't respect
the power of communication.
And these people you have to be careful
with because their word, no pun intended
or perhaps intended now retroactively,
their word is not a word.
Their word is not a word. These are not
reliable people.
