Bedtime SHEMA prayer

I want to talk to you about a very important prayer one of the most important prayers of the day it's actually at the very end of the day and it's called The Bedtime shma shma of course is the Hebrew word for listen is here isra The Lord Is Our God the Lord is one complete Unity Oneness and this isn't just a proclamation of faith we know that this is the prayer that many Martyrs said in the last moments before their lives were taken from them and it's a testimony to the belever the absolute Oneness of God it's an interesting thing to say this prayer at the end of the day because in a certain way for many of us going to bed is an act of supreme surrender not akin to martyrdom no it's not like giving up your life but in a small little way it's a little bit like giving up your life it's letting go of the day letting go of the busyness and putting ourselves into hashem's hand so we say sha and we say Hashem accept our rest
