Sometimes the person who speaks the truth in a family gets labeled as the problem.

You are not obligated to continue the narrative and the cycle that has maybe gone on for generations. You can actually interrupt it. You could say we're going to change the story. We're going to react differently. It's hard sometimes. I've seen situations of families that are not perfectly functional and then there's that one person who stands up to the truth and they're demonized. They become the crazy ones because they're actually articulating a truth that nobody ever wanted to deal with.
