it's like a big family we grew up in the
show torah center that's the future
everybody's happy to come when i walk
into the school i feel like i'm at home
it feels like the show puts another
piece you know in the puzzle of our
world it's a very special place to be
family
[Music]
our fathers and our grandfathers
who came to this country close to 50
years ago
came with one mission
to preserve the mean hygiene the
traditions late 1980s we purchased this
building over here their vision was to
make this place for all their kids and
their grandkids to be to have a
community remember vividly when they
were building this synagogue my father
brought me to show me what was going on
how they were building and i was just
shocked how big everything looked we
built the jewel we built the community
we built everybody but now we're
focusing on the future and the torah
center is a very big you know integral
part of that growth at the core of every
shul is a torah center
so we started last year
we started learning at night here in the
show and in the mornings i went to zero
to 60 in like now two seconds
every single morning we have men coming
to the show before tefillah and after
tifila we went from starting once a week
twice a week and then all of a sudden
you know we came back from the summers
you know when we said guys that's it
we're starting legit we're starting 6 15
every morning we learn here every monday
and thursday nights the goal is not to
create people that want to go to a class
it's to create people that love to learn
and they can open up a gemara on their
own waking up is not difficult anymore
i'm excited to get up i'm excited to get
here it's great to see guys really that
never learned they're here morning and
nights i probably haven't opened the
game up prior to that in i don't know 10
years or so you have a lot of guys that
are going to work you know from here
they come early in the morning to learn
they come back after work they learn
again the way that people really grow is
you have to take care of their needs so
two or three
young young men want to learn with a
rabbi we want to hire that rabbi
whatever the kahal wanted we were
basically offering them it's not just
about learning with somebody it's about
building them up as a as a person the
whole person and then the whole family
grows the torah center is not just for
the men
we've expanded it to include the ladies
and the children a couple of years ago
you know i started realizing as a parent
you know my kids got to come to school
every week in this school we have over
500 kids coming boys and girls all ages
we get together we pray
we sing pismonim we have parasha we have
stories candy and prizes we have a very
very talented team the numbers are
showing it because the kids are coming
the kids are happy daddy we're going to
school tomorrow daddy i want to go to
school two times tomorrow they're as
excited as could be just to get to
school my kids they come to school they
like to they they want to go to programs
want to go to robert sardar's class i
love it because my kids come with me to
show and we're all under the same roof
there's no better joy from a child to
see them happy in a place where
you know it's a safe haven for them they
drag their parents out of their house
on a tuesday night
to come take them to the pismonium class
a couple months ago over the course of
the summer
the
roy reached out to me and he said
we want to try and get a ladies program
the way these programs is incredible you
have community speakers like jackie
viton violet shkori this is evelyn
miller rabbis that are coming to the
show guest speakers that are coming to
the show the women really are inspired
and they're they really are craving
these types of classes from 6 a.m till
11 30 at night there's something going
on so there's no better feeling than
giving to a tenant center there's
nothing more that you can ask for it's
better than making all the money in the
world i am proud to see how my former
students who are now at the helm of the
synagogue
are doing a great job at the torah
center
even better than i ever expected i'm
happy to hear
that the new committee has a new project
called the torah center i want to wish
him a brook and razaltov to the slc
executive committee and to the entire
kahal for the unbelievable expansion of
the torah center we invite everybody to
come we have programs for everybody i
really highly recommend
that
a person who hasn't seen it yet to come
to one of our shiodim and just taste it
and see the atmosphere see the people
how happy they are we have a young
committee we have a bright future we
have a lot going on we don't sleep we're
always looking to find the next best
thing to offer the best part of this
is that you're doing from the ground up
when you can get involved in a project
from the very beginning
and you're part of those stones you're
building block after block you see it
materializing it's a success
it's something that you're so proud of
hashem is on our side we see it every
single day with every decision that we
make
and i encourage everybody in the atari
community to come you'll love it and we
look forward to seeing you
