Parasy second aliyah. The second aliyah
describes how nyak finally completes the
tava. The pik doesn't say this but kazal
teach us that it took 120 years for
nayak to build this tava. And the reason
why it took so long was intentional.
Hashem wanted that NaK should give Muser
to the people of his generation. So when
they passed by the Tava and they asked
him, "Hey Nak, what are you building?"
He would say, "I'm building an ark." And
the reason I'm building an arc is
because God is about to destroy the
entire civilization. And this is the ark
that we're going to be saved on. And the
hope was that people would actually do
chuva. They would repent and they would
come uh and join Nyak on the ark
afterwards. Of course, surprisingly,
this didn't uh happen. Nyak was not
successful for some odd reason in even
being able to do outreach on one person
outside of his immediate family. And
Nyak was then also commanded that in
addition to the pair of species of every
type to be brought onto the table, the
kosher animals were to be brought seven
of each because there was an intention
that after they disembarked from the TA
at the end of the Mabul, there would be
uh the ability to bring carbonus, bring
sacrifices to Hashem in the new world,
which we'll discuss uh when we get up to
that aliyah. It's been noted that it's
quite remarkable how Nyak was able to
perform this mission for 120 years
straight. 120 years is quite a long
amount of time. And yet Nyak was able to
every morning get up, start building his
tava, telling people about why he's
building the tava in the hopes of having
them repent for every day, day in and
day out, for 120 years. And says that
from here we learn that when a person is
engaged in something that's true in a
mission that he feels is his battlecry
is authentic and he feels it in his
bones then he never tires of it. When a
a person needs to retire, a person
doesn't feel excited at at a certain
point in his career. Very often that's
because he doesn't get the satisfaction
from what he's doing because perhaps he
doesn't feel that it's it's really
important enough and therefore he gets
burned out of it because he feels that
it's not really something that is super
vital for humanity and he doesn't feel
it uh pushing him every day. Nyak on the
other hand uh had this mission. He saw
this as his primary role in life and he
never tired. He never wavered. And this
is also a very important lesson for us
to take that we always have to find
inspiration in our life. We have to
believe in our mission in a hashem and
that will keep us excited whether it's
getting up every morning for davening
whether it's learning every day whether
it's doing mikra uh being able to
constantly uh be enthusiastic about it
recognizing that this is the ruts in
hashem this is what hashem has commanded
me this is what I want to fulfill and by
doing so hashem we will never suffer
from being burned out of anything when
it comes Start the session.
