Shalom
aleichem Shabbat Shalom. Wow, what a
week. Parshat Emor action packed
chock-full of mitzvot the Shabbat and
mo'adim and kehuna and korbanot.
So much to speak about.
Right at the end of Parshat Emor
something that we didn't touch on
previously the Torah speaks about the
lechem apanim the double bread which was
stacked on the shulchan inside the Beit
Hamikdash.
The Gemara at the end of Masechet
Chagigah discusses that when Am Yisrael
would gather together would be olah
l'regel make the pilgrimage to the Beit
Hamikdash during the three festivals
Pesach, Shavuot, and Sukkot in order to
show how beloved Am Yisrael was to
Hakadosh Baruch Hu the Kohanim would
pick up would lift the shulchan with the
lechem apanim and bring it outside to
the Azarat Yisrael where Am Yisrael
stood and they showed them and they
said, "Look, nine-day-old bread. Look at
the nes and it stays fresh and hot. Look
at how much Hakadosh Baruch Hu loves
you." You know, Chazal teach us that the
used to mock Am Yisrael about the
mitzvah of lechem apanim. They said,
"You have a God like Hakadosh Baruch Hu
and you're serving Him in the Beit
Hamikdash nine-day-old bread?" And our
response to that is "He ain't nothing
yet." That's exa- exactly the the place
that it came from. Look how beloved we
are. Look at the nissim that Hakadosh
Baruch Hu makes happen in the Beit
Hamikdash. This bread stayed fresh and
hot for nine days. They would give out
the lechem apanim on Shabbat
as the mishmarot as the different shifts
of Kohanim switched on that Shabbat. And
that just shows the rest of the nations
of the world. You see, this is just a
glimpse of the miracles and the wonders
that Hakadosh Baruch Hu performed in the
Beit Hamikdash out of his abundance of
love for Am Yisrael which doesn't even,
you know, it's a glimmer just a drop in
the sea of all of the miracles that
Hakadosh Baruch Hu does for us in our
individual individual lives in you know
in our families that's just the nising
that happened there. Look around just
ponder it for a second. Look how good
is to us. He gives us life. He gives us
gives us health
and that you know the big nising like
this the
at the end of
reverberates his his words ringing in
our ears from the big nising that
does with us that always serves as a
reminder of the will call it the
miniature less obvious nising that
happened in our own lives. It's such a
such a
merit and a privilege to be part of such
a wonderful nation
and serve together. It's
been a wonderful privilege to spend the
week with you and hopefully we can all
be
together in the spa of
