Shnayim Yomi - Eikev - R'vi'i - #4 - Rabbi Mike Kashnow - The Unique Role of Shevet Levi

Parshas Eikev the fourth aliyah Kodesh Baruch Hu tells Moshe Rabbeinu to hue out new luchos and make an Aron to put them in. Shevet Levi carries the Aron it's a physical thing but Shevet Levi also carrying the Aron is a very very metaphoric thing. The Shevet Levi is the one that takes the Aron. The Aron has luchos of bris luchos of Torah. Levi is the one that that is the teachers. They carry the Torah as it were. Right? And by Eisav he hid the lashem Shevet Levi lasais Aron. You don't get a part of Eretz Yisrael. Which seems a little bit backwards. You can say most people do that's in order that klal Yisrael should that Levi should not be bothered by planting and sowing and dealing with all the mundane work that needs to be done. They'll be free to learn Torah which is a very good idea. But it's also that a person becomes distant from Hakadosh Baruch Hu when he's struck down by all of the gashmius he has to be involved with.
