Shnayim Yomi - Bamidbar - Shlishi - #3- Rabbi Lawrence Hajioff - Guided by the Torah

Welcome to the third aliyah of Parhat Bameidbar. And Rashi tells us something amazing. He says that when the Jewish people traveled, they traveled in the same way that they encamped. And the encampment of the Jewish people was like a square and in the middle was the Mishkan, the epicenter, the lifeblood of the Jewish people. Because of course the Mishkan had the kodish kadashim the holy of holies inside which was the original Torah of Mosher Rabenu and the traveling would happen in a very exciting way. You see the cloud says Rashi would start to travel depart from above the Jewish people and then the Konim would see that and they would sound their trumpets the everyone would hear it's time to travel it's time to go and then the first people who would travel were Yehuda they would follow in behind the Torah. So physically there were travel behind the Torah, but also the rabbis tell us that's really the way we should lead our lives. In front of us is the Torah. We are always guided. Our eyes are always on the Torah and the tablets as though they're on our hearts all the time. And that is the excitement. Every day we wake up and we're a little bit slow to get up and get to the synagogue, go to our jobs. The Torah says, "No, you got to feel the excitement of avote that you're about to embark on your amazing day's journey and you hear the trumpets of the kanim and that leads you in the right direction and you do that by following the Torah in your life.
