The fourth aliyah of para midbar starts
with a very unusual statement. It talks
about the generations the children of
Aon and Moshe Tot Aon Moshe. And yet if
you look at who's mentioned right
afterwards it's only the children of
Aaron. Why then the rabbis ask and Rashi
asks this exact question if it mentions
the children of both Aaron and Moshe
does it only mention the children of
Aaron and Rashi gives such an amazing
beautiful answer. Rashi tells us that
the children of Aaron were like his own
children because he taught them Torah.
And so maybe you have one child, maybe
you have five, maybe you have 10 or 15,
maybe you have no children, but really
you have the ability to have thousands
and thousands of children. How? Rashi
tells us when you teach Torah, when you
support Torah, you are supporting not
only other people's children, they
become your children, too. You get the
the merit because the gamarra tells us
that the children have the ability
through their actions, their mitzvah,
their Torah to lift up their parents. So
every time you support another
organization, you teach Torah to a
person on the street, that person
somehow becomes your child. What an
amazing ability we have to build
families who maybe we're not related to
by blood, but we're related through
Torah and mitzvot.
