Burglars Break Into Residential Home, Shmira Tracks Suspects Down & NYPD Arrests Them

What you're about to watch happened in broad daylight in center of Borough Park. Two suspects approached a private home and forced their way inside through the back door while a family member was inside. Once inside, they immediately began searching [music] the house, opening closets, checking [music] rooms, and looking for valuables. >> [music] [music] >> They carefully moved up the stairs, stopping along [music] the way to look around and make sure no one was approaching. The suspects then split up. One searched the [music] kitchen and lower floors while the other continued upstairs, checking additional rooms, and making sure the home was clear. They went through the family's [music] belongings, placing stolen valuables into their backpacks and pockets. After searching multiple [music] rooms, the suspects made their way back downstairs and escaped through the same back door [music] they had entered. Thinking they could get away, the suspects quickly fled the scene. What they didn't know was that Shmira's surveillance team was already tracking their every move. Within moments, a detailed suspect description was sent to volunteers canvassing the area. Believing they were one step ahead, the suspects changed their clothing in an attempt to avoid detection, but Shmira's surveillance team sees everything using our extensive camera [music] network and advanced surveillance technology. After recognizing them from the updated descriptions and intelligence provided by our surveillance [music] and investigations teams. Additional volunteers, together with the NYPD, [music] responded within moments >> [music] >> and safely apprehended both suspects. Thanks to the outstanding teamwork between Shmira volunteers and the NYPD, both suspects were taken into custody. They have since been charged with burglary in the second and third degree, grand larceny, criminal possession [music] of stolen property, and criminal trespass.
