INSIDE MASSIVE NYC MITZVAH TANK PARADE!!!

[Music] thank you [Music] foreign Heights Brooklyn New York I am currently walking the Hasidic Street of Crown Heights which is where the Kebab labavage movement primarily resides in New York City and today we are having a Mitzvah tank parade it's a parade of converted RVs that go around every week all around New York City to try and spread happiness and joy and Jewish life and teach people about their Jewish Heritage so today is the day that we're going to be celebrating this by doing a massive parade all around New York City 73 converted RVs have been turned into Mitzvah tanks and we're going to be riding around town I want to show you what it's all about morning oh I know you Toronto yeah yeah let's go hey guys wow just got into my first Mr tank of the day it is packed in here probably about 35 people on this tank and uh what's going on Rabbi okay so we're about to go out with time for the day in our driver's birthday what's a mystery with time to remember came up with 10 special mythicists over the years let's pause for a moment to study some history was one of the most impactful Jewish leaders in modern history in the 1960s he instituted a campaign to connect unaffiliated Jews with their Heritage by suggesting 10 Mitzvahs or 10 Good Deeds which Jewish people could accomplish even if they were not yet living a fully religious life the 10 Mitzvahs are lighting shabba's candles to fill in mezuzah Torah study giving charity a home full of holy books keeping kosher loving your fellow Jewish Education and family Purity since then the khabar the bavish movement has invested time energy and financial resources to help spread the word of these 10 Mitzvahs the Mitzvah tanks go out each week and do just that helping people accomplish these Mitzvahs and once a year on the day that the rebel was born there's a Mitzvah tank parade which runs through New York City and today I'm fortunate enough to be a part of it and now back to the Mitzvah tank maps are the big thing today to give a thousands tomato sauce and if they do a good job we treat them out the pizza Slurpees some ice cream we didn't get excited oh yeah who's excited for this fast that came special oh wow okay okay my bad good morning okay this one is a party bus converted into a Mitzvah tank we're gonna be on it today there are 73 of these corresponding to the 73 years since the battle travel took on leadership and there's a lot of wonderful people in this tank we have represent Butler Rabbi Ellie Marcus hey Rabbi yes okay practice makes perfect and Who Who Are You of Remy Rappaport from Mequon Wisconsin very nice mayor lazarov from Houston Texas oh okay fellow Texas so we have a full police escort that's going to be driving us around the city making sure people make way for us and keep us safe [Music] thank you see you soon popping off the parade good morning okay in the house [Applause] okay so we're getting into convertible with after this my parents are done [Music] they literally closed down the entire Manhattan Bridge for us right upper and lower the entire but had the Bridge upper and lower is closed down for this parade foreign [Music] thank you for your service thank you for doing this for us they're walking you the wrong way on the Manhattan Bridge which race [Music] here's the amounts of a Passover [Music] good job [Music] so as you can see thousands of tons of misfa Tanks passing by behind me streets are closed the police NYPD are directing everyone safely so thanks for the parade to get through and that no bystanders get hurt we're in but I'm happy Passover hey Marcus this is the original thing with all the game how are you doing hi y'all see hey how's it going how's your day been so far my day's been amazing I mean I didn't get a feeling yet so it's not like we better start now but going start right now okay let's go all right here we go all right first time on the sign yes all right we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna see how it's done fighting the spiritual darkness in the world bringing light sharing the midst of matzah and uh let's get some let's get some time going to understand we're doing them a favor and I think we're trying to you know hustle them for something class is free it's delicious it's a Mitzvah it's good for you it's good for your soul this is purely out of love breaking the action breaking the action there's a lot of traffic here you know people get asked multiple times because there's guys all up and down the block [Applause] they have the guy two blocks down he asked me too what about going through the park I feel like there's no one's in there sometimes you got to do a little quick read this little skip this guy right here one of those got to do to us take that as a no thank you matzo for Passover at least you can do is make somebody smile enjoyed yeah how do you deal with the rejection no it's a lot of rejects go home I'm gonna go with it she'll cry right here excuse me are amazing experience but the highlights for me were the moments where I could see the impact that this parade has the beautiful expressions of Joy when people were reminded of their Jewish Heritage and given the opportunity to do a Mitzvah while serving as a reminder that they too could be proud to be Jewish [Music]
