Just to see life how really see after
how much I
got to go through life.
Things
Things take time, you know, like when
you're younger, it's like a lot of
special things happen that you don't
really see this hardship. It's good
things and as life goes on
it really gets
as I said to everybody, gets a lot
brighter. Things get much clearer and
it's really just the whole Zahav Yeshiva
would would have been fine.
And with
with Joey, we'll call him Reb Joey to be
his name.
I mean now
it's
It's It's very very special. Very
special to be part OF THIS YESHIVA.
>> [applause]
>> I SAID BEFORE, YOU KNOW, I WAS TALKING
ABOUT REB Mark that how life of Johnny
Let's see.
So, like I guess it's Reb Mark. I don't
remember those.
It is It is It is.
So, so just to Mark this this Holocaust
fire, very special person like I said
before how he said he used to used to
say over similar things all the time.
And and it was a It's called it's it's
life. It's life. There are things you go
through. So, I just wanted to say
many many times tremendous I got to tell
you but I know but Daniel doesn't want
me to go so into it so I'm not going to
go cuz I love him so much.
But
because one of my first Reb Daniel
and this this so so much so much a part
of my life. I used to
to speak about the history over the last
few years
coming down to Emmerdale speaking
how how much life the history is just
hearing something that he got from his
Reb and how how life goes Reb Talman Reb
Talman
that there's is much life of of hearing
over Tyra from how much Hashem reveals
to us that you could hear something that
could change your life. So, there's one
thing
he said over a few years ago.
How a person Let's say I'm 47 now.
And a person says, "I'm 47 years old.
I'm not 47 years. I'm 47 years old." And
it it it helped me so much in my life.
How
many things that that when you don't
realize that you're walking around with
all the years of your life, then things
come up and it just seems funny. Like
Like how did that happen? How did I
react to that? And it's it's extremely
very hard to validate yourself.
And the more the more you realize that
you're walking around with years of your
life. And when you when you realize that
it's
you're able to understand situations so
much better. Understand yourself. Why
did this come up? Why did I get upset
about this? And if you don't understand
this, it's very hard not to be hard on
yourself. Or to just not think about
anything and close off.
>> [clears throat]
>> I feel like that was a tremendous
you said over the last few years,
which I remember another one.
This is the coin that the this
the IV. The IV means that the you say
Okay, you say when a person's going
through something, first try to identify
what you're going through, then
validate, and then only then you could
do the medicine. So, it's it's good.
It's the IV. First, you have to get the
IV ready, and then afterwards you could
put the medicine in.
And
this is so of living life. I just want
to
feel in general like two big parts. One
One is just validating. And just as a
rebbe over the years, I remember in the
beginning of the Yeshiva,
the first few years I felt like, "Wow,
it's unbelievable. You You like every
year you develop a relationship like a
real serious relationship with 10, 20,
30 guys." Like it's it's and you it
looked like life. Like, "Whoa, like in
10 years there's going to be 300 people
on it." And you have this unbelievable
like like catcher like nachi. And then
as the year goes on, you just see life
gets busy. And I'm And I'm in touch with
this guy and with that guy.
And I realized over the years
there's certain people I feel like a
double Rosendo. I could see double
Rosendo once a year. The second I get to
see him, it's like love.
And I realized after a while it was it
was connected to this history of 47
years of like years. You're walking out
of years of your life.
Double Rosendo understands relationship
and he understands that through the two
years we spent, he's part of my life,
I'm part of his life. And after you
realize that, how when you spend time
with people, this is part of your life.
So then the relationships continue. If
not, it ends up funny. People have
timers on you.
I can't not talk to him and I'll see
must be don't care. Or if they start
thinking that because you you the fact
that you didn't call me and that means
you're judging me and it becomes weird.
And And And a lot of it comes from not
understanding what's happening in life.
You're building. There's life. There's
times. So I feel like it's really a
tremendous tremendous
like when I
I wish you were in more in touch, but I
know I know you're very busy.
And uh
And And a lot of people need the time
more, but um
you're tremendous. Like I'm walking
around with many many years. Many years
different like that's what I'm saying.
This This history that you said over is
changing me.
So it's uh
a tremendous honor for everyone anyone
that's here. It's been a been a
tremendous year so far. Really. And
anything like a lot of what what we have
really really has a lot to do with
connected to the occasion.
It's not not about him. I'm saying like
he got it from his and his father his
other and it's it's a we're all just
like
looking at him. What you get should go
right through you and to continue and
and to realize when you're younger
everything that you're going through
now, the more you work it through,
you're going to be able to give it over
to other people and just pass on the
torch.
And then it's tremendous this stuff that
the rabbi had.
WOO!
>> [applause]
>> I I WANTED TO ADD I REALLY WANTED TO ADD
SOMETHING AND I FORGOT.
I feel like this is really a home game.
This is a real home game. Like a real
home game. And I'm I I said I'm this is
not an introduction to speeches.
Next year I'll be official. I'm telling
you might be there might be we might we
might get prime time.
The home the home game is and you know
you don't have to you don't have to
speak. Cuz we're we're we're here. We
could brain. We could schmooze. We could
speak questions answers. You could could
ask our own questions. And it's I I
really really really feel like it it's
home. This is like you're speaking all
over the place.
And that all these other places okay now
the question is going to speak and keep
the crowd going.
You're part of us. This is we're here
together. This is homey. This is home.
Thank you.
>> [applause]
>> FIRSTLY, THANK YOU RABBI STERN
FOR his kind words and much more for the
friendship. I love Rabbi Stern. We're
friends for a long time. Baruch Hashem.
For two for two young guys, we're
friends a long long long time. We're
friends 30 years. For two guys who feel
in our 20s.
30s maybe. We're friends a long time.
Baruch Hashem. Baruch Hashem. An old
[clears throat] friend and somebody I
look up to a lot.
It's a There's a There's a sugya There's
so many things running in my mind but I
want to say there's a sugya rabbayim in
the world and pastor syndrome is a real
sugya.
You're in front. Somebody's a rabbi.
A guy's a rabbi rabbi. And and you know
your flaws. A person knows his
humanness.
You know your frustrations, your
smallness.
I know I know the day
I I know the days oversleeping and and
struggle and rebbe rebbe rebbe.
And it's very normal Sugyan and pastor
syndrome and especially and the pastor
syndrome is somebody is a rav or rebbe.
And you you serious?
And there's a sense and especially I'm
Zaychol to be closer I Stern my Stern
says the word rebbe.
>> [clears throat]
>> So a person who sits and learns in a day
he probably learns more than I learn
maybe in a thing two months not a Gosma
not a Gosma not a Gosma. And no if
somebody is sitting and learning and and
I want to express something that I want
but I want you to hear so I'm not I'm
not wasting your time. It's not I need
this is nothing to do I want to tell you
something real.
When Rabbi Stern says rebbe Yaakov
Metzer he says rebbe.
So a person is learning till 3:00 4:00
in the morning he's finished Shas. I
haven't come close to finishing Shas. He
says rebbe rebbe like it's not it's not
it's not
and I'm not even the heart people say
you the word rebbe.
So I want to express to the Chevra that
there's an MS of what we we all have
Nishamas. And a person can give a lot.
You can give a lot to your friend.
Somebody can call you rebbe. I have
Gedolim who say who they call somebody
rebbe and it's clear all of Clavius
holds the Talmud is much bigger.
It's not funny that they call the person
rebbe.
There was an Akuda there was something
they plugged into. Nishamas have big
things like real.
What people see in you if people can see
something it's not a Chiddish.
So you say somebody is more tapped into
your Nishama than you're tapped into
your Nishama there's such a thing.
Then slowly that can even help you tap
into your Nishama. We have tremendous er
there's a big er in a Yid it's just
true.
And a Yid can can can have an impact can
have an impact smile by somebody be by
somebody talk to somebody learn a
Mishnah say a Svara.
I learn I'm I want to learn more I'm
connecting to my father. I always my
father is my rebbe, but I'm connecting
to him in a way closer than in my whole
life in a certain way. I have a second
seder there's a brocha David Rose.
He says far as he's marvelous in
learning.
It's like a
fire for me. I'm not like saying it like
flattering this neshama. If he would
know I look at him like he's he's
bright. He's sharp. He's
I could say rebbe to him. I don't know
like he says things I'm not holding in
the learning. He's He says far as he
like blows me away. He says like
[clears throat] a
right say to him rebbe. He said it's not
it's not a funny he say he would be old.
He would think it's funny. I'm older
this that okay. Okay, that's fine.
So I want to express the appreciation to
our friendship that I have. I appreciate
I stand for having me. My sense is my
sense there's no reason to say this if a
place a place there were big sadikim
that had small issues and it's not my
sense is enjoy it while it's small now
this place is going to grow. I look at
the staff here. My sense here by finding
here that Joey JOEY THEY
I THOUGHT
>> [applause]
>> YOU WERE CHEERING.
I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BOO. I thought you
would boo that I'm telling you it's
going to be big. It's going to be big
but okay. They'll work on it but them is
them is exciting. I'm welcome to tell
you.
A makom Torah is forming. People are are
forming a makom Torah. It's a big thing
to build a makom Torah. Some people have
the sense that that's like a rebbe job.
There's no here there's no there's
nobody is a
like a rebbe. It's just a good to build
a makom Torah is a very big deal.
The guy is 50/50 to come to a new place
and old place and to go to the new place
build a makom Torah. It's like passion.
It's not a goodish.
Every year is building a makom Torah
another place that people can learn and
stay. Very exciting. It's exciting. I
stand over. I'm remembering like the old
days, like that gym in the basement,
that workout thing.
I'm remembering the old days in Yeshiva.
There's a tremendous tremendous simcha,
tremendous energy. There's an idealism
and enthusiasm. And the Rebbi
of Shalom you could say you you you
nailed it. And the enthusiasm of people
building it's interesting.
You have very idealistic Rebbi. That's
my dream. You ever see Maryashie built
Bais Yaakov? Her teachers were on fire.
They were on fire. I've read about it.
They were on fire.
It's interesting with the Yeshiva. You
want Rebbi on fire, but leave room for
people.
Sometimes it personally so on fire. And
here you have it mamesh Rebbi are
idealistic, but but they have big leg
and big room for people and people to
find and work and grow. There's a lot of
space here. And there should be
tremendous tremendous siyata d'Shmaya.
This makom Torah. This makom Torah
should flourish. The people that are
zocheh to learn here, to be part of this
Yeshiva, should have tremendous success.
What makes something warm Yeshiva ever?
What's the definition to me of warm? I
don't like pretend. The guys have taught
me to
>> [laughter]
>> to come with Reb Nachman Wolfson. Thank
you Nachman.
>> [applause]
>> What makes a warm Yeshiva? The
definition of a warm Yeshiva is
completely pretend. Warm to the guys.
Knock it off. Knock it off. That's a
fake. A warm Yeshiva is where a Yeshiva
is good to his wife. It's good he's
good. And then it spills from the Rebbi.
A nice teacher. It's a warm Yeshiva. If
you ever want to check out if a Yeshiva
is warm, go the day before this man. See
how the Rebbi watch the Rebbi go on they
go on a trip. But then do they know how
to go on a trip together have a nice
time.
A warm Yeshiva is a place that there's
balance is practiced. A Yid is
respected. A Rebbi with his son is a
warm yeshiva that his mom is good to his
son.
A yid called me I was lucky for many,
many years to have children in the
yeshiva.
A yeshiva is only as warm as the as as a
rebbe is his child. And then if that
spills over and another person becomes a
child, then another A yid called me from
Eretz Yisrael. A yid said, "For many
years you had a child in your yeshiva."
He said, "Give me an eitzah. My son's
coming to my yeshiva." Said, "If you
bring cookies, your son is first,
second, third, fourth, fifth. Your son's
first." Any sophist- I'm not talking
about little kids. Little kids will be
different. To sophisticated guys, all
you look at is how is the rebbe to his
child. The best hope is you'll be a son.
You're checking out a community, never
check out how they treat guests. Cuz
they want another guy, they're in
Nebraska, they want another person
moving in. See how they treat You're not
You're not planning on staying a guest.
You want to move there. See how they
treat the toshav.
So, the brocha for this yeshiva should
be a beautiful makon Torah where there's
space for people, there's encouragement
to people, where the rebbaim love each
other and appreciate and are chaveirim
b'emes. And it just spills out where the
rebbaim are close to their wives and it
spills out. Another bochur is included.
Our whole people were We didn't start
from yeshiva. We started from a home.
There was Avraham and Sarah and in that
bias there was room for orchim.
Ultimately, it fit the entirety of our
people.
I want to express No, no, no. Let people
are talking. It's one or it's 12 it's
1:00 in the morning. The people that are
achlas are here is laugh, we talk,
please. I want to express or I want to
express right. Stern said, "Whatever you
want to do."
By nature, I have I have very, very
serious stage fright, very. Now, I don't
like when people say they have stage
fright, they're nervous. Every 8 billion
people are nervous to speak. I'm talking
about stage fright that I've in my life
gotten called up for a tire and somebody
else had to read the after tire. That I
can't breathe. I'm talking about diving
for the almond and shaking. My rabbi had
to calm me down. I'm talking about on a
regular day saying lay low lay low
because I couldn't breathe. Stage fright
and you can't breathe when you feel like
you're going to faint. You feel like you
need hot water. Like a panic attack.
And I could say that what's taken away
completely
and I stern said this that there's no no
rabbi, no no person. There's no you
don't have to perform to do anything. I
stern said it's your home. It's a home
to do whatever you want. I want to
express you don't have to make something
tonight. You didn't sitting around to
learn to sing to smile at each other is
crazy. It's a real thing.
You don't have to come and make.
If you're trying to make Rebbeim are
good performers. We're we're good at
creating. That's cute. That's very nice
to create stuff. It's nice. But there's
there's a real thing going on. Two of
you didn't sit Rebbe every Rebbe should
have when he goes into Shul to make it
You're not learning Torah. It's like a
big thing. We're all studying Torah
together. Cuz I'm not against making
being
That's very nice. But remember there's a
real thing I say sitting here together
that late at night you didn't know
welcome. We like each other. Ari and I
flew from America and we're sitting
here. We like each other. You who the
Brian is here. It's a nice day.
>> [applause]
>> So I want to thank him. I want to share
I want to share one [snorts] one Torah
thought with the Rebbe.
I want to express
that done with this Torah thought.
All Israel calls these weeks Rebbe.
And why do we call we read the parashah
Rebbe Rebbe
Why do we call the weeks after the
parshas of Tara. Those are parshas we're
reading.
Why when somebody says it the right
Tara,
why does somebody say it the right Tara
from that week's parsha?
So a rav speaks in shul, I have a shul.
They speak on on shmays, you say on
shmays.
What's like a rabbinic stick? Why not
speak on a different parsha?
Why you saying you're at a sheva
brachos? Reb Ezzy gets sometimes
frustrated. People like shtup around.
The guy wants to talk about a chasan and
he like corrupts the parsha to speak
about the chasan. You have to study
minhagei Yisrael. Why is he quoting from
the parsha?
Quote from a different place in the
Torah. But we're a holy people, you have
to study our minhagim. What's happening?
Why is somebody why is the rav always
All rabbis thought of the same trick?
We're very big people and what we do is
is is deep.
Make a taste, you get up in shul, maybe
this week speak about Noach.
Noach's beautiful parsha.
Make a taste, it's like a geshmake
stick.
Challenge yourself. Maybe this week you
have an extra beautiful thought on
Maylech.
What's this inyan that rabbonim say on
this week's parsha? Why if there's a
sheva bracha you're saying Torah from
this week's parsha?
So I want to express what we believe.
Torah is Hashem's talking to us, pashut.
And I felt by my rebbe all the time he
would say something I thought he had
ruach hakodesh. He would say exactly
what I needed to hear. I didn't know
when you learn Torah by the rebbe,
Hashem's talking to you, pashut.
We're Jewish Hashem's like a kims you go
to the base medrish. Hashem's talking,
it's pashut like this. My rebbe would
say things like I couldn't believe it. I
was like, does he does he know what I'm
thinking? Does he know what happened
yet? Anybody learns by a rebbe, it's
emes. It's emes. Emes, people have crazy
stories. You go to learn, you learn
exactly what you needed to exact. It's
the way it is. Exact. Mamish exact.
B'dieved you learn I have a friend of
Yianni Stern who has the Yeshiva in
Mexico with we have like a kesher
nafshi. Like after I come we don't
[clears throat] speak so often. It's
like bizarre. We feel a deep kesher. He
has the Yeshiva in Mexico that's very
similar.
I would like two different he learned in
Philly then in in
by Reb Meilich Stern with different
people. We have a kesher nafshi like a
deep kesher. He sent four bachurim to
the Yeshiva from Mexico. Doesn't speak a
word of English. We just have a kesher
nafshi.
He told me he listens to shiurim the
Yeshiva. He likes the bachur like I do
and that changing my life and him.
And he said that he had a shaila. He's
much more mesudar. He's more like Reb
Braunstein is mesudar. He had a shaila.
He has 10th, 11th, 12th and somebody was
pushing him to take a ninth grader. We
have a lot in common. We both looked up
to our fathers. Our fathers were niftar
around the same time. It's like one of
these we just have some kesher nafshi.
It's interesting.
So he had a shaila. He was being
pressured to take in a ninth grader.
And he felt not to his mesudar like Reb
Braunstein not so doesn't make sense. So
he said no. But he was pressured over
and over Yisrael. He went to his father.
And he drives his father Reb when he
asked his tatti he says tatta should I
take this bachur? And his father said
b'derech hateeva you shouldn't take the
bachur. Hateeva doesn't make sense. But
your Yeshiva is l'maala min hateeva.
And he said your Yeshiva is l'maala min
hateeva Yeshiva take the bachur.
So he heard his father he was a little
shaken cuz he's a mesudar guy and it
doesn't make sense to take the bachur.
He had no grades for the guy. He goes to
his car and puts on a shiur from the
Yeshiva. He listens.
And he turns on and I say that after my
chabura is by Reb Olander. And Reb
Olander said 100 guys and I went to my
father and he said b'derech hateeva he's
right. Your Yeshiva is l'maala min
hateeva don't listen. Go l'maala min
hateeva.
And he put it on and that's what he came
on. So he went home and he called the
guy in the Yeshiva. He said he had
and like Yeshiva's came like a lot of
Yeshiva's right and he went out.
But these things are normal when you
learn Torah, that's what happens. It's
like
shoot them at them
when you learn Torah. Talking when all
of Israel is learning Torah, we're
reading the parashah. So that's like
what's happening. Sham saying we have
parashahs called Shavua. It's wild. When
a rub gets up and speaks on not like a
rubinic trick. Tie Iran with
like
you said it will know.
He's saying what
saying is we're all reading this
parashah. So it's talking to me now. You
had a
we suspect try to read the parashah and
see what saying about the parashahs.
But go with an open don't stop and if
you don't see it so don't see.
But go with an open mind. He's talking
to us in Torah.
Very important
push this hard. Torah is not a
scholastic race. It's a connect to
Torah.
Ask what's the Torah saying to
want to
what's Torah saying to you? Learn very
personally.
Learn with your situation in and like
hear what saying. He's talking to you.
You can learn
and tell you what to do about bias
issues. You can learn
it's he's talking. Torah is
this is what we believe.
Call you so close the weeks of the
parashah Shavua. There's a
we're learning
that's what's happening now. It's
happening
and the from
happens now. All of
us learning it.
People see who who learned thousands of
learning a lot always comes out wild. My
father had a nice
people have incredible stories that all
of
for Yochai is learning Torah this is
partial. Klal Yisrael learning Chumash,
reading Gemara, learning something
thousands of Yidden is dvarim pshutim
madly like
So, I was flying to Chicago. I was very
excited to see my grandson. I hadn't
seen him since his birth.
And Hashem gifted my wife and I with the
grandchild and I was going to Chicago
for a simcha and I was excited to see my
grandson. I was had ga'avah.
I just want It It gets tiring. Hugging
pictures is is gishmak, but it's a
picture. My wife and I looking at
pictures daily, but we want to hold the
child, not a picture. I was going to
Chicago excited to see my grandson, to
hold him, to hug him.
On the plane I'm learning the parsha. On
the plane I was studying the parsha on
the way to Chicago.
And I saw Yaakov Avinu gives a bracha
such an interesting bracha to Efraim and
Menashe. He says "Yishvatim Yishvatim."
When Eretz Yisrael
there Ramban Rashi have to work it out
different, but the Ramban says every
shevet got an equal portion of Eretz
Yisrael, no matter how big or small. A
bigger shevet, smaller shevet, the
smaller shvatim got more real estate cuz
every shevet got an equal piece and
Efraim got the same piece as Reuven,
Shimon, and Levi and so did Menashe.
Efraim and Menashe they were
grandchildren, they weren't entitled to
an equal piece, but they both became
shvatim in this one of the last
activities of Yaakov Avinu's life. One
of the last lessons of our av's life is
to make Efraim and Menashe into shvatim
and they got a piece of Eretz Yisrael.
And for all eternity and Yaakov Avinu
says this that
the
Yidden are going to bench you you simcha
like Efraim and Menashe. Parents and
Yidden say to each other you should be
like a friend as I what is that? They
were big sadikim but what is they should
be like if and you didn't always say you
should be like a friend as I what is
that?
And what's this that he made his
grandchildren his children. I'm reading
it on the plane. I'm just learning the
parsha. To see my grandchildren the
grandchild becomes a child. I'm like
down for that. Like I related to that.
The grandchild
I feel when I had children I didn't know
the guys and my kids yet and I didn't
feel as much. I was more emotionally
shut down.
And I'm a little older and the guys have
woken up. There's a lave patuach in
today's dar. The lave even is turning to
a lave basar. Hashem promises that in
the maisa mashiach. People feel much
more. There's anxiety. There's much more
air today. And I'm starting to feel and
I'm like go crazy. A child is crazy. If
you feel I see youngsters today have
children they lose their mind. My son is
a child he's still like a rice from
Caleb. He can't believe he's a child. I
see guys have a child it's just wild.
And having a grandchild has woken me up.
It's woken A child is a gift from
Hashem. It's It's filled. It's
wild. It's shakta for Hashem. You become
a partner with God. You can become a
creator. It's filled what that what that
means what that says is wild.
And I'm learning in the parsha that that
the grandfather says my grandchild is a
child. What's happening? What And it's
one of the final things Yakov Avinu It's
one of his final messages. What's he
saying? It's a grandchild not a child.
What I want to express is that the avoid
in golus the yid feels distant. Golus
people feel I think a lot about the
bachur and I relate to it from my own
story. But a bachur says to me and then
my heart goes out. A guy describes he's
lying in bed he misses shear for two
three weeks. He's in a down.
That okay and he knows if I just get
myself to share. But have the side
described going to share the Rebbe's
lebedike shmak and you're sitting there
and it means nothing to you.
Tremendous messiah.
A darkness that doesn't mean anything to
me. The Rebbe's kish mach have a right.
Yeah,
you're not feeling it. Tremendous sad.
You want a
you want to
I want to tell you it means something to
me. That's a big goal of that's very
that's very difficult.
Very Reb Nachman says for two years he
didn't feel. For two years
it's a messiah for a person. He knew he
had felt many times Hashem
is
Hashem is the messiah that's a golus.
And when a bachur describes that I could
I could relate and understand that
messiah that messiah of you want you
want to feel it.
You want it to mean something. You want
it you want it to be kish mach. Golus
has the danger of feeling does anything
matter?
And I want to feel my tire. I want tire.
I prayed to Hashem.
I revealed my neshama. I did a kind and
it means something to me. And the danger
of golus is you start feeling removed.
The house of the office was a place
people felt. The base Hamikdash was
similar to was was a in of Avraham
Avinu's house.
The base Hamikdash you felt you didn't
just feel God.
You felt how important the service of
Hashem was. Sham na'avod chabiyero that
was like a chiyus. You're serving Hashem
was like big. There were nisan. And that
void that is reason the Kohanim that
void that we did was electric and you
felt we matter and it matters. The
service of Hashem the humans connection
to
was sham na'avod chabiyero as miktashi
kiro yera is like a live pulsating it
matters it counts. The service of
Hashem. That was the base Avraham.
And then there two Yosef goes off into
Golus. All the Shvatim had their
children close on the lap of Yakov
Avinu.
And then there two that are moving
further away. Yosef has two children.
The Shevet was in Mitzrayim has two
children brought in brought brought up
in Choshech.
And Yakov Avinu does the job in Golus.
He says you're my children not my
grandchildren. You're Shayach. You're
Shayach to the base Avraham. And he sets
the course of Golus that the job is to
explain and for people to understand
you're my Mashiach. It's not moving
further away. It's not. It's not.
Menashe and Ephraim, you're mine. You're
my children. You're my banim. You're
Shayach to everything I have.
I know sometimes it's hard but you're
Shayach. And the bracha we give our
children is it should be Shayach Ephraim
and Menashe.
Even when there's a yeridas hadorus and
there's things that it's difficult and
we're human. We don't know we should be
Ephraim and Menashe. You should have the
sense.
The message of Yakov Avinu that it's not
moving further away. It's not. It's
close. It's close.
There's a maaseh there's a maaseh. It's
not the same thing but it there's a
maaseh with the
Chozeh of Lublin. The Chozeh of Lublin.
Johnny you Johnny told me this maaseh. I
love this story of Johnny. My friend of
Johnny told me this maaseh that you have
Johnny tell me if I said it wrong that
somebody came to the Chozeh.
And they try to get in. It was a long
lines and he says I've been a karev. I'm
I'm a relative to you. He said a vaite
dikarev a distant relative. He
pooh-poohed it. So during Shmoneh Esrei
somebody told this year to say to the
Chozeh when he says Elokei Avraham
Elokei Yitzchak Elokei Yakov but like
our fathers vaite dikarev. He said to
the Chozeh and the Chozeh felt very bad
after Shmoneh Esrei it was mikarev the
deed. We're close karev.
The tough getting Golus is the chashuv
that we're close. That even when there's
a
that even when there's a hester, even
when we have struggles to to feel, it's
the half that we're very very close.
We're close that our two matters, our
tire matters. One mission, one but not a
scholastic race.
When you learn tire
study where you're up to. Study what's
in you. Read the parasha where you are.
You'll see it's talking to you. That's a
possuk I see is saying his grandson
should be his son. On that plane, that's
the possuk that like I just read many
many times cuz it like it was talking to
me. It was saying something. And the
task of showing as the years go of
making somebody happy very close and you
shall have. It's the job of the base
madresh, the job of the yeshiva that
every bocher knows he's in. very in,
very in. Mama shaikh, his tire, his
mitswa, his swara, his avoyda, his light
is just very khashuv. Not in a so are
ours, mine, yours. If you don't feel it
on yourself, you can't give it to
somebody else. Our own our own life, our
own things that we do are very very
khashuv. The ribono shel olam should
give siyata dishmaya.
That in this holy base madresh, people
should grow, people should have a simcha
and ruchniyus. They should be have
tremendous siyata dishmaya to people to
be successful to have a simcha,
tremendous joy of their own avoyda and
the value of their own avoyda to Hashem.
The ribono shel olam wants our tfila, he
wants our tire, he wants the shining of
our chesed of our kindness. The ribono
shel olam should give us the siyata
dishmaya to be margish, to feel that and
even when we don't, the strength to know
that it's true and to fight for it for
something that's precious. Our avoyda
counts. Thank you so much.
Amen.
