originally due to covert 19 and with the virus still looming we've decided to adopt this version once more which has afforded us the flexibility to infuse sports awards into the schedule this year we've welcomed parents sponsors and special guests to be part of our live ceremonies and now you from wherever this ceremony reaches you this year shalom college had its very own level of excellence measured by welcoming a team of experienced professionals from across the state to carry out the national school and improvement review we featured in the outstanding range for creating a culture that promotes learning our targeted use of resources and for nurturing strong school and community relationships these are all key in assisting students to realise their true potential and couldn't be achieved without a collective effort from staff parents friends catholic education and the support of all of you viewing today however at the end of another long year it is very clear that it is these students who've taken advantage of the opportunities made available to them that we are here to celebrate awards have been distributed to students in year levels in front of their peers to enable everyone the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and now it is your turn so sit back relax in the comfort of your own home as we have so much shalom excellence to share welcome to our awards many fields of endeavour to the parents and families of these young women and men thank you for your support that success wouldn't have happened without your support day and night for their studies and you encouraging them to do their best on occasions like these we're very happy to to congratulate those who have achieved well i'm also conscious of those maybe unsung heroes those young women and men who might not achieve an award in this presentation but certainly deserve one so many of our young people face battles that we at school don't know about for some just getting to school every day world a better place and take your opportunities to do the things that you want to do into the future congratulations again it's fabulous to see another graduating class in 2021 let's get on with it grace is one of those words that you think you know what it means until you have to define it a bit like love some scholars define grace as the presence of god so when we pray for grace we pray for god to be present in our lives to never give up on us grace comes through the powerful acts of those around us the acts of love selflessness forgiveness and affection this grace of which jesus was full this grace is the life of god with this in mind we pray in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit gracious god you gift us with abundant and unbounded love open our eyes to the moments and movements of your grace in our lives and open our hearts to know the wellspring of gratitude that arises within us we make this prayer through jesus your gift of grace amen in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit to conclude our prayer today the college choir will sing for us amazing grace my chains are gone arranged by tom feck [Music] me [Music] oh [Music] is leadership being a developing skill and how it's a choice every day to lead and you gave us as a senior class a wonderful group of school leaders this year who performed very very well but this year and continuing years i'd really like to acknowledge those other students in the year 12 body who have stepped up and have taken the opportunity to lead these young people have been acknowledged by staff at the college as stepping out of their comfort zones and taking opportunities throughout the year to assist their house leaders and their house coordinators to lead the school so i think it's fitting today to acknowledge those young people with a house leadership badge they've done the job through the year quietly and unexpectedly and without fanfare and without having a badge to show lee to show a designation of leadership but they've done the job day in and day out they've certainly been leaders at shalom for us so we have a few recipients from each house and i'd like the current house leaders to take these badges and pin them on these young people present them to these young people so from chisholm house we'll present house leadership badges kendall dodd indigo madabao hannah
