like yesterday I don't we did we I think we'd probably mention this but with it if we're in any way like that's just let's just start off with what I think we finished with yesterday was that after kiddush has been recited it needs to be drunk immediately could we talk about ladder no yeah yeah for sure but as far as holding it above the table okay I saying it before we say there okay so I retract that ridiculous introduction and we're going to start off today with something that we didn't end off yesterday with how about that this may come as a surprise to you but after you've recited kiddush you need to you need to drink the wine immediately there shouldn't be any interruptions whatsoever huh well that's different from it's not it's not different i mean we're just learning that how long as that's also it appears over here and I'll offers a kiddush that you've got to drink the wine after you've after you've made the bracha I tell you I tell you actually what might be a you-know-what what might be when you're making kiddush right so I when I make kiddush for example I don't think that people want to drink from the cup that I made kiddush out of that's my general feeling and if they do I don't really want them at my each other's table but so what what a white what do i do I pour out some of the wine from the kiddush cup I pour it out into a different glass then I drink from the kiddush cup and then I fill up the other glass with more wine from the bottle and then start filling up all the little all the little cups that are go around to all of the guests now it would be a mistake for example to start pouring out for all the guests little amounts of wine before you drunk from the kiddies you right you need to you need to drink as soon as you can so for hygienic reasons it's okay to pour a little bit out in order to make sure that you can now add that together with some more wine and pass it around after you've drunk but not more than that right you shouldn't be pouring things out and arranging people's cups of wine before you've drunk from yours and does it matter how much of the last wine goes into the mixture no none whatsoever just make any difference at all because it's be a little drop and then you can add add you can fill up the glass all the way to the top with wine let's just come out of the bottle and you can pass it around to everybody and they're all they're all partaking of the wine that was used for kiddush even though it's been very much diluted with the other wine that's come out of the bottle that's why I'm so absolutely fine okay actually someone do like this the spirit of this but if you mess up your execution their way but I think they took a sip from the cup and then put it into the bottle and then use that oh you you can do that again I'll tell you the thing is I deny I have a I a ver it I have a I'm very squeamish and I really really don't want to drink from other things that other people drunk from I really don't in theory right when you go for Chabot on right and you've got let's say you've got 50 people sitting over there waiting to have some of your kids wine the simplest thing in the world is to do what is to is to take from the kiddush from the wine that kiddush was made over pour a little back into the bottle and then just send the bottle around then everybody pour a little bit out for themselves and keep it going around because that's now been mixed together with the wine that we that was kiddush was made over but again it's better to do that I think it's better to do that before you drink from it right otherwise otherwise you defeat in the pool otherwise you're you've drunk from this cup you've then poured some of the wine into the bottle everybody's drinking from stuff that you've drunk out of her I personally I think that's just a little I think it's a little tacky myself what about the kiddush fountains you see oh they're they're cute the problem the problem with them is you know he's talking about you've got this kiddush wine it get the Becker's in the middle and then it's got spouts coming out all the way around and depending in over your if you're a cheapskate so you've got four little cups over to go if you're like a real fancy guy you could have like 12 or something going all the way around the big very ornate I saw one actually which was really neat which was two tiered yeah we're such as I you know it's got you know 11 smaller circle going around there and then a bigger circle going around the bottom it was really neat and it must have been maybe 18 different cups over there what what's the problem the problem is like this once you've drunk from the kiddush wine there's no of them whatsoever we then pouring that wine into the you know what how does it work you twist it or something or you pour it in take lift up the cover just pour it you pour it in so you somebody the person making kiddush has to drink the wine they come right and then during the right no they shouldn't do that well that's no different from pour a small amount like what I'm saying oh so what I get what's that what's the problem the problem is like this how much report we're going to see them it that how much you're going to drink you you as a person making kiddush you have to drink a minimum a minimum amount of wine if you pour it out let's say you've got ten guests over there right and you're going to pour out the one that's going to use up most of the wine that's in your better what you could do is to drop into the thing Audrey okay we're good good you could do that right on you can just pour you could pour the wine straight from the bottle into the into the receptacle I let it go down you could do that for sure we'd be problematic to just hold up this entire fountain day and take four other small Cubs who you you the person making kiddush brother over this entire thing yeah again what what's the problem the problem is I think so when you are making kiddush you're making kiddush over the cup of wine that you're making kiddush over you're not making kiddush over ten small cups of wine you're making kiddush over the one in the middle right so what's the problem if you're going to make kiddush over one of the little ones it's not big enough you're not fulfilling your obligation over there which we come what may you need to make kiddush over that the proper sized kiddush cup which we'll talk about them in session hi once you've done that so yeah you know what you could pour a little bit into the like into that whatever is that little reservoir over there in the middle that it will drip down into the different cups and then drink however much you need to drink from the main cup and then just take the bottle and pour it in to the receptacle so that it starts filling up all the little cups then you can give them out for sure that that's that for sure is okay okay in clean though isn't it ah no matta clean I imagine so or maybe maybe you just have to maybe just pour water down it or not I'm not sure don't know and they aren't they are pretty neat you know there are pretty neat things especially you know when they've been there sort of like big and there's lots and lots of these things there what a quick we're pouring everyone's wine yeah yeah it's great my brother's got one okay since it's cute yeah you may have to do some math though yeah you need to have exactly you need to actually need all those carbs other ways to go pour it up you spot I said interesting what hands does it delete is there a way of switching some of them off Oh Becca it's designed so that it the full backup equates to I hope you know a cup of the whole rid of them so like if you were to fill the back up and pull the whole lot but now it's official okay however you know you got you get yourself a cup of steaming cup of hot coffee right now you can't drink I thought this is a day we had a cup of tea oh good all rights it I'm means that you need to drink a minimum of two point six fluid ounces in order to fulfill your obligation and possibly the more than that because again Roy Revere's could be anything from 2.6 upwards just under just under half a can now don't be confused here I think we're getting there right just that just under half a can of regular a regular can of drink right so think you think you try and drink off come on go again what what does it mean drinking at one go it doesn't mean you've gotta drink it in one in one go so we see very wise like like well if ur if it can is 303 33.3 asses is 97 enough in it to make kiddush over right just to put things into perspective what we're talking about if you've got something smaller than that you need to be careful again when you come to when you come to buy your kiddush cup right you need to be careful that you're buying something that's big enough that it holds at least a reverse preferably more that way you don't have to be concerned at all but they know who do not assume that they be sold well yes you you can it you again it's interesting can you assume it you can assume up to a certain point which we did you go into silver shops you'll see a huge array of different silver cups and some of them are enormous and some of them are pretty small and again what's the idea the idea is like this if I'm using the I you know a lot of people use silver cups to hand out to their guests right so they don't need a reviews for that so a person can get confused you know you could go and you can see these small smaller things and think wow so it looks just like a kiddush cup you know it must be okay right but it's not you need to just need to make sure that you could get you know you can get half a can of drink into the kiddush cup so when you pour your drop just make sure you don't pull too much oh so that's another thing if you're if you're if you've got a cup which is you know just a Revere's yeah so you've got to be pretty careful about what you're pouring out over there you know if you've got if you've got a kiddush cup which is nice and big so fine you know you know that have to worry you know you can pour out a nice dollar for this stuff and then the rest of it you can drink yourself you can't top up your cup if you put what if you poured out too much look island drinking I want to be right I would say like this I would say that if you have pulled out too much wine and you need to be able to drink your Revere's now then yeah you would have to add more wine into it but I mean to me that sounds like it's a vide evidence is you know look at Fela the best thing to do is to drink the reviews of wine from the wine that the kiddush was made over only only that wine and afterwards again you know could spread it out to as many people as you want now there is and shabbos morning there are many many communities on shabbos morning where kiddush is made over something other than wine right so I would imagine in the initial that you daven in on if there's a kiddush off the damn you have a kiddush after darling of course there's otherwise no one would come to daven right there you go right where and where would we have been without that story imagine at this point earlier what your nose at many many people make kiddush over whiskey right so what's going on now everybody here understands you make kiddush our whiskey you've never seen anyone make kiddush of a whiskey you a kiddush cup and drinking a Roy Revere's of whiskey I they'll have to they'll have to carry him out of it so what what's what's going on our way because kiddush on Chavez morning is considered to be less of a torrid obligation than kiddush on Friday night there is room over here to be a little bit more flexible however sticky mess of of saying that what's been done is correct or incorrect okay but if you want to make kiddush on shabbos morning you should really be using wine or some drink that has the halacha status is where you're going to get this interesting idea of people making kiddush over whiskey because in many many countries whiskey is definitely considered to be camera Medina it is one at one of the withdrawal symptoms because there was right there was nowhere so my uncle and my uncle bought him my uncle was learning in yeshiva in montreux and switzerland so he bought him a bottle of slivovitz I don't know what slimovitz is it's plum brandy it's like 1,000% proof it comes and reinforced glass bottles and it's it stuff is wild you know you can drive your car on it and my mother said they always used to spend the whole family the whole the whole extended family so since been placed us together in a hotel on the coast of the coast of England and she said that that that pesach the whole hotel was woken up in the morning to screaming and shouting from this uncle who was like he was screaming the top of his voice he's trying to kill me I'm going to die because he took his little bit it's exactly the same amount that he would have taken it with whiskey and down it in one go and two slivovitz is you know twice twice as powerful if not more than the whiskey is so yeah okay sorry it's so in order in order to make kiddush even on shabbos morning you really need wine or how about a medina and a cup that holds our of this rich ah yeah alright so you hear you're ready you already hear the problem what's the problem the problem is you take your little shot of whiskey and everyone's making kiddush over this thing and drinking it down and starting to eat and the question over here is yet you know yes or no is it okay or is it not okay so i'll tell you like this there are that you should know that the authorities are lacking authorities go to great lengths I understand why it's an acceptable thing to do if you go through go through the various see you know goes through the various responses you'll see that most the majority of the post of the journeys authorities are not thrilled by the custom of making kiddush over such a small amount of whiskey and again I don't see how you can make it over a proper amount because that would require a cup with a Revere's and drinking Roy Revere's to fulfil the obligation which is that's wild right what do we say it was we're talking about a minute a minimum of 100 milliliters pretty sure 26 and just driven with Jeff Daniels and I watch my rabbi walk out of the sure ok so again i'm not i'm not saying that there aren't people who can't blew it I'm not saying so what were you have in most shoes you'll have somebody making kiddush over wine and that's great and then you do what you want right you want to have wine have wine you want have whiskey you have whiskey whatever you want because what's up shot over there he's fulfilling your obligation so you know you don't even have to drink anything at all if you don't want to you could just start drinking coca-cola instead but in many shoals you'll find especially when people can't they can't wait for the rabbi because obviously the rabbi it takes him a little bit longer to get to win the knishes because he's got a Sega Chavez to everybody and he's got to you know ask everyone how they are and by the time he gets it never sees people have been waiting all morning for kiddush to pounce on this makes a man rich Rosie fit for sure you can age back home oh drinking or whatever it was your your your your your shat your chalice full of whiskey you would make you would make you would recite kiddush like the regular words of kiddush but instead of saying borrow PR geffen you would say charcoal nybridge borrow and then you would drink it and then you make them as own ass over whatever it is or you make or you make a mighty right you do it follows
