this was the beginning of what I would
call the Renaissance of Torah in the
Syrian Community led by a person of RA
helel who Timmy mot and keenness of Mind
was par Excellence my father and his
brother Rabbi habber they decided
together that it was time to come back
and help the community the granddaddy of
the first separate boys high school is
RAB Hill School sh the idea was let's
take some boys and develop them with the
true Tora hash we got nine boys to go
and open up the first class in sh Tor it
was the first kosa high school they let
you see the beauty of religion and the
beauty of what is to be a real T
observant you originally we didn't have
any homegrown rabbis but in the course
of the last 40 years many many rabbis
coming from the community their influen
much stronger the foundation of love for
the children and the love for T
transcends where the school is sh T to
me means Roots you have physical home
and you have home for your spirituality
when you walk into 1680 con Island
you're coming to feed your Nish we have
a fantastic mesh of holding our
Traditions that our community Treasures
for centuries education sh T symbolizes
the growth of my entire spiritual
journey the more I got to know the
rabbis and the culture the more I fell
in love with the atmosphere with the
school and as each of my kids enter the
school my bond to the school grows even
more it helped me develop my way of life
with keeping the turit Vault and helping
guide my children to do the same thing 2
years after we started the boy school we
decided we going to open a girl
school it evolved and we were able to
accomplish very very much my wife Al and
myself both agreed that there's no
better place my wife is also an alumnus
of sh T and my family isem building on
the foundation that was given to us in
sh T my Daddy went to sh you know we
both to sh my daddy and mommy both went
to SH now I go to sh we just finished P
watching my children come and sit at the
SED from beginning to end with using the
hag and the smiles on their face singing
Manish it was priceless my daughters
love coming home on Friday night and
sang Over the D and the parha class it's
very inspiring they always come home
with such excitement and enjoyment they
developed a night learning program where
the kids voluntarily come back to school
from 6:30 to 8:00 to learn T it's so
amazing to see my son enjoying it I have
nothing but amazing memories OFA and
shat was definitely the place where they
got my heart to desire they really
instilled in me that Toran needs to come
from the heart rav's impact on that
school is tremendous I think it all
starts and ends Rabbi H habber you know
some people look for a little bit of
attention a little bit of recognition a
little bit of not Rabbi Hill ha what
does the student need what does the
community need and that's it the G of
illness says if you build a synagogue
and every nail is knocked in Lem
shamayim it would be impossible to talk
any nonsense talk in the synagogue Rabbi
Hill habber built this institution with
every nail being sh sh I've known Rabbi
H habber for you know almost almost my
whole adult life the rabbi is completely
completely selfless uh all he cares
about is each individual child uh and
their growth the m efforts to self-
sacrifice incredible dedication of Rabbi
habber that's really something that we
can never take for granted being with
Rabbi habber when I was in high school
made an everlasting impression on me his
hash became part of my fiber habber had
a vision seeing what he's done and all
the fruits from the seeds that he's
planted is amazing you see a full Tor in
and that is something that is unique and
that's what is most exciting about the
future cuz the future is now with our
new Educators continuing the has by Hill
set forth the influx of young rabbis the
energy of rabbis such a friendly
welcoming environment that also has
enough personal attention to each kid to
make sure they're getting what they need
to grow and succeed I feel honored and
privileged to be part of this young and
energized team that will take what Rabbi
Heber taught us and give it over to the
next Generation seeing the love of Torah
shows us that sh
future is brighter than ever we looked
ahead and we said where do we want our
family to be in 10 years we just said
there is no place that is going to give
us all the values that are core to a
Jewish Home like shat is going to do
it's not slowing down every year the
school is really getting better and
better whatever we invest in our
children is only an investment for
themselves and for their future children
and I'm confident in sh can give them
whatever tools they need to succeed in
any Endeavors that they imagine we get
Beautiful Romance material and we are
just polishing the diamonds it's a for
us to be able to say that we help the
school partner with us to help the
institution continue to grow because sh
was the of the growth of our community
there's no question that they have a
special blessing those that
support this campaign is called honoring
our foundations and investing in our
future we know that you're invest ments
should be based upon our future we have
great young leaders that are all
committed to have sh's future be as
glorious as its past in that Merit of
understanding what the school has done
and will continue to do for the
community they should really give what
they can and even a little more
