shalom is a privilege and pleasure once again to be sharing torah with the koala torah cooler community a famous question that many people ask when we come to spheres omer is why do we count up instead of counting down whenever we're looking forward to the end of school or to a bar mitzvah to a wedding all those situations we always count down 50 49 48 47 when it comes to spheres oh man we count up one two three four five why is that i saw a beautiful answer from a motion shapiro who explained that when we count down we count backwards it's because the days that are passing by are meaningless to us we don't care about the days we're just looking for the end result so what for a wedding 49 48 47 we don't care about day 47 we don't care about day 46 we just want to be over with we want to come to spheres oh we're counting up because each day one two three four is independently significant because each day during spherosome is an opportunity to grow and to introspect and to figure out how you can become a better person in order to be macabre the torah and that is the purpose of spheres omer not just to get rid of the days until shavuot comes but to use each day as another rung in the ladder as we grow closer to kabal satoru wishing you all a wonderful wonderful day
