Sam Sutton for Senate - A Message from Ronnie Tawil

I've known Sam Sutton all my life. In fact, his namesake, his grandfather Sam Sutton was a highly regarded Toras scholar, very important, influential person in our community. And Sam carried that family legacy onto community service, community service par excellence. There isn't any initiative that Sam has championed that isn't critically important to our community, not only then, but now and today. Sam served for 30 years on the board of SVH, five years as president. In fact, president at the most troubling times were when he had a financial crisis. Sam was able to navigate that in a very special and personal and leadership way. Early on, Sam recognized that elected officials can make a big difference and a benefit to our community. Sam felt that we should create an organization where we become political advocates on behalf of our community. And that was the beginning of Safari Community Federation. We were able to cover a lot of issues that were of critical importance to our community. able to get a lot of funding that the humanity organizations qualified for. It's just beyond amazing what we're able to accomplish and I have a theory when you work with Sham Sham miracles happen and Sam was at the forefront of helping us create these miracles. Sam spoke to me about the opportunity was being presented to him. It's something that he really didn't want to do and certainly doesn't need to do but he was encouraged by elected officials to take the opportunity to fill the open Senate seat of the 22nd state senate district. There are lots of opportunities when you're there in the position of power and a position of influence. You can direct things the way to the benefit of everybody around us. He'll navigate these issues and comp complex matters in a way that's fair, honest, and accurate to the point where it'll be the benefit of everybody who gets to know him.
