S.S.S.S. Shiur Parshas Mishpatim

first of all I want to thank everybody for uh s neish to come out in the snowstorm we know it's 24 hours after but even though it's 24 hours after the snowstorm it's only about 4 hours after the clean up so we know it's tough for everybody to come out and uh appreciate it we know you could have watched it online but you still came to here to share personally says in this [Music] week's [Music] is that you'll serve and will bless your bread and your water and it will take will remove sickness from amongst from your midst so there are three parts of this p and I'd like to ask a question on each part of this p and see if one idea could answer the entire thing first question we could ask you the beginning of says you'll serve and if you serve hasem you'll be to the following reward that the P says what is it what does it mean here to serve Hashem there are times in the Torah that serving Hashem means to serve with like we have so we know it's talking that if a person is then you'll be to reward that's what and other places says that what is of your heart different type of is also but seemingly in this we're not referring to mitv and reward we're not referring to any kind of Mitzvah what is the over here what does the serving mean in this P the second question I want to ask is on the second part of the P it says now I venture to say that most times that you see the Torah when the Torah wants to give you a reward the Torah says if you do something then then I will give you so and so then you'll have good crops then you'll have rain then you'll have this then you'll have that but over here the reward seems that it's going on something which you have [Music] already something which is already yours you have the bread you have the water you have things and I'm going to give a blessing into that something that's a little different than the usual remove sickness from amongst you you know I will I'll say this question a little later on but I have a question on that on what it says here also so sh brings down a very interesting thought and with that we might be able to answer what we said over here work how we understand serving somebody or serving a King serving uh somebody that you're subjugated to is something that's only really by a of it's only by a human being by there's no serving in that regard what could serving mean serving means to make happy do something that wants how do we do a how do we make Happy Well we make Happy by in other words when we do wants to do good for us the object the object of this world gets a lot of satisfaction he wants to be mative with wants to do good for all living things but there's one catch the catch that we have here is that wants to do good but he needs us to give him something just take a step toward do something in other words I'm ready to give you everything is waiting to give us all the good but what he needs is for us to just do a Mitzvah do something toward us and then once we do that has a tremendous kindness and he's able to give us everything so now that's what is that we're giving how we serving we're giving him the opportunity to do good for us by doing something good by doing any kind of Mitzvah that's over here not necessarily anything specific but in order that should be able to give it to us because he's not going to give it to us for no reason that's all just wants us to do something good for him it's it's it's interesting to note says that that to provide sustenance to uh to to people is like question why is that hard everything's easy for if he wants the same way was easy the same way anything do easy why is it difficult for to to give sustenance why is it difficult to providea for everybody so the answered and says is no of course in in one millisecond can givea and give everything that every person needs anywhere you can give it to him right away but the only thing is can't give it to us for no reason that's why it's hard it's hard to give it without them they were punished with when did anybody ever get sick when did we see in the Torah that someone got sick so the answer is that there a ram the rambam says that the same way that there are sicknesses for the Goof there are also sicknesses for the for the nees there are sicknesses for nees and a person could become sick something uh for so what is the here I remove sickness from amongst you what does it mean over here what it means is like this when you are when you are the beginning of the and you do and you do things for then is going to remove the sickness of what was the sickness which is giving you the is waiting to come to all of us but if we just take that step and serve in that way and what do we mean by Serve by serve means we give and then he releases what's being held in escrow it's already there it's yours I'm considering it's yours it's your bread it's your water it's your panasa and it's your being well but in order in order to give it to you actually I need you to give me something so that's why the says it belongs to you already and has a mind to give it to you but all he's asking is that you do tie up this P together that that's telling that what you do and do something good for and then of course we'll all be that if we talk to pay attention to that and we concentrate on giving to all the that are just waiting to be given to us
