Rosh HaYeshiva Message Does the Ends Justify the Means The Project Inspire Convention 2021

i'm a believing jew [Music] i know i've got a soul and i know you've got us and i know that every jewish soul has needs our bodies of needs a need for health you've got to maintain a diet you've got to have enough enough liquid you need enough oxygen i understand [Music] that torah teaches us just what we need to give our souls to keep our souls alive and to maintain quality of life for all of eternity because our souls are eternal [Music] and i know as a believing jew that observing champions a day where i'm out of the rat race a day that is dedicated to enjoying this beautiful world the creator created in those six days of creation and then refrain from creating more and stating that this world was perfect and has us week after week take this day off and enjoy his world without worry and refrain refrain from the human creation sitting back and enjoying the world as it is all the beautiful things that hashem put into the world food yes he gave his taste buds and he created ah beautiful beautiful fruits and vegetables ingrained and he gave the human brain the ability to experiment and learn how to process food create food that is nutritious tastes great smells great he created society friendship love he created spirituality the ability to reason abstractly awareness these are all things we we celebrate on childhoods our bodies need this it needs a break our psyche needs this and above all our souls need this i know that and i understand that there's so many of a reverend about me so i want them to experience my shadow's table see how profound the 10 year old can be when talking about the partial rules see what it's like when a family harmoniously sits around the table and friends yes the good food and sing the praises of the creator for having created so it doesn't bake [Music] so we find that the gemara expresses itself in a way that seems to negate our whole premise and the gemara says can one jew sin for the sake of saving another one and having broken this prohibition it sounds like that what's the gemara is that that's what the guard is telling us that it is wrong for his family members to scrape it off which is a rabbinical prohibition to sorts of conditions for example in the case of that daughter that was kidnapped she was killed this was by force she's totally innocent there was no free will involvement here at all we have to decide what what do we compare to what waking up show this morning and forgetting that it's shabbos that's considered negligence being kidnapped is considered something that is beyond your ability to be able because you know every everyone's different what were they exposed to how much did society brainwash them into thinking that what orthodoxy practices is totally irrelevant everyone's another case so if he were to go and ask the creator himself what am i supposed to be doing going to the shabbos field where i know myself the only way i'm going is if you let me drive home i'm sleeping in my bed i'm brushing my teeth in my my washroom i'm not staying over i'm going home the only way i'm going to experience shabbos is by driving that and driving back creator of heaven and earth what should i do he would say you're better off doing this one time driving in china for the sake of bringing you closer and that one day one day you'll be part of the observance the observance you before the observant section of the jewish people filling your life with meaning caring for the needs of your soul it's worth it you see if that's the case then am i am i causing him to stumble am i causing him to do something wrong he's got to do this for himself now the condition of course is that i believe i have an impressive shot the condition is that i'm sensitive to people that don't have my upbringing in my experience that i understand i understand that there are things that would be too far into him and i would not want to put him [Music] if i know what i'm doing and i care to help him i will help the soul of the jew that is longing for meaning for a relationship with the creator to fulfillment of the commandments that give life to the soul for all of eternity you have to feel for that and
