I want to express in sincerity to Yidden
Yidden getting together and schmoozing
and enjoying each other is like a big
big big thing.
It's not pushet. It's not I'll tell you
a story. I wasn't thinking of saying
I'll tell you a maiseh that happened.
I first I want to thank
It's cousins the Greenwalds I want to
thank Batsheva for organizing this and
arranging I want to thank you [applause]
for that.
>> [clears throat]
>> I was I was driving
for the year that I was in Avelus I
didn't go any to any Wolfpack games. The
Yeshiva's team I felt not to go.
But I still wanted to be with the
chevra. So I asked I arranged that one
game I would drive the bus the team bus
they have a beautiful bus it's painted
with their logo. It's a big bus for the
team and I arranged I'm going to drive
the bus back to Connecticut.
So I worked the details out I drove my
car somebody took my car back to
Connecticut and I was going to drive
I was going to drive the team bus back
to Connecticut.
We were on the team bus we were having a
wonderful time
and it I hadn't daven maariv
and I was a chiyuv and I whispered to
one guy in the front seat I don't want
to put my stuff on the guys. They had
come back from a tough loss. That is not
a fun trip back.
And I wasn't going to put I wasn't sure
the oilam was dressed in sports gear. I
don't know if they were ready for a
maariv. So I said to the guy next to me
I want to stop I don't remember exactly
if I said I'll daven biyichidus.
I said I'm not going to put it on the
guys. He's like what? And he said guys
and everybody said they want to stop for
a minyan we're making you a minyan.
So okay so what we're going to and
arrest up for a minyan. I knew that
Sidkus that something big would happen.
I know it. The guy's like wanted to stop
for a minute. So, first of all, Maariv
happened. That's a pretty big thing.
Maariv happened. That's a big thing.
Prayer is a big thing.
A bochur told me that a cop pulled him
over
and he said to the cop
he said to Hashem, before the cop came
to his car, he said to Hashem
"If you If you get me off this, I'll
daven Shacharis the next month.
I'll pray the next month, Hashem, if you
let me off."
I told the bochur, "You don't believe in
prayer.
Hashem wants to You don't tell Hashem
I'll pray if Hashem really wants to hear
us.
Say, 'Hashem, I'll pray if'
Imagine if my son said to me
"Tatty, if he calls me for a hundred
Don't tell me I'll be a good boy."
Prayer is Hashem really wants to hear
us. Shomea Tefillah. Say, "Hashem, I'll
pray if." Pray. Say, "Hashem, help me.
There's a cop coming to the car. I need
your help."
That's what they'll You don't have to
say, "I will pray." If you don't believe
in prayer today, so who said the next 50
days of prayer? Really pray. Hashem
wants to hear us.
So, the truth is big things we were
stopping for Maariv, but I knew a holy
situation, a group of sweaty guys are
stopping for some help a a chiyuv's
minyan I knew would be special.
And we stopped for Maariv and we stopped
two jet two two two like 20 two
21-year-old guys come up to us
and they say, "We're hitchhiking from
Manhattan to way up way past Connecticut
to all the way down the 95 that goes to
Florida. We're hitchhiking. Could we
have a ride? Maybe you'll take us." We
told them, "Could you take us 50 60
miles?" Could we hop in your team then?
So, I was very nervous. I You know,
I'm just nervous. If are they Are
they Yidden? One guy said he's a Yid.
Said he's a Yid. I didn't know if it was
true.
So, I said with Davening Maariv, come to
me after prayers. We're having the
evening prayers. I watched the Yid watch
Maariv. He lost his mind. The Yid didn't
know Avraham Avinu was.
He watched Maariv. He was drooling. He
watched the guys Daven. I said, "Come in
the van." These two guys drove 60 miles
in the team van.
By the time they get What are we doing?
We're friends being together. The
holiness in the room in the van was so
crazy. The Yid like Farbrengen There was
nothing There was no
There was nothing like crazy. We didn't
tell him big Shidduch Torah. Yidden like
being together.
He said, "When they came into the van,
the was like the leader and the Yid
was like the second to the goy."
He was like the Mishneh L'Melech. The
was the Melech. When they left, the
was like bowing to his friend,
mamish. Changed it all.
He said, "Your people." The Yid walked
back to the van. After they walked away,
he said, "Never in my life did I feel
more Jewish in my life."
He described, "You changed my life."
From what? From Yidden being together,
Schmoozing together, mamish. From Yidden
Farbrengen, being comfortable, and
encouraging each other. It's a big
thing, Yidden together.
So, the van started 8:15 sharp.
Sharp. I asked Mechila. I asked that
there wasn't allowed for a little more
20 20 half hour more minutes of
Schmoozing, but it's it is late, so we
started. But, I want to express that
Yidden Schmoozing together is a big
thing.
I came here tonight and I had two
things. I came here two topics on my
mind to speak about. And on the way,
something like is is pulling me strong
and I want to ask everybody here a
favor.
I want to talk nothing to do to two
things I prepared. We'll get to those
maybe, could be. But, I want to express
something that has to that that I want
to ask very strongly from Eric.
Let's bring Rosh Chodesh. I don't want
to say bring it back.
It's a funny thing. I sound like maybe
maybe a president make Rosh Chodesh
great again.
I'm not trying to be funny or and it's
funny to say bring Rosh Rosh Chodesh
never left.
I want to express we just came from two
days Rosh Chodesh.
I want to express that it's a big thing
in your own homes. Every single person
here should have a beautiful home, a
husband, children, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and be careful
mommies be careful. Except if you're 15
or 16, a little less be careful.
But it's quick. It should be it should
be homes.
And I want to express that make Rosh
Chodesh a big thing in the home.
Rosh Chodesh soda cook, make a special.
I ask it will also bring shidduchim.
Promise? Say you'll do this. It it will
bring shidduchim partial to Rosh Chodesh
soda snacks. Very nice. Cook nice Rosh
Chodesh. Rosh Chodesh be big and very
freilich, very happy, very nice, a
certain joy, a certain some nice dish,
nice matzah, extra music by by Rosh
Chodesh music.
I brought up my wife the first time to
Reb Rebbetzin Brim, Reb Chaim Brim's
wife.
Reb Chaim Brim and his wife were Yidden
from
from the holiest Yidden in the world.
Remarkable Yidden, Reb Chaim Brim and
his wife. We used to joke they were
shana they were married over 50 years.
They they giggled like shana rishona.
His respect for his wife, Reb Chaim Brim
was a tzaddik who fasted for many years.
Many years. The last many years of his
life he fasted every single day. He ate
not after we we eat after tzeis. He ate
late at night. Yidden would come in to
see him. After the last Yidden stopped
saying he with it." His son felt badly.
He's fasting, his father. Not easy to
fast. So, he went outside and said,
"Yidden, Yidden, my father's fasting."
Reb Chaim Brim got wind of what his son
did. He called his son in. Said, "Are
you chasing Yidden away?" Said, "Yeah.
I want you to eat." He said, "I want you
to know that it gives me more tzar.
I have more pain that Yidden don't get
to unload and speak than than eating
than eating. You're causing me more
tzar. Knock it off." Told the son to
stop. And he would fast till the last
Yid came, mamesh.
And I would go to Reb Chaim Brim. I'd
bring guys. I'd bring people to Reb
Chaim Brim. He held of his wife, the
Rebbetzin. I would bring bachurim. When
I brought bachurim to him to see him,
say one I'm coming for him, obviously.
He answered the door. Say one second,
the Rebbetzin's not ready yet.
I was coming
to him it was like pashut you want to
see the Rebbetzin. The respect for the
Rebbetzin, a friend of mine's wife, a
mentor of mine's wife was in labor.
And he called Reb Chaim Brim. The
doctors were it was it was pikuach
nefesh. The matzav was very bad. Called
Reb Chaim Brim. Say one second, I'm
going to go to the Rebbetzin.
He ran to his Rebbetzin. He came back.
He told this mentor of mine, "Don't
worry. Everything's going to be fine.
And it's a baby boy. Mazel tov." The
kallah had said, "Boy, the Reb the Reb
and the Rebbetzin are amazing amazing
people.
>> [snorts]
>> So, I brought my wife to Rebbetzin Brim.
I wanted her to meet the tzadekes.
And I brought my wife. And the Rebbetzin
said to my wife, of all the things she
could pick, she's We're a newly wed
couple settling in Eretz Yisrael. She
said to my wife, "Make nice Rosh Chodesh
seudah." That's she said to my wife.
"Make a big Rosh Chodesh seudah."
It's a big thing. We're Yidden.
We don't underestimate Rosh Chodesh.
It's a funny thing. You came tonight on
a Wednesday night. We're talking about
Rosh It is two days Rosh Chodesh. we
just
and two days
but
interesting by they were going on three
things.
If we would pick top three things and
you just Shabbos would be up there for
sure. It's
unique. It's our essence. Shabbos is the
year the year the Shabbos. That's our
that's our day. That's
us we're
that's that's the name of us. I'm
it's our name. We're the nation who
sanctify Shabbos. It's our essence.
We're Shabbos people. So that's the guy
would start up with Shabbos. Anybody
here would guess it.
the
our body we are belongs to us we belong
to him this meal for sure.
The Greeks the third thing they started
up with is the dish.
All things
that's my
it's very unique. We have a unique
calendar.
The whole world counts the solar year.
The entire world counts a year that goes
by the sun.
And one people count the lunar year. We
count a different year. We have a
different system.
And we count the year by the moon. And
there's a word of
freshness of coming back. I like in show
they announced the
will be the will be. When is the moon
coming back? We're like a people busy
with the moon's return.
A lot of
a lot of us said them won't make
at the end of the month.
We only make the beginning the moon's
growing a lot of such a minute is thrown
a serious minute is thrown. I'm not
saying it should be make
I should just be in this room tons of
get married
I should be
now
But a lot of Yidden do it at the
beginning of the months.
Cuz the moon's growing, the moon's
growing. They don't do it at the end of
the month. You know the month that's an
exception to that? My I married off a
child and we did it at the end of the
month cuz one month's an exception. Does
anybody know the month that's an
exception?
Av is an exception. Av's different.
Av's the time we just had that all the
tzaros, a mamish Hashem's working with
us. We're so in that zone, the end of
the month is beautiful.
It's a sugia. So even though the the
moon's waning, we just had we just we
yared the difficulties, Hashem's working
with us. Av is an exception. But many
Chassidishe Yidden won't get married the
second half of the month.
What do we're busy with the moon, with
the schadchus.
We're a people that are it's a huge
concept chiddush, renewal, rejuvenation.
We're a people always coming back. We're
never out, we're never we're never off,
we're just coming back. We have mo- we
have lapses, we're human.
We're human beings and it's normal for a
human being to space out and to get
distracted, but then we're back to
Hashem. We're the loyalists ever being
mechadesh, ever renewing, ever
rejuvenating, ever being mechadesh. It's
part and parcel, it's the story of our
people.
You'll never see us down long, we're
coming back.
We make a mistake in the Purim story, we
made a mistake. We make mistakes, we're
human. We're the people of Hashem. Never
count out one of us, never count out all
of us, never count out a Yid. A Yid's
coming back.
There's a beautiful lashon hazahav of
the Rambam. The Rambam says not to be
perish min hatzibbur. Don't separate
from hatzibbur. Be part of a chevra.
Why? Says the Rambam that when the
chevra does teshuvah, when the tzeibur
does chuva, you'll be with them when
they do chuva. He doesn't say if.
I'm saying in Yeshiva, I know if a
bachur is part of Yeshiva. What does
that mean? There's play you off
basketball tonight and the mamish deep
he goes to DBL I'm like shoo. I'll tell
the pa- how's my son doing? He comes to
the basketball games.
I should should I be excited? Minyan the
the shiur I'm telling you he comes to
the basketball games.
And I guarantee he's going to be a
better in Torah.
Cuz klal Yisrael goes to Hashem, that's
just how we work. Klal Yisrael goes to
Hashem.
We we lose focus. The Rambam says don't
be perish with that tzeibur not cuz if
the tzeibur does chuva you'll be with
them. The tzeibur will do chuva, klal
Yisrael will be to Hashem. That's just
what we do. And if you're part of the
tzeibur once the tzeibur does it so will
you cuz the tzeibur is going to do it
and you're just part of the tzeibur.
So I want to express the importance of
Rosh Chodesh but Rosh Chodesh like but
really be a Rosh Chodesh type of person.
I used to catch myself an inner voice if
I would do it if I had oversleep I'd
say, "Daniel." If I was late. Say,
"Daniel, there you go again." I start I
don't say it to myself. I become come
out on time come out an on time person.
And getting there baruch Hashem baruch
Hashem. And I don't say, "Daniel, there
you go again." Why would I say that? As
Daniel you go again I hear an echo in
that voice that you're stuck. Ah, you
again. By the way, to your spouses to
your spouses
I'll tell I'm going to share. It's a
friendly crowd I'll share something I
wouldn't I probably would shouldn't or
wouldn't say it publicly. If my wife was
here I'd ask her if I could. She's not
here so I'm going to say it. Don't tell
on me.
A bachur asked me a question. Guys are
honest. The guy said, "Rebbi, I I
terrible ADHD."
And he said the marking of ADHD is I get
tired of things fast. He said, "How can
marriage work for a guy like me?"
Same. Same. Same. Guy asked.
I I want I want this guy to know
when people live they lock themselves in
same same. My wife's married to a
different guy like I'm married. Like I'm
married. It's a palace she let me become
Hasidic. I'm friends with the
Clintonites. I become Hasidic a Yid. She
didn't marry a Hasid.
I become Hasidic.
I want to express don't box yourself in,
don't box your spouse in. That's part of
Rosh Chodesh.
We grow. You You think like You think we
discovered ourselves? This is who I am?
If you're 94 you think like you found
yourself? We found beautiful things.
Baruch Hashem. You think like you're
done finding madregas?
Don't box in your spouse. People like
it's a terrible aveira. It's the
opposite of Rosh Chodesh. Chodesh is
chiddush. A world of renewal. A world of
finding. A world of bursting forth. New
energy. New madregas. New koachus. New
things. A world of newness. That's the
world of the levana.
Don't ever box yourself in. Even you
know, when I was 18 I I would say things
about certain seforim I didn't like.
Today I like crave those seforim.
And seforim I liked then today I can't
learn right now. Maybe in 10 years
that's all I'll learn. Maybe.
Don't box yourself in.
You're finding [snorts] things. You're
discovering things are important. Don't
box your children in. Ah,
shmerk. You know, I'm I'm watch my
children new things. Certainly it it's
comfortable for us to have patterns.
It's funny I don't know who here likes
the Enneagram. So my family we're like
we're shtickel the key and we like the
Enneagram. We've studied it the
Enneagram and there's what to learn from
self-awareness. The Enneagram's fun, we
could talk about it, maybe. But, the
Enneagram's a blast. You can go through
many a trip. Maybe on the way back from
here, I have a couple of heaven, maybe I
will go over the Enneagram, maybe.
It's It's a so good and and
self-awareness is good to know your tava
is good.
Also, know you didn't like okay some
this. So, now you're a three, too?
You're a two, three? You're a six,
seven? You're You're like a six, seven?
I shouldn't say that.
So, you box then so we say that that's
what you are. That's what you are like
you found yourself and that's what you
are. Is that who?
Leave room people the ones who know the
Enneagram are having a party. People
don't know it. They want to take out
their phones and go look up the
Enneagram.
But, um the Enneagram's wonderful
because we have a nature and it's good
to know. It's good to know our nature.
We have a tava. A person can work with
the tava. But, don't box saying you're
not
Allow and discover. I see in my children
new things, big things. I see in my This
guy looked at it marriage. People aren't
aren't It's not just what you It's an
adventure. Allow for the adventure.
Don't assume you know you know your
spouse. You know the neshama you mamesh
We're going to We can't fathom the
greatness of you There's not funny
stuff.
The neshama the largeness of a person
you've like you've gotten your whole
neshama. Please, we touch, we find
different experience. Bring out, allow
for newness. It's all part of Rosh
Chodesh as Chodesh.
See things new, fresh, another time.
Totally up cared like let allow
it to be new.
I ask I personally asking everybody here
if we could be mechazek. The nashim's
have a specific connection to Rosh
Chodesh.
Kiyadu'a the nashim there's there's
minhag and there's a lot of Torah. It's
not what I'm prepared or want to speak
about tonight, but I'm asking
specifically there's there's minhag
Yisrael that's specifically connect the
nashim tzidkaniyos to Rosh Chodesh. And
I want to ask everybody here.
I can't say when I was young I knew what
Rosh Chodesh was. Today it's becoming
more and more important to me.
When I was younger my brother had a
brother who was a masmid. He wasn't the
type to eat out much. Now it's Yisrael
he didn't go. I would ask him there was
a falafel store on the block of the Mir
Rosh Chodesh me and Dovid Shimon would
eat out together. Now I can't say I
understood Rosh Chodesh then, but my
neshama understood it. Rosh Chodesh we
ate out together. Rosh Today it would be
I wouldn't settle the the falafel store
on the block of the Mir.
I would grab my brother we'd go to
somewhere fancier today. But okay, I
didn't I wasn't as connected to Rosh
Chodesh then as I am today. Rosh Chodesh
is a big thing. Make a big deal. Before
if we do this it's it's the schutz zed
of the quicker. They'll be they'll be
partial quicker shidduchim. Go with the
group of friends and and and eat
something nice for Rosh Chodesh. Make a
nice party with cover Rosh Chodesh. I'll
tell you something interesting in
yeshiva. An interesting thing. We're a
shtickel reluctant to make a big party
Rosh Chodesh other.
Shtickel reluctant. I don't want the
guys to drink. I don't want to get in
trouble.
So I was thinking I but I needed a Rosh
Chodesh thing. So I made one today in
the morning. Rosh Chodesh gathering. Now
I knew in the morning is not the same
lebedik. People don't dance the same in
the morning.
But I made a big Rosh Chodesh thing and
I didn't think the guys would go crazy
and I did it if five people were there
together. We're having Rosh Chodesh. It
was a big it was a big aliya. I felt it
was a big aliya to get together Rosh
Chodesh.
So I'm asking everybody here to make a
chizuk we start with it even started.
Should we start that you have a maybe we
should start we should start talking,
but I'm asking firstly, I think it was
called as a this year it's after
but I'm asking that we all start being
this year in its full sense.
So, it means both making a soda like
being
everyone not just other everyone get
together with a group of friends just
encourage each other to tell a bunch of
jokes tell good jokes together sit
together and together so it's like this.
But specifically to be
people people who believe in and not
back stay not locked not stuck not
a new fresh a new
a new new
girl.
I was like as a youngster to see Miller
in his old age and I saw somebody fresh
and young.
So, I saw somebody and it's a mark of
great people or you know from the same
but still like so fresh in old age. My
father was a young man he was the
youngest man in the room in his old age
he was so young so young he took his
skiing and it was just so young this
youngness of his
he was a
he could take on a new
a new thing a new we were always shocked
to see new new parts to his game.
New things that he [snorts] added always
adding newness not saying this is me
that's the way I am don't don't settle.
Now, we like the step stableness of
knowing people it makes it safe for us.
And they're very afraid of dogs cuz like
they're so unpredictable. What's going
to happen the thing like jumps I don't
understand the dog.
So, a human being like gives us a safety
and okay there there are four or five
like I get what like I can predict that
a what they're going to be so I hear the
safety and the stability.
And there is a teva us but don't be
limited. Don't don't box yourself so
don't box yourself in like that. Don't
box your spouse in. Don't box people
around. A lot I mean trying new things.
Try a new thing. Try a new thing.
Literally, try a new thing. Don't say
that's not my type. My wife and I went
to Eretz Yisrael like yesterday. We go
somewhere. She was like, "You you that's
not your type."
That wasn't till now.
Let's try. Let's see. Let's explore.
Don't be afraid to try.
To one it might mean a new safer. To one
it might mean a new shear, a new friend,
a new experience, a new I don't know a
lot of new things. Don't be afraid.
We're Rosh Chodesh people. And the Yid
is constantly rejuvenating. We're we're
never just we're never stuck. We're
never out. We're never schlepped out.
We're not like that.
The Zohar there's a Zohar I heard from
the Rebbe. He said that Haman said,
"Yeshnaya mecha day yesheynim. They're
sleeping."
They're like out. The Yid is like fallen
asleep. Yeshnaya mecha day yesheynim.
They're sleeping.
And Haman made the mistake of thinking
these people are out. They're done.
Never ever ever say that on a Yid.
Never. It's silly. I remember one bochur
in yeshiva had become like a giant. And
an old Rebbe said, "Him?"
I was very upset by that him.
Never ever count out a Yid. Not me, not
you, not ourselves. Never. No age. No
age. Never. I was zoche as a youngster.
There was an old Yid in the yeshiva I
grew up in and he came from Russia. He
couldn't read. I was zoche to learn
Gemara with him. He started learning
Gemara. Never count a Yid. This is him.
He's not a reader. Maybe he'll become
the lamden. Maybe he'll Never count out.
Not ourselves, not others. Never box us
in Rosh Chodesh Yid.
So that's that's the appeal. But let's
learn together. You came here to learn.
That's my appeal. What I want to
we'll go quicker on the learning cuz
it's late already. I want to study, I
feel bad people standing, I feel bad.
Okay, we'll show you chairs.
Uh,
thank you, perfect. I'm happy you got
this. Perfect, perfect, perfect. That
much better, perfect, perfect. Perfect
then more here.
>> [laughter]
>> Perfect.
>> [snorts]
>> Uh, this also one new.
>> [snorts]
>> I want to discuss I want to discuss two
topics tonight. I want to learn two
topics.
The first thing I want to learn
and we'll connect it Hashem to Purim to
Adar to Rosh Chodesh Adar.
When Moshe
Moshe Rabbeinu, when Aaron Hakohen, when
Nadav and Avihu and the 70 Kohanim saw
Hashem,
they see Hashem during Kabbalat Torah
and they saw the following scene.
They saw Hashem that
Raglav under his feet was a sapphire
brick.
There was a sapphire brick under
Hashem's feet.
Now, [clears throat]
to explain this, they saw Hashem, the
sapphire brick was in front of Hashem
the Shebud of Mitzrayim.
Now, this might have some people here
waking up screaming
because I'll explain it's a very strange
experience. They saw Hashem not the way
he was during Kabbalat Torah.
They saw Hashem that during Shebud
Mitzrayim he had a sapphire brick in
front of him.
Now, how could they see the past?
So, that gets very dizzying. Nobody wake
up screaming tonight. I just like this.
There's no time in heaven.
>> [laughter]
>> So, I have but I was like a lot of fun
for me. But in Shamayim time is a very
human type of thing, time. Time [snorts]
is is in our realm, time.
We have time. We have this thing called
time. But when you see Hashem, what was
is eternal, what is is eternal, what
will be is eternal. So, you could see
Hashem and you could see how he was cuz
what was is. So, they saw Hashem b'shaas
Kabbalas haTorah. And under Hashem's
feet is a sapphire brick b'shaas Shebud
Mitzrayim.
It's very tricky to like contemplate
that. But when you see Hashem, you could
see what was, is, and will be.
Everything's eternal. Time is very
human. You're seeing out of the world of
time. So, they saw Hashem. I Time is
wonderful. My father was My father
was a zatzal was a very timely person.
It's hard to He was never a minute late
to anything. I am working. I'm get I'm
working hard to be more timely. What I
refuse to accept is end times. I can't
go to a minyan that ends at a certain
time. That doesn't work for me. Just
doesn't work for me.
Start on time. Be on time. When it ends,
maybe we want to do more mishaberachs
today. Maybe there's more hugs to give
in shul. I don't know how you could have
an end time. Be present. I have asked my
children
we have shaleshudes at home. I love
shaleshudes. That point of Shabbos I beg
my kids. I have to run to the shul for
Maariv at 7:00 minutes. I'm the rav, so
it's my it's my obligation. I have to go
I ask my children, I beg you in your own
homes. Shaleshudes finishes when you're
done. If it's 4:00 in the morning, don't
rush Shabbos, please. Then you check it
and hope there's a minyan to save you.
You'll make him and you'll find a
minyan. You'll You'll be the minyan.
Don't rush Shabbos. And don't end get
into Rosh Hashanah and Yeshiva. There's
beginning time, there's no end time. You
do it and I'm not into long. It's not
about long. Do something. Be in
something. Be present. What What do you
mean you're ending here? We came
tonight. Don't get now people are
getting nervous. You leave when you have
to leave. But we came to learn. Then
then then we're learning. At what time
is it? We're learning. Now it could If
it's long, run, please run. You have a
babysitter, you have you have a shidduch
arranged, whatever it is, run.
But But um But But be in something.
Anyway, that's just my rant that in
Shamayim there's no time. I just like
that. But um
So when when Moshe Rabbeinu, when Aharon
HaCohen, when Nadav and Avihu, when the
70 kings saw Hashem B'shaas Kabbalas
HaTorah, they saw that during Shibud
Mitzrayim, Hashem had a sapphire brick
under his feet. Explains Rashi, explains
Chazal, that Hashem feels our pain. He
feels our things. He mamash feels us.
My question to everybody here, that's
that's true. That's amazing. That we
should We have to think about that fact.
We go through things. Hashem mamash is
with us. Mamash.
We think it's so new Our situations are
nuanced. Nobody understands. Each of us
is unique. Is is a very nuanced
situation. Hashem's with us. Mamash.
That's an important fact. And Hashem
this the the the sapphire brick is
saying you were busy with L'vanim. You
were working and making bricks. I mamash
was with you. And they saw that. Why
they see that B'shaas Kabbalas HaTorah?
Why B'shaas Kabbalas HaTorah?
Why when we were receiving the Torah
when we said Na'aseh V'Nishma, is that
what they saw? Now I do want to express
for honesty that one of the
one of the 48
was
able to
feel somebody's pain. I saw one of the
say that it's the main
It's the main of the all 48
the main
Torah
And
that's why
was
felt our pain
you need that for
very nice.
I don't get it.
Why the one out of the 48? Why is that
what they saw?
We're supposed to be so Hashem does it
also? What's happening?
Why did we see
feels our pain?
I need to share something with with with
everybody. I need to share this.
I need to share this.
My children and the guys in the
and the girls here today's generation
changed my life completely. It's
changing my life.
I was a stranger to my inside.
We weren't bad the last
class for sure. We don't say
people were rooted in action. And I was
trained if I was insulted just go right
there
smile. I was very positive positive be
positive. Today I'm not being anything.
If I'm insulted I'm insulted. I'm being
where I am. I like being insulted. I'm
much more sensitive ever admitted. I
have it's wild. It's crazy stuff. So
cool.
I have the younger version of me.
My from kite was not to be insulted. So
I would shut down pieces of myself and I
would show up with only little parts of
me to the ones I loved and I would shut
today if I'm insulted I'm insulted. I go
on a walk. I talk over my best friend. I
talk to my wife. We go on a walk. I tell
her I was insulted by something. Talk it
out.
Don't shut things down. Today's door is
remarkably premium stick. We're talking
predicted it. He said even though
there's you read the
the wave is going to grow. It's all the
rights that the wave is going to get
bigger. Anybody watching today's door
with honesty people feel remarkable
remarkable. A one of my closest friends
in the world said to me complaining
about their kid. What's all these
feelings? You just GOT TO GET THIS like
what's
I said to my friend you and I for 50
years ignored our thoughts. Your child
feels it's beautiful. It's like
wonderful. They feel the
their present tremendous.
I want to express it has changed my life
in learning.
I want to say to everybody here when you
learn tire.
Picture that 11th grader like learning
shark and he he comes to share is like a
world on his mind.
He has like worlds on his mind that is
okay. The Raj was he's like does that
know me?
You're talking to me like do you even
know what a was crying to me two days
ago.
He's telling what his father was telling
was crying. He's
telling you demands of his father. He
said do you even know what's going on in
my life?
You're so distant to everything I'm
experienced. You're like talking to me.
Like what's
He was crying. It's painful. He loves
his father. His father loves him. We're
not on the same page. I want to go on a
walk that I want to tell you what I'm
thinking about. I want to tell you my
struggles. I want to tell you what's
going on in my life. I have a lot of
there's like a world inside.
How many people feel with the tire this
week?
I think it's huge and it must be said.
We
saw that the pain we were coming from
that was in front of Hashem and he's
talking to us.
One can expect when you learn tire
Hashem's talking to my unique situation.
Learn from your situation and you'll see
the term will momish talk to your
situation.
When I was a youngster, I'd come into
sheer and my rebbe my rebbe would say
over that Sally say over things. I
thought he read my mind. He would say
over things like rebbe it's like this
crazy like how did he know what happened
to me last night?
It was crazy.
I only learned later that when you learn
tire you can expect that's what we learn
in our tires Hashem talks to our
situation. Can I ask you a question?
Did some people here go to shul this
Pesach Shabbos?
It's not a personal question. I didn't A
lady can't go wrong. A lady can't go
wrong. If you didn't go to shul last
Pesach and Pesach You went while you're
davening. There's no wrong answer, trust
me. It wasn't Some people went to shul.
Can I go on a wild guess that every rav
spoke from parshas mishpatim in a
shtikel Torah?
Why did he do that?
Maybe this week like all a lot of us
were thinking about Iran. They're
threatening Eretz Yisrael. It's crazy.
It's Purim time. Crazy.
And and Hashem will poshet utzu eitza
v'sufar davar davar l'yakum ki imano Kel
Ribono shel olam is listening.
But it's it's it's crazy.
Maybe maybe parshas Vayeilech has a
better message this Shabbos. The
rabbonim being killed. It's like they
teach you in rabbi school. Okay, let's
say this Yeah, you go to a simcha this
week. Why say from mishpatim? Maybe
there's Maybe the kallah more resembles
somebody from parshas Chayei Sarah. I
don't know.
Make it taste like see you're shtuping
some Torah this week. Why do we do that,
Klauser? We're a deep people. What is
that?
What is that?
Why do we say over time everybody at the
Sheva Brachot has to speak from this
week's parsha? So limiting.
Get a little broader. I remember my wife
and I went
Oh, goodness. We went there was a family
simcha and they their minyan was
everybody speaks men and women and there
was part of the family didn't really
know so much Torah. I remember what a
lady speaking and describing the
chosson's mamish koach. He's so unique
and he's not afraid. The gave a whole
drasha of the chosson's koach. I wish it
came out a different week. Like it would
he he didn't have to go to the parsha.
Maybe go to a different parsha.
What's min hag Yisrael that we speak
from that parsha? We're a deep people.
Study our customs. We're we're wild.
Every minyan in Klal Yisrael was deep.
Sometimes it's it's deeper than the
halacha. Minyan Yisrael kodesh.
Cuz it comes it's it's our minhag of
Klal Yisrael, the holy nation.
You know why we speak? If all of Klal
Yisrael reads Mishpatim, we expect that
if I have a simcha that week, I look at
the parsha and it talks me about this
simcha. You can expect that. If you're
learning privately, it's this week. Klal
Yisrael?
Klal Yisrael's learning something, of
course Hashem's talking to your
situation.
Daf Yomi, and how many stories in Daf
Yomi? My father learned Daf Yomi a lot.
Learned Daf Yomi, he said two years a
day. He learned Daf Yomi for close to 50
years.
The first gemara my father would talk
and learn in his sleep.
My mother, when they first got married,
my father taught her gemara in the
middle of the night. He said over
gemara. So in the morning, my mother
said don't don't expect your husbands.
That's not a normal thing. I
I've talked matters in my sleep. It's
never happened to me. So don't nobody
should judge anybody. This was he was
very dovuk in Torah. So he would talk
Torah in his
So,
at the end it was I was sitting next to
him by chemo and I was sitting next to
my father for hours. And there was a
year to beautiful year next he said he
and my father was saying different Torah
except he was sleeping. The Yid said,
"Isn't he sleeping?"
I said, "Yeah, he learns. I don't know
what to tell you." Yeah, like isn't he
said he's sleeping but he's saying the
Torah. The bottom line is is that he
taught my mother Gemara. In the morning
my mother asked him about that Gemara.
She asked him she said, "How do you know
that Gemara?" So, she said, "You taught
it to me." She said, "I hadn't learned
it for 2 years." At that point it was
just married he wasn't learning daf. 2
years before he doesn't know why. In
Shamayim that was the mesechta that
night the neshama learned. She taught.
So, my mother always remembered that
Gemara. She knows the Gemara out of Yuma
Zera this is the first Gemara her
husband taught her it's quite memorable.
She remembered the Gemara. On the day of
my father's petirah for Yidden learn daf
yomi 50 years that was the day's daf.
And my mother took a message from that
Gemara that's carrying her mamesh.
Mamesh talked to her. The Gemara says
that if the husband gives his wife all
the chasam that he owns she doesn't get
everything. The husband gave her
everything she doesn't get it's mil sub
time. She's just an happy trapper. She's
charged to take care of it it's not
hers.
My mother has run my father's coil and
other things she took this as a charge.
Run the things that he gave you that he
left you. She's taken it as a message.
One can expect if all Yisrael thousands
of Yidden learning daf yomi it's talking
to us that day. And there endless
stories of Yidden who see in the daf
yomi.
Everybody if all one Yid learns you can
expect this. If you learn by your rebbe
it's pasha like this. I have had crazy
stories.
A guy came not talking about me is if
anybody if if a guy if a guy asked a
4-year-old to be his rebbe you can
expect this. A guy drove up to whatever
I need to speak to. A guy came my
mission emergency, except I didn't know
he was coming and I had a runny after
the shear. Of course, I was late to
something and I literally had a rabbin
waiting that after the shear I had to
leave. And the guy drove up 2 hours to
speak.
I see him during the shear. I'm like,
"Oh, no. I hope he didn't come to speak.
Oh, I don't know why he came." After the
shear, he came up. He said, "Rebbi, I
don't need to talk. You spoke, like you
just said, what I needed to hear. Thank
you. Kol tuv." And I drove and he drove.
It's pashut. It's pashut. It's nothing
to do with doesn't matter. You If you
learn by your bumbling fool, it doesn't
matter.
Somebody learns Torah, you could expect.
That's what Hashem talks to us in Torah.
He talks to our story. Learn like that.
Understand you read the parashah.
You read and read the parashah. Read the
parashah. Read the parashah. Try to read
the parashah. If you read a few pesukim
in the parashah, you can expect that
Hashem is talking to you, to your unique
situation. You'll see it. You'll mamash
see it. Study coming from your sugias.
When Moshe Yeshua, these kehunim, Nadav
and Avihu saw Hashem, we were coming to
Kabbalas HaTorah from Shibud Mitzrayim.
That was lifnei Hashem. And the message
is when I talk to you, I'm talking from
your story. There's a line from the Baal
Shem Tov.
The Baal Shem Tov says this about the
Megillas Esther. The Mishnah says,
"Akore es Megillah mafreia lo yatza."
Literally, it means if you read the
Megillah backwards, you're not yatza.
The Baal Shem said a pshat that's one of
the holiest pshatim I've ever heard. He
wasn't trying to be cute. The rebbe's
don't call it chassidish. They would
tzaddikim learning Torah.
And And the Baal Shem said on that
Mishnah, "Akore es Megillah mafreia lo
yatza." It means if If read the Megillah
that it was yesterday, you're not
yoitze. It's talking to me, to you, but
mamish. Read the Megillah, hear the
Megillah, understand it's mamish your
story. It's talking to you today. If you
read it with my frey of as if it's a
past news, backwards from yesterday lo
yotzei, you're not yoitze.
The hashgacha Hashem that the Torah
Hashem divrei chaim v'kayamim, Hashem's
words are ever present, ever ever
relevant, ever speaking to us. Learn
Torah present, you will hear, you'll
hear things, you'll be a you'll mamish
hear Hashem talking specific to your
situation.
I don't know it's not just uncanny, it's
just true. It's just true.
I was flying to Chicago. I was flying to
Chicago and I was I don't I put in my
grandson whenever I can, that's just
what I do. And I was I was getting to
see I was going there and I was getting
to see my grandson for the first time
since the bris. I was going my son was
coming from Eretz Yisrael, I was coming
from Connecticut and I was going to get
to see my son and my grandson. Should
put my son in there, that would be
important. But I was getting to see my
son and my grandson. And obviously my
mind's my grandson, I was mad b'seder.
I'm reading the parsha going to see my
grandson and I watched that Yakov Avinu
mamish in the parsha says about his
grandson that the grandson's like a son
to me. It's not a grandson, it's a son.
That perked What's What's it saying? I
mamish spent a lot of the plane ride
thinking about it, studying, what's it
saying? It's a grandson, it's not a son
and he said he said that my
grandchildren, Ephraim Menashe, will be
like a son to me. It's a child, it's not
a grandchild. What is that?
Learn with your with your unique
situation, with your complicated
situation. Understand that's how Torah
works.
When Moshe and Aaron saw Hashem b'shaas
kabbalas haTorah and we were coming from
Shiva. You would think like you're
learning Tyro does the Rebbe Hashem
knows us.
He's talking to us our unique situation.
Understand that South Tyro works.
And pay attention when you learn to a
generation that's so plenius, that's so
open to the situation. Open up to the
Tyro. Let the Tyro pour in new places.
Let it speak to new places. There was
far and I didn't learn younger because I
ignored those parts to miss. I didn't
hear Hashem. Hashem was talking to me.
When I've opened up being more sensitive
than the Tyro is talking about that.
Talking about that.
Come with your story to Tyro. Learn like
that. Rebbe of Shesh would demand this
of his time with them. Somebody cannot
call a Tyro cool. He said, "What did
Hashem say to you?"
People study. They hear them from cuts.
He said such a sharp thing. The Rebbe is
not saying sharp things. Wasn't trying
to like say a good word that somebody
could say and sharp. Like a sharp word.
You could say over your friend. You
could say it over your friend. That's a
good thing. But he wasn't trying to be
like that. He actually was like
absorbing Tyro and bringing his story to
Tyro. Rebbe was fire about this.
Bringing your story. So I wanted to
express this. We're coming to a hug.
It's it's the month of Adam which is a
month of Hashem seeing the hand of
Hashem. Maybe the biggest place to see
it is in the Tyro and when he talks to
us. Hear the Tyro. See what he's saying.
Read the passion. [clears throat] Read a
few and he'll manage talk to your story.
When we say over at a
we quote
because we assume I'm making a this
week. Oh let me look at
all of
us reading this Tyro. If we be learning
it ourselves you can read it like that.
All of
us reading. Let's find out what Hashem
is saying about this
you look up and this person
[clears throat] noticed about the class
this the class this. That's what class
Israel's doing in shul. Everybody speaks
about Mishpatim this past week. We all
read Mishpatim. Let's see what Hashem is
saying. Right now, we're just being very
present. We're really paying attention.
We're hearing the dvar Hashem. Bring
your story to tell your unique story and
listen well. Listen well. Hear the
psukim. Hear what Hashem is saying. Hear
what Hashem is saying to our unique
situations.
So, that's the hashgacha. Purim is a
time to begin with of kimu vekiblu of a
kabalas haTorah, again accepting Torah.
It's the time Adar is a time of
tremendous hashgachas Hashem. Seeing the
yad Hashem in everything. See the
hashgacha in the Torah that we learn.
Open a sefer, see what it says. See what
Read a few psukim. Read Find time to
read five psukim in the parsha. Sit
down, open up and read a few psukim. You
will read your story. You'll hear what
Hashem mamesh is saying to you mamesh.
That's what one can expect when they
learn Torah.
I wanted to end with one last very very
quick.
I want to express that Haman Haman said
about our people, he said "Am echad
mefuzar umefurad bein ha'amim." That
there's no unity amongst the people.
Haman comes from Amalek. Amalek's all
about disunity. The Gra says in Even
Shleimah that the she'ish of Amalek is
disunity.
Amalek does not want a people Am
Yisrael, a unified people that are
wonderful neshamos that are about
serving Hashem. And Amalek's about
division of our people. One of my
favorite mitzvahs in the world, nashim
have dominated this mitzvah cuz they're
so smart. And this like mamesh is the
mitzvah. They're always busy bringing
the geulah.
And shalach manos, what I said study our
people the way Yidden do shalach manos.
It's the It's from the best parts of
Purim.
As a rav, so there's some push sit at
home all day and people come. You sit
there. You sit at the table and people
will come all day and sit there and
receive people. I don't do that. I don't
do that. I'm not home. Where is he? He's
not home. Shucks, he's supposed to sit
there. It's party a job. If I get fired
for this, I've good friends, maybe I
won't believe it, but it's not It's not
happening. I'm I can't I want to go with
my wife, with my children. I want to
deliver shalach manos. I love that
Yidden are running around. We're running
to each other. We're bringing the
streets are wild. We're We're so cool.
We get it. That's the defeat of Amalek.
Esther Amalekus, specifically Esther
says lech kenos kol Yidden, gather
Yidden together, tizzamen. One people,
united, united to watch Yidden bring
gifts to each other, running around. And
we don't You can give two manas with
machmir.
My wife [snorts] the the themes, it's
wonderful. Already thinking.
Never don't be busy criticizing Yidden,
you're missing it. Our people don't get
it wrong. Don't criticize Yidden. Don't
go there. Study our people. People are
making themes in the shalach manos.
We're like We go into this one. We're
brilliant. We should We should do even
more.
But we go This is a mitzvah we nail.
Shalach manos, we get it. We mamish get
it. Amalek's all about It's from the
ikur of the day itself. Amalek's about
the disunity of our people.
They They want to separate us and divide
us.
And And Haman attacks in that space
of Refidim, of Rifian. The separation is
Rifian.
And what defeats Amalek, lech kenos kol
Yidden, gather everybody. Everybody
tizzamen. Everybody together. Everybody
unified. Everybody there. It's
interesting. I was part of a Shabbos
this past week. I spoke about the people
schmoozing at the beginning.
We made a Shabbos of alumni. A lot of
married alumni came together.
And we had a beautiful Shabbos together
with the alumni. So, the caterer came up
to me.
He said, "I've been at some of these
Shabboses. There are Q&A's and panels
and the next panel." And he said, "You
guys just look like you like each
other."
No Q&A. I was supposed to speak after
the kiddush. People like schmoozing
together. The woman was schmoozing
enjoying the men. I delayed it an hour.
We waited an hour. Though, what speech
are you going to say better than that?
So, I want to I want to express this
mitzvah of shalach manos of seeing other
Yidden.
I want to say that even in ourselves and
this will help how we see other Yidden.
It will help for ourselves. I want to
say something.
Mishpatim, there's a vav that changes
the whole Torah.
Yisro had Kabbalas haTorah in it.
And
and Yisro ends with the Mikdash, with
the Mizbe'ach, which is the culmination
of Kabbalas haTorah. The Mizbe'ach is
the Beis haMikdash. Hashem lives amongst
us. Mamash is with us. The whole
Yetzi'as Mitzrayim to Kabbalas haTorah
and it culminates with the Mizbe'ach.
The Mizbe'ach's we can give gifts to
Hashem. The Mizbe'ach's
it's like not from this world. A human
being can give a gift to Hashem and
Hashem wants it. It's l'rei'ach
nicho'ach. Hashem wants it. Everything
about Amalek says you can't connect
Hashem. You're a people of Hashem,
please. And we have a Mizbe'ach that a
Yid can mamash give a gift and Hashem
wants it. I'm telling you he wants it.
He wants my prayer. He wants my Torah.
He wants my chesed. He wants my avodah.
The Mizbe'ach.
After Yisro, there starts Mishpatim and
there's a vav.
The vav Rashi Chazal say is mosif, the
verb Hebrew is a connector and the verb
is mosif al ha inyan. And it says just
like the first things are misinai,
mishpatim is misinai also.
Now we know Hashem taught us mishpatim,
we know that.
But there's somewhat gush of this is
misinai also mishpatim. That verb
doesn't say v'eila mishpatim. There's
also I want to explain that. There's
also a din Sanhedrin judges money
matters. Where should Sanhedrin sit?
If I was putting Sanhedrin, I would find
where the cameras take place in Eretz
Yisrael, I'd put them right next to
Machaneh Yehudah. Two Yidden are
fighting over a pickle. He bought a
pickle, you didn't give me change, not
enough change. Then run to Sanhedrin.
Why is the Sanhedrin in the mizbei- next
to the base- in the Beit Hamikdash? We
learn that end of Yisrael is the
mizbeiach, mishpatim is Sanhedrin is
money. That Sanhedrin should sit in the
Beit Hamikdash. Why?
There's money.
I want to express there is no dvar chol
in our people, no such thing.
No such thing, doesn't exist. I want to
say this about the campus in yeshiva. By
me, I treat the gym as if somebody would
like mistreat the gym like it's kodesh.
There's no activity yeshiva. The sports,
the running basketball is kodesh and I
speak it's poshut by me. The workout gym
is kodesh kodashim. People are working,
having enjoying friendship, growing,
feeling good about themselves, healthier
avdei Hashem. There's no chol when it
comes to yeshiva. It's the same with our
people, there's no chol.
There's no such thing as chol. We're
going to have a day, it's complicated
today. And and maybe people can't fight
today. I'm not getting involved in any
politics. There's going to be a day
we're going to have an army, it's all
like somebody goes down becomes frum or
is fighting for klal Yisrael. It's no
chol in our people. There no activities
that are
vile.
The vibe my regime in machine I ask
machine I
Somebody shops for a family? Kadesh
Kadoshim. A man works to support his
family. I say there's no oil amongst the
year. There's no such thing. My regime
in machine I ask machine I It's all
connected to Sinai. Our people needs a
lot. We need doctors, lawyers, this we
have a lot of needs. There's no
oil in our people. There's no such
thing. We're Yidden. We're Yidden to the
core of our being and every aspect of
Jewish life is Kadosh. Every. My regime
in machine I ask machine I The Sanhedrin
that judges the name of is in the base
of Megiddo that holy space. It's like I
go to Hashem and then okay, now I'm like
involved in oil. Are you kidding me?
That's not how Jewish life works.
Everything is Kadosh. Everything
connects. Everything's involved.
We don't have secular When somebody's a
secular Jew, that's like crazy. You ever
heard of a weekday Shabbos?
Shabbos is Shabbos. Guys, there's no
There's no There's a Yid in every aspect
of Jewish life. Every. Every.
There's no such thing as that which is
not connected to Sinai. No such thing.
A person works. Person goes to work with
a certain responsibility. I've been a
Yid.
And behaves in a certain way. It's very
dangerous if you erase one letter in the
Torah, you pass the whole Torah.
And how many people forget that?
So if there's something that's not
connected to Sinai, it's not that way.
I want to say this in respecting This
helps in respecting the entirety of our
people. We're not a people that has
extras. I don't care if the guy in a
miniature way on a campus by me. By me
the custodian, the nurse, the everybody
there, oh, it's holy, it's kodesh, cuz
part of a yeshiva. In our people,
there's nothing that's not kodesh
kodashim, nothing.
Understand it. Don't in our own lives,
don't relegate something that that's
secular, chas v'shalom. Specifically,
the nashim that are tasked specifically
to be involved in the base revolve with
the scribes. I'm going to be honest, I
don't have such a flair. Clothing's hard
for me and tastes and like house things
is not my strength. I'm thankful my kids
are better. My wife is supreme. The
exact the the the shades, what shades,
what matches, great, like really
impressive.
I used to You could say this true shifi.
I used to not notice things. I'm
embarrassed, wrong, and the revolve
writes against this.
Today, I like walk around my house to
see things kodesh. I'm watching kodesh.
An ish is designing a home with a shchin
rest. There's no aspect that's not
kodesh.
So, the designs of a home, each thing is
precious and important, and I've gotten
so into it. It's so chashuv. It's so
beautiful and important. It's kodesh
kodashim. Kodesh. I love the shabbos
table should be fancy and set up exact.
The right plates, matching. The forks
have to be on the right The Get them on
the right side The left side The right
side they're supposed to be on. It
should be set up beautifully with exact
with cuz things matter.
That vov has to be there. We don't have
areas. This will help us appreciate
Yidden. We're an army of people. We're
needed. There's a robust Jewish life. We
have no extras. From the mailman to the
dentist to the doctor to the lawyer to
the to anything to the accountant, it's
all kodesh, part of Jewish life.
Vov maisef marishanim misina, they're
dealing with DNA ominous. They're
dealing with the practical sides with
the that's holy in our people. That's
meshumai, that and there's a kiddush
Hashem may him to the behavior of people
as they're they're demonstrating godly
people creating a whole society. It's
all part.
And we need a you we need a people that
respects and appreciates. We have many,
many needs in our people. There's no
parts within our own existence. Don't
push away a part. There's an internal
shalom, an internal peace of not
relegating certain things that okay, I
have my spiritual thing.
It's not the guy goes to his daf in the
morning or his shiur in the morning or
his kollel and then he goes home and now
he's There's no kollel part [snorts] of
such an existence of an eved Hashem, of
the Yid, of the am kadshei shvi. It's
all part. It's a world of kodesh.
And in terms of our people, we have
needs. We have a beautiful nation. Don't
push away, don't discount, don't lech
k'an ice kol Yidden. Each one's kodesh.
Each one's part. Each one's necessary
from their own station, from their own
community, from their own story, they're
important. Gather Yidden. The mitzvah of
the mitzvah of shalach manos is
wonderful that Yidden are just busy
being mechabed each other. It's like the
ikar fight over Amalek who looks to
divide us, who looks to negate, who
looks to knock, who looks to say we have
extras. Amalek attacks hanichshalim
acharecha, the stragglers. These are
extras, you don't need these.
We're busy giving shalach manos. We're
just pulling everybody's in. We don't
have extras. Everybody's in.
So, let's be mechazek the mitzvah that
nashim brilliantly have grabbed on to
shalach manos and joy. Enjoy, bring the
chanas bigger than the mitzvah's the
achana for the mitzvah the people are
preparing and making themes wonderful.
Watch our people somebody criticizes you
can miss the whole story. We're people
who get it. Why are we putting so much
into this one cuz we get it. We want to
be mechabed each other. We want to just
be giving. Watch the first part of Purim
is like glorious the streets. We are all
running to give each other gifts.
Running to each other back with people
are leaving. People leave bags by the
door. You're by him he's by me. I love
you we miss each other. We're all just
running to each other. I want to get to
you you want to get to me. We both miss
each other. I want people want me to sit
home some of the people in the
community. I want them to come he's not
here. Where is he? He's bringing
rugelach to somebody to my son's friends
were bringing lollies really good ones.
That's where he is. He's running and
it's kid needs to bring lollies. We need
to bring lollies to Israel Meier's
friend.
>> [laughter]
>> And we need to bring stuff to Rena's
friends. We're bringing stuff to Yidden.
We're just all busy running to each
other.
It's such a glorious part of Purim.
Even the night of Purim people get
nervous there's noise in shul there's
old minag Yisrael everybody comes to the
megillah.
Then it creates a problem. Uh-oh there's
noise in shul. Okay so we have to all
work together that we we need to be out
to the megillah but it's not an
accident. Watch our people and study
you'll see everybody comes men women and
children. We don't leave anybody out.
That's what we're saying Tamudic.
There's a p'shat to it. There's a
p'shat. I've worked with the baal koreh
this he has to be patient and calm. They
go a little over time for the hamans. I
hear I hear. My son already has his a
very loud one this year. I heard it
early this morning and it wakes people
up. It's going to be a good thing by
haman. So
gishmak but study our people. What's
everybody doing even little kids come.
Because there's no extras and that's
what we're we're saying something our
people. So instead of you some people
get fresh, you're not allowed to put
them night. Tell everybody everybody's
here.
We're not listening to Haman. Haman said
it's exactly if you follow all the
enemies. Paro also said only some of you
will go out to serve Hashem. We say no,
but no rain was coming and we know
everybody's coming.
To the Megillah, if you study our
people, what's with us? We need quiet by
the Megillah. Nobody thought of it.
They're bringing the little kids.
Everybody's coming. We're saying
something. We're saying something. We're
saying nobody's neglected. That's what
we're saying.
I had tremendous nachas in the Yeshiva
like a basic of the Yeshiva. It like
it's in the walls of the Yeshiva. It's a
bastion of honor. People are honored. I
was sitting shiva myself with one of the
rebbe and he was holding his little
baby. And the cat cat was holding his
baby. And a bachur came and he said,
"Rebbe, good morning." Said, "Reb Cat,
good morning." Then he went to the baby
and like tickled the baby. I was so
moved. He's a person too and it's in the
walls. Nobody We don't have people that
are ignored that are run over. It's not
It doesn't exist by our people. So, I
say to us all can I call us gather all
the
Let's reach. Let's make a call to the
maybe that girl who was forgotten. To
that one others let's bring the shalach
manos to everybody. Don't if you just
give to the forgotten one, that will be
a bit people will feel badly getting
shalach manos. Give everybody. But
everybody let's let's You see the way
Israel goes all out for shalach manos.
We're so smart. We get it. Is there a
mix with people like royal up more than
shalach manos? It's so cool. We just get
it because Amalek's about extras and
knocking off some and people who don't
count and we don't buy into Amalek.
We're about nice call you them. There's
not an extra in our people.
Let's see we should we should be managed
all of us be to see peace to be shalom
in our people to see all of our ramis
carrying Israel the restoration of
carrying your scroll. If I can have you
remember bring your story to Torah. When
you hear the Megillah, come with your
story. Hashem will just be talking about
your story. When you read the parashah,
read a few pesukim, he's talking about
your story. If I could ask what Rosh
Chodesh what we started, please let's be
Rosh Chodesh people, fresh, new. Try
something new. Try a new food you always
said you wouldn't like it. You'll see
you'll like it. Just new. Hischadshus.
We're Rosh Chodesh, we make Rosh Chodesh
sodas in your own homes and we should
see the curve. Many, many we should be
so busy our people as busy as Shaloch
Manos, chasunas, mamish nightly we
should be completely overwhelmed. Have
an excellent night. Thank you so much.
