And the book mainly really is focusing on the prayers for the high holidays, Rashashana. And what are we praying for on Rashana for the whole year? So why not? These are inyani. These are ideas that are incorporated in our hashkaf in our worldview Judaism 101. And uh we do use these phrases throughout the year. So we're starting off on page ket at the very bottom. We're asking God that injustice should shut its mouth. That we should get rid of evil. The word a is a lion of a in fact a lot of Hebrew words or English words are based on Hebrew words like it sounds like evil a right it means we're talking about evil evil should tick pa the word tickpots right you think of um to jump or to to to spring but it also means to shut or close. Okay. That's what it means. That evil should shut its mouth. It should lose its ability to have the power that it has. We have this concept of the dark side of the impure side of the the dark side, right? The evil side. And it has the power, it has the ability to spread and to tempt and to um distribute evil into the world. We're talking about the spreading. When someone opens their mouth, it's because they want to share an idea. They want to share their feelings. They want to share what's going on inside. So they open their mouth. So too this is what the the the Sultan basically asking that it should shut its mouth. It should not have the ability to spread its powers. Again the word um this is like the root of is that through that that's how it spreads. It spreads through words or it spreads its its ideas. But what we're really praying for the future, this is what we're praying for in the future that the whole world will recognize the kingdom of God and his unity. And that will ha what will happen is there will be a beetle an extinction a negation of the possibilities of evil to seduce or lure and as a result therefore it will shut the mouth and be quiet be silenced evil will be silenced okay this is what we're praying For the next page, these words should be familiar that all evil will dissipate or will be like will dissipate like ashan like smoke that disappears that that just doesn't exist. [sighs] evil is compared in this phrasiology to smoke a what happens with smoke it just disappears it dissipates it right it's gone one minute it's here and the next minute it's gone har so too evil will And that's why it's compared to smoke will dissipate like smoke more than this when you look at smoke from far. I mean so many people you right I mean look at tan look at look what's happening in Iran right all of a sudden there's like an explosion and you can see on these videos it look the billings or maybe in Gaza or in Lebanon wherever wherever we're doing our duty here right you see these pillars of smoke it's like thick like as if it's something of physical mass but when you see it from far away certainly looks like it's it's solid when you're looking at from a distance. It's only superficial. It appears like it's a substance. It's it appears as if it's a reality this black thick mass. However, remember if you really think deeply about you, have a closer look and you come close or you approach this thick black smoke, what happens and you get enough close enough to feel it. What do you really see? It's really nothing. It's going to dissipate. rock. It's just pure vapor. It's nothing. This is exactly what evil is. The same thing is true by what we call evil. Someone who really thinks well is an intellectual person contemplates this. You can even see today it has no real substance. We're talking about evil now. It's just an illusion. Now, on the other hand, or in spite of this, people who live a superficial life, right? That's none of us, right? But people do, some people live a superficial life. They think this is how you survive. What what is there's a whole philosophy? I don't know if it's in evolution or just you know the Romans, right? Might makes right, right? Like steal, rob, pillage for tomorrow we die. I don't know whatever however the the statement goes. You're just pure evil because there is no moral compass. Whoever is the strongest will survive. [sighs] That is the way evil thinks. Okay. Uh they imagine they imagine that the only way for tangible reality is to do evil and for evil to exist. And they think that if they perform according to its will the evil then what's going to end up happening is they're going to have a handsome prophet. Right? How often I mean maybe as kids when we were really young and we didn't know probably knew better taking a little piece of candy from the the store or people as they grow up they think that they could just rob a bank or a jewelry store or like they do in LA they they they rob less than I don't know $980 and then they're scot-free. But what's going to happen in the future that all evil will dissipate just like the smoke dissipates evil will be negated. It will cease to exist. Now everyone will know eventually or finally you know retroactively but everyone will finally understand we're talking about when Msiah comes right when God's the knowledge of God will fill the whole earth like the sea like the water fills the seabed then we will finally really truly understand that the existence of evil was really just an illusion. It was um pure imagination like smoke and all it did was try to temp and be deceitful uh to everybody that it possibly could. The next two paragraphs, what else are we praying for that um that should pass from the earth any evil rule, right? I mean going into different u countries and thinking about the corrupt governments but uh so not only will corrupt governments cease but also all evil will cease. When will this happen? When will the evil dissipate like smoke? When Hashem will enol, will get rid of the the rulership that is corrupt, that is full of iniquity, what exactly is zadon, right? We think of it as the corrupt governments and everything. When will the rule of iniquity cease? We're talking about the strength of the the kingdom of the evil inclination. the whole time that evil exists there is some kind of power rulership that it has over a person and the world like it says in cohelis we're just taking three words from the pik Ecclesiastes 4:13 melik zakil what is the yates remember it's the older brother 13 years or 12 years for a woman we only have the yates and the yates to the good inclination only comes Once we're in the process of maturity, so it's the older brother. It's always got a head start 12, 13 years. So it's the older king is the foolish king. Tell us inel this is the evil inclination that we all have that this evil kingdom so to speak has revealed itself or has a success. We all know, we're all familiar with the our own evil inclination that it has the power and the ability to incite or to um to seduce people shal. So what happens is it re presents itself or represents itself to people with a ridiculous mirage things that are of foolishness like a permanent or a building or a complete building but we're talking about it's perfectly material and uh it's its existence is and people think of its existence as very important and even vital and and beneficial. until a person falls or succumbs under its authority and becomes an obedient servant to the to the Satan and that's what it means. So it's not just the corrupt governments it's the which has rulership over us. This is what it means by the kingdom kingship or rulership of evil. But we're looking forward to that day when Hashem will abolish this kingdom, this evil kingdom. Then evil will go up in smoke. It will dissipate in smoke. when everyone will recognize that this had no power. There really was no it was all an illusion and it it was really nothing. Anybody know the Misha when we go to heaven, right? The rashy are going to cry when Shia comes, right? The Rashim are going to cry. The the the righteous are going to cry. And what are they crying about? So the the righteous Wow. there was this huge mountain and he succeeded. She succeeded in overcoming the harrah and they look at that mountain they say wow I spent my whole life now I understand I I you know you get to the top of Everest or whatever name another you know one of these mountains that everyone likes to climb and they really feel good about it and the evil person he looks at the h at the end of his life and it was like a string of hair it was a very thin rope and he couldn't he couldn't overcome it and he's crying because he I can't believe it was all an illusion I thought it was the mountain, right? Maybe the the the thought it was like a hair, but in the end, each one can't believe, wow, what they could have overcome or what they did overcome. Okay, I read that. So, in the prayers, we say three times. So, at the end, he's summing them up because this is really the end of the certain chapter. The first that we're asking that all of creation should have a proper healthy fear of heaven of Hashem and all people will be united in the service of Hashem. That is the ultimate. That's the first request. The second request [snorts] um the second request is that we're asking that Hashem should place onto the hearts or cause the nations of the world that they would truly appreciate or truly value amra. Okay? Because amra is the servants. And I just want to stop here. I had a a a student who asked me not Jewish and they've been studying Judaism and they're very, you know, praying for the Jewish people and they wonder what's going on. You have besides Bernie Maidaf years ago and then you have Jeffrey Epstein, right? You have some of these, you know, big, we'll call him Hashem, right? And they wonder if the Jews are so special, what's happening here? What is happening? So I think this is the idea that the greater yourates to the greater your inclination to do good is equally you have a yates to do bad. So if the person asks if the Jews are running the world meaning according to Torah Judaism. So right the whole world is going according to our actions when we're doing good. Well guess what we we have we have free will. That's the greatest gift that God gave us. And unfortunately, we misuse this free will and we choose evil. But as a people, as a whole, yes, the all of history is going to follow whether or not we're choosing making the right choice. And I could tell you from the people I hang out with, the people that come to classes, the people that are online that I'm I involve myself with, these are people, these are amra, these are the best. These are the best of the Jews. And unfortunately, like I said, or maybe fortunately, we all have a Yates and the Yates is very strong. And we're praying that it should become null and void. That day will come where everybody will serve Hashem properly and all the nations will come to recognize the true special power gift that the Amish Israel has. and through our actions our tail and right doing the proper tikunim on a personal level on a national level that Msiah will come and everyone will turn around and say see the Jews did it endgame and the third that we're praying for that we're praying that the righteous people and the pious people they're going to be so overjoyed each one according to his own level. That this evil kingdom meaning the within us and externally as well will um be removed from it will end it will be removed from the earth. Now he he ends by really introducing the next paragraph. to the result the purpose of all this all of the and everything we read up until now we're on page 30 the next chapter you don't have but is that you alone will reign when the whole world comes to recognize and we're I'm learning now later on in the book all about the elenu prayer so the the the theme we say elenu three times a day is about getting rid of the idols getting rid of the It's a harah and the unity of Hashem and the recognition by the whole world. Anyway, that's how he's now introducing this last paragraph by just saying that that's the ultimate goal where we will all recognize that Hashem alone he is the king and will continue this next week.
