They think one day I'm going to come rich, people will respect me more. What does and what doesn't happen and what are the misnomers? So all those things are false. Respect does not get given to you. Meaning, if you go into shul and suddenly you walk in one day and you sold your company and suddenly you walk in and you smell from what you consider to be expensive cologne and you wear fancy shoes and a belt and a watch and a different car. You don't earn respect that way. People look at you truthfully, whether you think it or not, people look at you and go, "You're a clown." [music] What people respect is a guy who knows how to learn, a guy who's humble, a guy who's kind. Someone, a very smart man said to me years ago, just reminded me of this, that a lot of times you go into shul on Friday night and you go, "Good Shabbos, good [music] Shabbos, good Shabbos." And he says, "This guy I knew was not from, but very knowledgeable about our community." He goes, "Do you realize how just big that hole is? Good Shabbos. Nobody ever looks at their friend and says, 'How was your week?' Simply. Yeah, if you ask somebody honestly, 'Good Shabbos, how was your week?' They'd be surprised that there are those who say, 'Oh, amazing.' And there's going to be that one guy who's going to look at you and say, 'Can I talk to you for a minute?' You'd be fascinated by it.
